Chapter 1072: The Secret Method of Harmony

TL: Etude

Wind King’s Small Domain.

Ye Tian arrived in this domain using the Blackwind Domain Technique and came face-to-face with the legendary General Bloodfiend.

General Bloodfiend wore a blood-red battle robe with streams of blood flowing on its surface, seemingly everlasting through billions of years.

Ye Tian doubted that an invincible figure like General Bloodfiend would be unable to remove the blood from his robe; surely, he left it on deliberately.

From that blood, Ye Tian sensed a pure aura of Dao power, unmistakably the blood of a Dao Ancestor.

He surmised that General Bloodfiend had likely slain a powerful Dao Ancestor and that his blood-stained robe served as a badge of honor.

It was akin to how some Generals on Earth wore their scars as marks of valor—a testament to their honor, not mere injuries.

“I greet General Bloodfiend!” Ye Tian spoke with respect.

“Peak Lord Nine Limits, you are too polite. Sit.”

With a wave of his hand, General Bloodfiend caused a grand hall to manifest, with two seats appearing beneath them. A round table floated in front of them, laden with rare spiritual fruits.

“Let’s get to the point. I want you to become a General of Blackwind Mountain. Currently, Blackwind Mountain has only a few dozen Generals, far short of the full roster of 108. Since you’ve now ascended to Pinnacle True Ancestor, you are eligible to be a General!” General Bloodfiend said.

“General Bloodfiend, if I were to become a General, what responsibilities would I have? And, what’s the difference between a General and a Peak Lord?” Ye Tian asked.

General Bloodfiend laughed and said, “Peak Lord Nine Limits speaks plainly. Unlike the other Peak Lords who yearn to be Generals yet lack the qualification, it seems you know little about the role.

“First, becoming a General immediately grants you access to three Middle Thousand Dao Techniques.

“Furthermore, the knowledge and inheritances you can access as a General far exceed those available to Peak Lords.

“Additionally, Generals are given control over at least one space within a small domain! In that space, you can establish your own foundation and train your own talents. Aside from the Ten Kings, no one is permitted entry—not even the Heavenly Kings.

“As a General, you will gain access to secrets that allow you to ascend to Dao Ancestor and beyond. These secrets are extremely valuable, and Peak Lords have no access to them! As for what tasks you’ll be assigned as a General, for now, nothing is required of you. However, should an enemy target Blackwind Mountain, Generals must step forward.

“Finally, if you become a General, you may not serve as a high-ranking member of any other Middle Three Heavens or above force, nor can you be the leader of any other faction.

“After all, Generals are considered part of Blackwind Mountain’s leadership. Even though Blackwind Mountain operates loosely, it can’t accept high-ranking members or leaders from other forces. That would complicate relations with other powers.”

Ye Tian agreed with General Bloodfiend’s restrictions regarding leadership positions in other Middle Three Heavens or above factions.

For example, if he held a high position within the Void Sky lineage and they offended Blackwind Mountain, how would he handle it as a General? But if he held no such high position, there’d be little conflict of interest.

Currently, the Void Sky lineage had not offered him much assistance. His master, Dao Ancestor Void Sky, had supported him personally, which was why he reciprocated and aided the Void Sky lineage.

Once he became a Dao Ancestor himself, though, he would undoubtedly leave the Void Sky lineage, as it would no longer be able to elevate his strength.

Moreover, his true roots lay with the Human Race, not the Void Sky lineage.

So—

“I am willing to become a General!” Ye Tian declared.

He believed Dao Ancestor Void Sky would support his decision and not oppose it.

“Excellent!” General Bloodfiend nodded approvingly. Had Ye Tian been unwilling to relinquish a high position within the Void Sky lineage, General Bloodfiend would have allowed him to remain only as a Peak Lord and not promote him to General.

After all, the secrets known to Blackwind Mountain’s Generals were too many and too sensitive, meant only for true insiders and core personnel.

Ye Tian had initially assumed becoming a General would entail a long process, but to his surprise, General Bloodfiend promoted him directly to the rank of General.

However, Ye Tian needed to swear an oath—not to betray Blackwind Mountain or take any leadership roles, such as high-ranking positions, sect master, or other chief positions within any other Middle Three Heavens or higher powers.

