In the Profound Void Ancient Realm—

The forces of the Upper Three Heavens, upon learning about the Realm Beast’s corpse, wanted to join the fray. Unfortunately, their Dao Ancestors remained in slumber. As mere True Ancestors, they would face certain death if they ventured outside the Profound Void Ancient Realm to contend for the corpse.

Reluctantly, these forces from the Upper Three Heavens chose to withdraw from this pursuit. However, they continued to closely monitor this significant event involving the Realm Beast’s corpse.

In the Human Territory—

Ye Tian also became aware of the Realm Beast’s corpse but knew well that his strength was still too weak. At most, he could barely match a First Heaven Dao Ancestor. In such an event, a First Heaven Dao Ancestor was far from powerful enough; he wouldn’t be able to make any meaningful difference.

“Better to just stay safely within the Human Territory,” Ye Tian murmured to himself.

Within the Dark God Palace—

The True Ancestors of the Glazed Glass Sect had already withdrawn, and the Palace Master of the Dark God Palace did not attempt to stop them; he didn’t dare. Most of the Dark God Palace’s True Ancestors were still in the Glazed Glass Sect. If he detained these True Ancestors, those from his own palace would be in grave danger.

“Those True Ancestors are the new hope for our palace’s rise!” the Palace Master muttered.

At this moment, a True Ancestor advised him, “Palace Master, shouldn’t we leave as well?”

“Where would we go?” The Palace Master gave a bitter smile.

“We could go anywhere,” the True Ancestor replied. “Chaos is vast—there’s bound to be somewhere to settle down!”

“It’s pointless,” the Palace Master shook his head. “Right now, countless Dao Ancestors skilled in divination are deducing our location. If we abandon the Realm Beast, we won’t be able to evade their predictions. They’d track us down anyway. Only by holding onto the Realm Beast do we have any hope of negotiating with them and keeping a slim chance at survival.”

“The Realm Beast’s corpse is incredibly valuable, and many forces are interested. This time, not only will the Void Sky lineage come, but the other four transcendent forces will likely show up too, along with numerous top-tier factions who have also caught wind of this.”

“We can offer the corpse but in exchange for protection. If even one of the four transcendent forces shields us, the Void Sky lineage wouldn’t dare make a move against us.”

“This is our only chance at survival!” the Palace Master said hopefully.

The other Dao Ancestors and True Ancestors no longer tried to dissuade him. Since the Palace Master had made up his mind, they could only follow his lead without question. Otherwise, before the enemies even arrived, the Palace Master would probably annihilate them himself.

Time passed day by day. Though the Dao Mountain Domain was vast and the Fiend Beast Forbidden Zone was somewhat remote, the various forces would still need time to arrive.

However, several top-tier forces nearby arrived first. Yet, none dared to enter the Fiend Beast Forbidden Zone directly; they weren’t strong enough and feared that the members of the Dark God Palace might resort to mutual destruction.

Gradually, one powerful force after another appeared outside the Forbidden Land, encircling it entirely. At this point, the Dark God Palace had lost any hope of escape.

Finally, a transcendent force arrived.

“It’s the Dao Ancestor of the Forbidden Palace!” murmured a Dao Ancestor from a top-tier force in a low voice.

Boom!

Over a hundred Dao Ancestors clad in black armor tore through the void, their overwhelming aura utterly suppressing all the top-tier forces present.

At the forefront was none other than the Palace Master of the Forbidden Palace, a fearsome figure renowned for holding his own against the Fifth Heaven Dao Ancestor, Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain, with the strength of a peak Fourth Heaven Dao Ancestor himself.

As he appeared, many Dao Ancestors were stunned.

“Even… he came? Unbelievable! Is the Realm Beast corpse really that valuable?”

Some Dao Ancestors and True Ancestors, lacking much exposure to such matters, thought this to themselves in astonishment.

“Move in!” The Forbidden Palace Palace Master commanded in a domineering, imperious tone.

At once, the hundred Dao Ancestors of the Forbidden Palace charged into the Fiend Beast Forbidden Zone. Many Dao Ancestors from the other major forces hesitated briefly but ultimately followed them inside.

The entry of such a powerful group into the Fiend Beast Forbidden Zone stirred up immense turmoil, causing many fiend beasts to charge toward them.

But for the fiend beasts to block this many Dao Ancestors was sheer folly; they were instantly annihilated. One fiend beast, even powerful enough to rival a First Heaven Dao Ancestor, was also smashed to death by a single punch from the Forbidden Palace’s Palace Master.

