Chapter 425: Chapter 425

The little sister who had stayed near enough to notice his determined rush intercepted the enraged prince the moment the Lady moved to the dance floor.

"... Do not act impulsively." — The Princess, gaining brief composure said at the halt of the man, who took a moment solely to deny such petition.

"... I can’t."

"You can! It is solely one dance. It doesn’t mean anything! Think carefully. What will Lady Marianne think if you appear like this before them??... Do not make myself regret wanting to aid you while acting this recklessly."

The Dance was already starting as he heard the little sister’s founded warnings. The Crown Prince remained silent, clenching his heart in frustration as he watched the charming woman... taking the hand of another man while the beautiful melody commenced to guide their moves.

"... I don’t like it..."

"... I am aware you don’t... yet there is nothing you are to do about it."

"Clearly, I cannot when you stand in my way." — Annoyed he growled at the sibling who kept him in place, preventing him from doing as his impulses mandated. And to the threatening sounds, the Princess calmly stared into his glare... as his teeth gritted in rage and frustration for he did not want to ignite sudden chaos so readily like once he used to.

"... You cannot for you have no right to do so." — Jasmine coldly stated, indifferent to consequences. — "You may be in love with her... yet nothing you are to the Lady... Coming before her to demand her hand and sole attention when your intentions have not been told is unreasonable, Brother."

It was rough a truth the little sister was telling. Within the Crown Prince, there was already awareness of these facts told by a severe and straightforward Jasmine... yet the displeasure was not to fade easily with comprehension.

Zeleskiaz’s patience was eager to finally get to the moment his feelings could be confessed and sincerely expressed to the Lady owning his thoughts, sentiments and soul... However... even though desires to become violent against those standing in the path between himself and the tender lady...

"I am sure my sayings lit wishes to kill myself and Noverrne within your deepest."

"..."

"Yet you are not to do it as you are different from before, Zeleskiaz." — Jasmine, although holding inside great fear to what could go wrong while talking like this to her unpredictable older brother, expressed with conviction and hope. Believing his devotion to be greater than the lengths his rage could lead his actions. — "Look away if you need to... Remember that the kind of jealousy you are to show must be respectful... it must not be unsightly... remain composed... even if it is against the cruel Fenrir’s nature living inside you."

’... Against... this cruel beast’s nature...’

After such declarations, Zeleskiaz decided to watch every second of the lady and the Duke of Noverrne’s dance from afar. Not looking away like the sibling had suggested.

His displeasure was such at the scene that even after Clemente had returned Marianne to her Father’s company Zeleskiaz did not approach the Lady’s surroundings for the awaited dances... solely because bitterness was one taking too long to dissolve in his soul’s taste.

’I am still... vastly enraged by the touch he gained of you...’ — Zeleskiaz, while apart from her sight understood. Following the princess’s advice to only approach the lady once his heart was calmer and serene.

Yet calmness took long to be gained... Hence, it was once the dance with her Father commenced that the Crown Prince decided to stroll away from the crowd. Needing to find the peace of mind necessary, so his attitude towards the loved woman would not be unfair by ugly jealousy.

’It is getting ridiculous... I am now jealous of her father solely for he is naturally to stand beside her unlike myself... What is it with myself?... What is it with this untold love that is disturbing my reason...?’ — Exhausted by the effect these feelings had on his senses, narrowing his view of what was common and natural, Zeleskiaz paced through places he was not to be at. — ’To be with her... how can I become this unreasonable??’

The courtyard he had taken the lady was the last place Zeleskiaz had roamed to during his brief escape from the crowd that had gasped fascinated by her loveliness. Guided by the calming melody of water, he arrived at marvellous rest from the buzz of celebration... Finding the water of the fountain shining to the light entering from the glass dome covering his sky...peeking at the brightness of the moon that illuminated further than the candles brightening the insides of dark corridors.

"I would like for us to be alone together... breathe her sweetness... and naturally forget how I feel at this moment..." — With yearning he whispered, letting his eyes fall on the water of the fountain so it could be observed from a distance. — "My patience..... I am certain it would find a reason to remain if we shared some time together..."

These convictions were the ones that ultimately drove him to go back to where the celebration was held.

Knowing the woman Marianne was, Zeleskiaz was aware his jealousy was unfounded as his sibling had declared, and although a low mood was still clouding his energy, a wish to take her hand in a dance as promised... a wish to then stroll together... and lead her where the moon beautifully lit the waters of a lonesome fountain was born with anew anticipation in his heart. Hoping to demonstrate manly gentleness... and court her as romantically as he has been taught he should so her love would one day emerge as strongly as his did.

’It is not long before I can declare my love... these moments, I should treasure them while demonstrating my interest.’ — Trying to light his expectations, Zeleskiaz quickly made his return. Determined in not allowing his unconfident thoughts to bury his efforts until this day.

While walking into the hall, the man being her father was found first and paying attention to her essence so he would speedily find her, Zeleskiaz came near the Sylfinnier’s Duke.

"Your Grace."

"... Your Highness. It is a marvel for you to approach me. What do you want?"

"... I previously saw you dance with the Lady. Solely I wished to see if her presence was still near, yet I guess my beliefs were mistaken."

"Hah. I cannot believe you lost sight of her with how intense a stare you wear. You fail at making it unnoticeable, do be aware."