This wasn’t an ordinary oath but a life-binding vow. If he violated it, at best, his cultivation would stall; at worst, he would fall to his death.

Of course, the oath wasn’t unbreakable. Once he became a Invincible True Ancestor, such a vow would become meaningless. Beings of that caliber had already transcended the confines of rules; they were true powerhouses! (think author meant Dao Ancestor)

After Ye Tian formally became a General of Blackwind Mountain, General Bloodfiend led him to a special space within the Blackwind Small Domain.

There, Ye Tian saw a small library. This library, however, was no ordinary place. Though the collection was sparse, each text was engraved on “Leaves of the Dao,” an unparalleled treasure of the Dao, capable of recording only the most crucial information. Some information contained within defied conventional rules and couldn’t be transcribed onto jade slips, ordinary books, or even stone steles; only the Leaves of the Dao could bear such knowledge.

“This one details secrets regarding ascension to a Dao Ancestor. You must review it!”

General Bloodfiend picked up a tome and handed it to Ye Tian.

Ye Tian accepted it and carefully read through it, his astonishment growing with each word.

Indeed, General Bloodfiend was right—this tome revealed monumental secrets on ascending to a Dao Ancestor, secrets of a scale he’d never encountered before.

Several methods of ascension were outlined.

The first method was to fuse with the Dao through an Ancestral Stele, resulting in a pseudo-Dao Ancestor—a weak type with a limited future, often capped at the first or second Dao level, or sometimes unable to progress at all.

The second method was slightly better, involving the forced fusion with certain treasures that had minimal side effects.

The third method utilized Harmony Treasures for fusion, a path many Dao Ancestors in the Divine Heaven Domain chose. This method had almost no side effects or flaws.

However, the tome warned that using Harmony Treasures created a close tie to the domain’s rules, making it difficult to transcend them. For True Ancestors without the ambition to ascend to Pinnacle Dao Ancestor, this had little impact. But for those with aspirations to become Pinnacle Dao Ancestors, using Harmony Treasures was completely inadvisable.

The fourth method was to rely solely on one’s own power to merge with the Dao, without external aids. Ye Tian had long achieved the unification of essence, qi, and spirit, enabling him to merge with the Dao naturally, without needing external resources.

Yet, the tome also recorded a fifth and ultimate method for merging with the Dao—

“Using the Dark Forbidden Power to achieve fusion!” Ye Tian was stunned.

This method was wild. Even True Ancestors who hadn’t yet mastered the Forbidden Power could use it to merge with the Dao.

The process involved entering the Dark Forbidden Domain and performing a specialized fusion technique to absorb a sliver of Dark Forbidden Power, forcibly merging one’s essence, qi, and spirit with it.

On the surface, this seemed trivial, but acquiring even a trace of Dark Forbidden Power could increase one’s chance of ascending to an Invincible True Ancestor by at least thirty percent in the future.

After all, becoming an Invincible True Ancestor required mastery of the Dark Forbidden Power. With its essence already present in one’s being, gaining full mastery of it became much easier.

And for those who had already grasped the Dark Forbidden Power, fusing with it would greatly enhance their Forbidden Body and even offer the hope of mastering the Forbidden Rules! These rules surpassed all others, and once mastered, would not only dissolve the bottleneck of Pinnacle Dao Ancestor but even create a real possibility of becoming an Invincible True Ancestor.

Most precious of all was the fusion technique for the Forbidden Power itself.

“You want that fusion technique, don’t you?” General Bloodfiend smiled as he saw Ye Tian finish reading.

“Yes!” Ye Tian nodded.

“That technique is immensely valuable and is one of Blackwind Mountain’s core legacies, so it isn’t easily granted to you. Besides, I don’t possess it myself; it can only be bestowed by one of the living Six Kings personally.

But the Six Kings are in slumber, and only occasionally do they awaken a trace of their consciousness.

Only if you ascend to Invincible True Ancestor will you have the authority to summon a trace of their consciousness.

For now, obtaining that fusion technique is out of reach!” General Bloodfiend explained.

Ye Tian understood this and didn’t feel rushed. After all… he had no idea how long it would take him to reach the Dao Ancestor level!

General Bloodfiend then took out another tome and handed it to Ye Tian for review.
