X-ray Eyes Little Wild Doctor-Chapter 237 - 232: The Huge Change in the Security Department
Chapter 237: Chapter 232: The Huge Change in the Security Department
The former is naturally a man who has gone bad, a bad apple through and through. The latter is a man who’s wickedly bad.
"You embody both," Yun Xinyan said.
"I’m dizzy!" Ye Tian was even more speechless, and asked, "My dear wife, is this really what you think of me? I’m so heartbroken, so disappointed, so sad."
"Pfft." Yun Xinyan couldn’t help but burst into laughter at his coquettish behavior.
Ye Tian grabbed Yun Xinyan’s small hand, and said with a mischievous smile, "Then would you be willing to have a spontaneous bam-bam-bam with a thoroughly bad man?"
"Go to hell!" Yun Xinyan’s face turned red, and she quickly turned her head away.
"What’s there to be shy about, there’s no one else in the elevator anyway,"
"Let me go quickly, it would be so inappropriate if someone saw us."
"We’re an old married couple, what are you afraid of? Besides, no one is going to see us. Moreover, you still owe me from last night, you need to compensate me," Ye Tian said.
"Go to hell!" Yun Xinyan chided.
"I can’t die, I shouldn’t die, if I die, you’ll become a widow," Ye Tian said.
"I’d be too happy if you died," Yun Xinyan said.
"Keep bluffing. Don’t know who it was crying all day, even going on a hunger strike, had to be taken to the hospital, hehe," Ye Tian chuckled.
Finally, the elevator doors opened. Yun Xinyan straightened her clothes, ignored Ye Tian, and with her usual cold and sharp CEO demeanor, she took big strides into her executive office. Before she closed the door, she made a point to warn, "Without my permission, you’re not allowed to come in and bother me; be careful, or I’ll fire you!"
Ye Tian shrugged his shoulders, "You wouldn’t have the heart."
Saying this, he lit a cigarette and swaggered into his security room.
"Strange, who threw my folder into the trash can? What’s going on? Who doesn’t know the rules?"
Ye Tian took his folder and a few other personal items out of the trash. He muttered to himself, he had been away from the company for only a few days, and this group of people were up to something again. They had even thrown his office supplies into the trash can. This was like trying to chase him out of the security department.
"The issue on the eighth floor has got to be Xiao Feng’s doing, can’t escape that sneaky old fox," Ye Tian mumbled to himself.
There was still over an hour left until the start of his shift, and the young security guys hadn’t arrived yet. Ye Tian, with nothing better to do in his office, decided to head to the rooftop for some fresh air and to practice his punches and loosen his muscles. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
The early morning sun was rising, and a purple glow emanated from the east—the best time for martial arts practice, and Ye Tian was well versed in this.
Ye Tian practiced his internal-style boxing on the rooftop, feeling incredibly comfortable in all his muscles and bones. Then he returned to the company. As soon as he reached the entrance, he sensed something was wrong.
At the headquarters, the person sitting at the reception desk had changed, it wasn’t the familiar Xiao Song, but a lackluster black girl with a country air about her, not even bothering to greet those who came in.
Furthermore, the security guard patrolling the front desk area wasn’t the familiar Gu Lei but a greenhorn with an unfamiliar face, a kid with peach fuzz who probably wasn’t even eighteen and might not have even finished middle school, judging by his careless demeanor.
This rookie didn’t recognize Ye Tian, and as he saw him in a security uniform approaching, pushed him slightly. Ye Tian took half a step back and forced a smile. He wanted to see what this rookie intended to do to him.
"Are you a security guard working here?" The rookie eyed Ye Tian through his nostrils, the arrogance evident as if he were the president’s son.
Ye Tian shrugged his shoulders and remained silent.
"Hey, I’m speaking to you; are you blind? Believe it or not, I could have you fired with just one word," the rookie frowned and scolded. He was growing increasingly annoyed with the man before him.
"What’s the matter with me?" Ye Tian asked indifferently.
"You freaking see what time it is? You’re late, know that? Are you an idiot or something?" The rookie spat on the ground and cursed, "Get lost, get lost, get lost, I don’t want to see your face again, you make me sick, idiot!"
"Who are you calling an idiot?" Ye Tian asked with a half-smile.
"I’m calling you an idiot!" the rookie said proudly.
Pretending to have an epiphany, Ye Tian walked on, saying, "That’s indeed very idiotic," and quickly disappeared past the company’s culture wall and out of sight at the entrance.
"What did he say?" The rookie asked the dark and homely front desk girl, who simply replied, "He said you’re the idiot, idiot!"
"Fuck! That asshole played me." The stunned lackey suddenly realized and hurriedly called his uncle-in-law, "Uncle, some dumbass cursed at me, you gotta fire him."
"Alright, got it. Why the hell are you calling me for such a trivial thing? Do phone calls cost you nothing?" In the Security Department Director’s office, Xiao Feng put down the phone in his hand.
