Your Talent is Mine-Chapter 1045: Securing the Spot!
TL: Etude
Three hundred years wasn’t a long time, but for Ye Tian, it posed a major problem. His rapid growth left his foundation shallow. By all logic, this competition had nothing to do with him.
The selection occurred once every thousand years, with each quota predetermined far in advance. If Ye Tian were to compete for the next round, he’d have a chance. But aiming for a spot in this round was going to cause trouble.
That said, it wasn’t entirely impossible for him to compete. He only needed recommendations from more than ten Sacred Ancestors. After that, he’d have to challenge the current guard assigned to this spot—if he succeeded, the quota would become his.
However, doing this would undoubtedly offend the guard, as well as the forces backing him.
Typically, very few Sacred Ancestors would be willing to offer their joint recommendations.
But once Ye Tian learned about this process, he personally visited each Sacred Ancestor, promising various benefits. In the end, he managed to secure the joint endorsement of ten Sacred Ancestors.
…
In Bayin City, within a grand estate,
The guard-tier warrior, Nuo Yu, was utterly furious. He had already internally decided on securing this slot for himself. Although his talent was exceptional, he desired a flawless evolution into a Sacred Ancestor. Only through a perfect evolution could he hope to ascend to become a Great Sacred Ancestor, or even an Old Ancestor.
However, Nuo Yu had little confidence in achieving perfect evolution on his own. At best, his chances of merely advancing to Sacred Ancestor stood at less than thirty percent—let alone achieving perfection.
Thus, he desperately needed a powerful inheritance to aid his breakthrough. And the greatest inheritance available to the Life Green Clan resided within the Life Divine Mountain.
This mountain was a forbidden area, normally inaccessible. Only those with one of the millennium quotas were allowed entry.
Previously, the talented individuals in Bayin City had overshadowed Nuo Yu, but they each secured their spots over time. Finally, it was his turn. Yet, just as everything seemed in place, someone unexpectedly emerged out of nowhere to challenge him.
“No! Ten Sacred Ancestors have already given their joint recommendation to that… Ye fellow! The review will take several days, and if he challenges me, I won’t stand a chance!” Nuo Yu muttered anxiously.
He knew his own limits well. Although he was among the top-tier guard-tier fighters, Ye Tian’s power was simply too overwhelming. People even called Ye Tian an invincible guard, and that wasn’t just empty praise—it reflected his true strength.
If they fought, Nuo Yu feared he wouldn’t last more than a few moves before losing.
“Do I really have to wait another thousand years?” he agonized.
While a thousand years wasn’t much for him—he could easily spend it in closed-door cultivation—losing this spot meant more than just wasted time. His face was on the line! This spot had already been considered his. If someone else took it, his reputation would be in shambles. 𝘙Аɴ𝙤₿Ёᶊ
At that point, he wouldn’t know how many people would mock him!
Fortunately, Ye Tian’s background was shallow. Although his talent was exceptional, he had no powerful backers.
“Kill him!”
The thought emerged in Nuo Yu’s mind. A dead genius without connections—no one would come seeking justice.
The real issue was whether or not Ye Tian could be killed.
“I can’t involve the Sacred Ancestors,” Nuo Yu knew well. Sacred Ancestors were forbidden from acting against guards. If any Sacred Ancestor violated this rule, the Life Green Clan would mete out severe punishment. No Sacred Ancestor would dare take such a risk unless they had a death wish.
Thus, Nuo Yu could only employ other guard-tier fighters. However, since Ye Tian was invincible at this level, sending one person wouldn’t be enough.
Every race had its dark side. Even the powerful Life Green Clan, shaped through countless years, had hidden forces operating in the shadows.
One such force was the Black God Organization. This group specialized in assassination missions. They even dared to target Sacred Ancestors, provided the price was right.
Coincidentally, Nuo Yu knew how to contact a local branch of the Black God Organization within the organization. He secretly reached out and paid an astronomical deposit to issue an assassination order against Ye Tian.
