He read the cluster’s average shimmer window and timed the release to the majority interval.
Fourteen of the eighteen fell to the arc. The remaining four were mid-shimmer at the moment of release and survived the strike. He closed the distance with Phantom Void Step and finished them individually.

He stood at the apex island’s edge and looked out at the Allheaven Expanse.
The halo was in his inventory. Six empty guardian slots. The jade count from the Cluster Guardian drops alone was already substantial, stored in the Spatial Storage Token alongside the months of amplified material drops from every hunt since entering the expanse. Long Tianyu was somewhere in this space, operating at level 189 with more thirty years of hunter experience behind him, collecting jades through the same mechanisms every hunter in the expanse was using.
He thought about what level 200 meant in terms of what he could reach now. The spirit beasts that the event rules had described as guardians, the entities at the scale of the thunder dragon that moved through the upper atmospheric layers of the expanse. The cluster guardians had been level 164 to 170. What was above that in this environment was a different category of target.
He thought about six slots.
The Greater Qilin stood at the apex island’s edge beside him, its evolved eyes looking at the same expanse he was looking at, its spatial awareness already mapping the territory ahead. It had brought him to the right clusters at the right density for the past days of leveling. It had read the environment the way he read it, through perception that exceeded standard spirit beast capability by a margin that kept expanding as the days in the high-dao environment continued.
"What’s next," he said. It was not a question he needed answered verbally. He said it the way you say things when you are ready to move and the movement is the response.
The qilin oriented itself.
Level 200. The leveling phase was complete. The collection phase started now.
Everything after this was different.