"This troublesome nephew of mine, what am I supposed to do with him? He only ever causes me trouble," Xiao Feng sighed, "Luckily that Ye Tian died; otherwise, given his education, expecting to work at the corporation was just a dream. Nowadays, even college graduates can’t find jobs."
After putting down his nephew’s phone, Xiao Feng boldly sat in his executive chair, throwing his short legs onto the desktop as he smoked and perused documents.
This was a resignation report, signed by Gu Lei.
"No guts, no glory. You had to oppose me, so off you go, back home to play babysitter," he laughed heartily.
Xiao Feng tossed Gu Lei and the others’ resignation reports into the drawer, comfortably puffing on a cigar while carelessly blowing smoke rings.
Now, the entire Security Department was staffed with new faces, all his relatives and brothers, completely obedient and ready to act on his command. Xiao Feng was no longer the marginalized puppet he used to be.
Meanwhile, Ye Tian walked into the company’s office building and noticed that all the security guards had been replaced with new faces, only a few older ones remained. His usual acquaintances like Gu Lei were nowhere to be seen.
"Captain Ye! Weren’t you, weren’t you already..." The elderly security guard was shocked to see Ye Tian, not for any other reason but because it was common knowledge throughout the company that Ye Tian had died just a few days ago, and everyone had even sent wreaths.
But there he was, Captain Ye, standing right in front of them, utterly shocking.
"Oh my God, he couldn’t be... a zombie, could he?" The old security guard mumbled to himself, truly frightened at the thought of ghosts.
"Umm..." Ye Tian was at a loss for words, but briefly explained that he was not dead and that it was just a joke, which made old Zhang half-believe and half-doubt.
"Old Zhang, let me ask you, where did Gu Lei and the others go?" Ye Tian got back to the point.
"Captain Ye, you don’t know?" The old security guard pulled him aside to a quiet fire corridor and explained, "Little Gu and the others were all fired. It’s been several days now, it happened when you were gone. It was Director Xiao himself who did the deed. Our Security Department has completely changed."
"What did Gu Lei and the others do wrong to be fired just like that?" Ye Tian frowned.
"Captain Ye, you’re unaware, Director Xiao is now very powerful. He decides who gets to work and who doesn’t with just a word. We old guys dare not oppose him; we all have families and cannot afford to make trouble," the old security guard spoke, evidently full of anger but too scared to express it.
"Alright, I know everything now; go back to your duties," Ye Tian sent the old security guard back to his post, then lit a cigarette and walked, puffing on it, towards the Security Department Director’s office.
Passing by the corporate office area, many white-collar workers saw Ye Tian and were startled, rubbing their eyes in disbelief. They thought, "Am I dreaming? Isn’t that Captain Ye? Wasn’t he dead? I even went to lay a wreath the other day. What in the world is going on?"
Ye Tian did not bother to explain to the shocked office staff, as he wouldn’t be able to explain it all anyway. He thought it was better to let them remain shocked for the moment as the truth would naturally come out in time.
He walked straight up to Xiao Feng’s office door and kicked it open, striding arrogantly inside.
"You’ve got some nerve, causing a scene in my office, you little..."
Xiao Feng’s office door flew off its hinges, landing with a bang and leaving him cursing furiously as he leaped to his feet. But when he saw the person who had walked in, he was completely stunned.
"You, you, you are..." Xiao Feng couldn’t believe his eyes.
"What ’you’! Tell me, why did you fire Gu Lei and the others? If you don’t give me a satisfactory answer today, I’m throwing you out the window, believe it or not?" Ye Tian grabbed Xiao Feng by the collar, opened the office window, and pressed his head out into the open air.
Their height was nearly 30 floors up, the cars below as small as matchboxes. The high winds howled past, forcing Xiao Feng to squint against it. Ye Tian’s grip was strong, and Xiao Feng was dangling halfway out of the window, with only his feet still inside the room.
Any slight movement could send him tumbling down. If he fell, his head would surely burst open like a smashed watermelon. The cleaners would have to scoop him up with a shovel to take him to the morgue, and no amount of makeup could restore his former appearance.
"Captain Ye, you were supposed to be, supposed to be..." Xiao Feng stammered in terror.
"Dead, right?" Ye Tian sneered.
"Yeah," Xiao Feng said.
"Damn it, were you hoping I was dead? Looks like I didn’t hit you hard enough!"
Suddenly, Ye Tian let go, and Xiao Feng’s portly body started to slip downward.
"Help me!" Xiao Feng cried out in terror, tears and snot streaming down his face, as a warm liquid began to trickle down his trouser leg, dripping onto his shirt and face and emitting a foul odor. He had actually wet himself out of fear.
Ye Tian grabbed his leg with one hand and slapped his back with the other, cursing, "I’ve been gone for only a few days, and look at what you’ve done. Spit it out, why did you fire Gu Lei? If you don’t explain yourself, I swear I’ll kill you today!"