…
Two days later.
Ye Tian received a message—an urgent plea for help from a village. Coincidentally, it was the same village where he had once lived.
If Ye Tian ignored the request, someone could seize the opportunity to accuse him of neglecting his past and stain his reputation.
Thus, Ye Tian left Bayin City and headed toward the village.
Thanks to his incredible speed, it wouldn’t take long for him to arrive.
However, shortly after leaving Bayin City, several figures emerged, traversing through spatial rifts. They used powerful treasures to seal off the surrounding space entirely.
One guard.
Two guards.
Three guards…
In total, more than twenty guard-tier fighters appeared, each wearing masks and cloaks to hide their identities from detection.
From their auras, it was clear that all twenty of the attackers were top-tier guard-tier fighters, each wielding powerful weapons.
Judging by their demeanor, they were seasoned combatants, not mere decorations. Their combat prowess was formidable.
With a squad of this caliber, unless a Sacred Ancestor intervened, no guard-tier warrior could survive.
“Who are you?” Ye Tian demanded.
The twenty fighters gave no reply and attacked without hesitation.
The battle erupted! From the very start, they suppressed Ye Tian.
Although Ye Tian was known as the invincible guard, this group seemed handpicked specifically to deal with him. Their teamwork was seamless, far more effective than a chaotic group of a hundred elite guard.
“If only I could use the full power of my true form, I could easily obliterate them!” Ye Tian thought to himself.
But this was nothing more than a fleeting thought. He dared not break the seal on his Innate Reincarnation ability. If he revealed his true nature, entering the Life Divine Mountain would become impossible.
Ye Tian focused solely on survival. He had no intention of killing his opponents and secretly sent a message to a Sacred Ancestor from Bayin City. This particular Sacred Ancestor held Ye Tian in high regard and would undoubtedly come to his aid.
Time ticked away. Although Ye Tian sustained injuries, he never faltered and managed to hold his ground.
The twenty assassins from the Black God Organization began to panic. Their original plan was to overwhelm and kill Ye Tian swiftly. But they never expected Ye Tian to be so resilient, enduring their onslaught and resisting their combined attacks.
“Retreat!”
The assassins sensed the presence of a Sacred Ancestor approaching from Bayin City. If they didn’t escape, they would surely perish here.
Just as the Black God Organization fighters fled, a Sacred Ancestor arrived.
“Ye, are you alright?” the Sacred Ancestor, Wang You, asked with concern.
“I’m fine, Lord Wang You!” Ye Tian responded promptly.
“I’ll make sure you get justice for this,” Wang You said gravely.
“Thank you, Lord Wang You!” Ye Tian replied, feigning gratitude.
Bayin City’s officials acted quickly. It didn’t take long for them to confirm that the attackers were from the Black God Organization.
Following this, Sacred Ancestors began tracking the fleeing assassins. Although the attackers left behind few traces, there was still a chance they could be found if the pursuit continued.
However, at this point, one of Bayin City’s guard-tier fighters accidentally exposed himself as the one who had hired the Black God Organization to assassinate Ye Tian.
That same day, the guard was killed.
Everyone knew, though, that he had been scapegoated—pushed forward to take the fall. Yet even with this knowledge, no further investigation could be conducted. Any deeper probing would escalate matters beyond control.
Ye Tian wasn’t entirely certain who had targeted him, though he had a few suspects. However, he didn’t care.
After all, he wasn’t part of the Life Green Clan and had no intention of staying there long. These petty disputes didn’t concern him.
Two more days passed, and Ye Tian’s challenge request was approved.
When Nuo Yu learned of Ye Tian’s strength, he was so terrified that he didn’t dare accept the challenge, fearing that Ye Tian might kill him during the fight. Out of fear, Nuo Yu voluntarily conceded.
With that, Ye Tian secured the coveted quota to enter the Life Divine Mountain.
The most critical step of his plan was now complete!
