You Think I Won't Talk?-Chapter 543
’?? What was that...?’ — Touching lightly her own limb to make sure it had only been a sensation, Marianne pondered. Not thinking much of it until the boredom made her thoughts work as they usually would. — ’That was odd.... Wait. I didn’t unknowingly summon Fenrir or any kind of creature, did I?? I doubt I have the power for it but... surprises... this place is full of them.’
Although her imagination this time was mistaken it was timely that the chosen witnessed the hint of flare coming from her treasure. It was unnoticeable for the common eyes surrounding her to notice yet its flare, unbeknownst to herself, had been rising lightly ever since the chosen had taken her seat and grasped a teacup.
Its powers, although not as powerful as they could eventually grow and evolve to, were strong enough to protect its owner stealthfully after a soul meshed. The reason was that the owner was no longer separated within and no interference from this natural inconsistency was able to intrude in its growth as she was now wholely of this world... and so... that one who was after her life sighed... unimpressed as she acknowledged that their attempt was useless as expected and that their means should evolve correspondingly.
’Those insects’ protection must be interfering with the poison’s nature as I feared... otherwise, chaos should have broken ages ago at the sight of her puddle of blood.’ — With concealed presence, it observed... unsavoury as the hand of the ninth was stared at with grudge for its glow could fend off by itself these attempts. — ’How depressing... I would have loved to witness how purple your skin became as it rotted away, ninth...’
Mixing between the people had not been an issue difficult for her to accomplish, nonetheless, the efforts made so her schemes were successful had gone awry even though she had been thoroughly sowing animosity in those needed for her success. The current circumstances were not as she had planned nor desired... none of the present day should have come to place according to her ways...
’After all these years... to think it came to this.’ — Hating the sight of a tranquil youth, beautiful and pure... alive and ignorantly fearless of all the evil behind an old grudge her soul did not deserve, Marianne’s figure was cursed and wrenched by the witch, imagining with cruelty how her hands wanted to tear every piece of her who was full of carefreeness. — ’Paul failed, the loud girl as well... if her mother had assisted today, maybe the lock could have been strengthened so this would be easier...’
A conversation she was currently participating in could not be as interesting for the evil to lose sight completely of the happiness the chosen by her enemy carried elegantly while being welcomed by the assistants, and so... deciding to look at the elegantly hidden neck of the girl where she knew her threads had almost cut her life... the other schemes she had developed were recalled with entertainment and treachery. Ominously anticipating how to play with this little frail and seemingly small creature.
’Yet it is fine for now. Think you have conquered happiness as much as you like, Marianne... it is a little ray of hope I will grant your poor soul... steadily you will find your own death because of this unfounded confidence you flaunt so openly.’ — A smile... one that met Marianne’s as if sorry, lowered. Not causing much impression unlike Marianne’s following actions did for her.
It appeared to be that some small talk was held between the child and the Empire’s Princess. Notes from her stack had been drawn closer and replied with enthusiasm as she interacted silently with those interested in crossing words with such a celebrated and loved lady she had become. However, it was after this moment of crossing gazes, that a last little message was given to the princess, so she could inform those still at the table why the host would momentarily depart from their presence.
"Are you going on your own, lady Marianne? Would you like me to go with you?" — The princess had discreetly offered as soon as she read the notice. Only receiving a shake of Marianne’s head as she also gestured it would be brief a leave.
Considerate of her wishes, Jasmine looked at those others who watched the sudden rise of the Ninth from the table, expressing gently its motive.
"Lady Marianne will go refresh herself for a moment, there is no need for us to stand. She says she will be back shortly."
"Oh, thankfully. I had thought something had displeased her..."
"Not in the least. Continue to enjoy the delicacies. When it comes to tea, Lady Marianne is one who loves having her guests enjoy at the table."
Commencing little giggles as they wanted to take the opportunity to learn from the princess who seemed close to the chosen, Marianne was guarded against unnecessary excuses, being followed by her knights that at all times would now stand behind her and at a close distance follow her everywhere.
’I truly need a break from all their stares and nonstop talking...’ — She sighed exhausted as she walked down the hall. Stopping her steps only once near the bast living room where the men gathered thoughtful of the ladies, noticing how her suitor had been following her motion as he had also stepped aside from those who had surrounded him after conversations he was not inclined to pursue.
"..." — Her hands fiddled for a second, blessing him with a loving gaze as both knew they could not be together as they would have wanted. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
’Isn’t this troubling, my prince?’ — She whispered in thoughts no one would listen. Lowering her gaze to stare at the finesse of her fingers that craved the rough ones of her man. — ’Keeping distances when we only wish to link our hands together instead... is proving harder than we thought...’
The aura of the woman was palpable as frail yearning, sending a throb to the man whose spirit wavered every time at her tender splendour and had drank the offered wine hoping to reminisce of the taste stolen at a night of mascarades.