Shortly after, these formidable warriors gathered in front of the Realm Beast’s corpse.

“So it truly is the corpse of a Realm Beast!” The Forbidden Palace Palace Master’s expression turned greedy.

Though his understanding of Realm Beasts was limited, he knew well the astonishing worth of such a corpse. To obtain it would be to hold dominion over boundless treasures and prodigies.

“What a pity it’s not alive. If I could control a living Realm Beast, its value would skyrocket by thousands of times!” The Forbidden Palace Palace Master sighed with regret.

“Dark God Palace Master, come on out!” He called loudly.

With a flash, a Dao Ancestor incarnation appeared—it was indeed the Dark God Palace Master’s avatar.

“Greetings, Forbidden Palace Palace Master. I didn’t expect you to come as well!” the Dark God Palace Master exclaimed in surprise.

“Dark God Palace Master, you can’t keep this Realm Beast corpse. Hand it over to me,” the Forbidden Palace Master commanded.

The Dark God Palace Master chuckled bitterly. “I know I can’t hold onto it, but if we just hand it over, our Dark God Palace will likely cease to exist.”

“What do you want, then?” the Forbidden Palace Master asked irritably.

If not for his fear of damaging the corpse, which could cause the world within it to collapse, he would have already stormed into the Dark God Palace rather than listening to the Dark God Palace Master’s nonsense.

The Dark God Palace Master replied, “Our Dark God Palace has provoked the Void Sky lineage, and they surely won’t let us go. If they declare they won’t unleash carnage upon us, then we’ll hand over the corpse.”

“Fine. I can protect your Dark God Palace; the Void Sky lineage wouldn’t dare make a move against you,” the Forbidden Palace Master assured him.

Hearing this, the Dark God Palace Master smirked inwardly. Is he treating me like a child? This ‘guarantee’ is worthless. He suspected that if he handed over the Realm Beast corpse, his palace would still be defenseless against the Void Sky lineage’s assault.

“Forbidden Palace Master, why not wait for the Void Sky lineage to arrive? If their Void Sky Master personally guarantees and swears an oath, then I’ll hand over the corpse,” the Dark God Palace Master proposed. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

“You…” The Forbidden Palace Master’s fury surged.

By the time the Void Sky lineage arrived, Dao Mountain, the Chaos Lifeform Alliance, and the Starhorn Beast Clan would undoubtedly be here too. When all five transcendent forces gathered, not even the Forbidden Palace could monopolize the Realm Beast corpse.

“Forget it,” he thought to himself. “Monopolizing it isn’t feasible. I’ll just have to try to claim as many benefits as possible.”

Time continued to pass. Soon, another transcendent force arrived—the first group of Dao Ancestors from the Chaos Lifeform Alliance. With a multitude of Chaos lifeform species uniting within the alliance, their forces were scattered and slow to assemble.

The third transcendent force to arrive was Dao Mountain, led by the Dao Mountain Master himself—Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain, accompanied by Dao Ancestor Heavenly Mountain and Dao Ancestor Divine Mountain. With all three of Dao Mountain’s Masters present, their lineup was indeed imposing.

“Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain, it’s been a long time!” greeted the Forbidden Palace Master.

“Forbidden Palace Master, indeed, it has been a while. I thought you’d already entered the Fifth Heaven Dao Ancestor realm, but it seems you’re still at the Fourth,” Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain chuckled. He was a small, elderly figure who stroked his beard while grinning at the Forbidden Palace Master.

The Forbidden Palace Master’s face darkened with irritation. He had long desired to ascend to the Fifth Heaven Dao Ancestor level, but that step proved to be incredibly difficult. In the entire Dao Mountain Domain, only Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain had managed to reach this level.

It wasn’t a matter of lacking talent. Rather, Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain had been deceitful when imparting knowledge, deliberately withholding certain secrets, causing a generation of Dao Ancestors to bear various defects.

The Forbidden Palace Master was one of those flawed Dao Ancestors. Had he not encountered an extraordinary opportunity that allowed him to remedy many of those flaws, he would likely still be lingering at the First Heaven Dao Ancestor level.

While he’d managed to correct many issues, some still remained, making the leap to the Fifth Heaven Dao Ancestor exceedingly difficult. If not for this hindered start, his talent in wielding the Dark Forbidden Power could have propelled him to the rank of Pinnacle True Ancestor, perhaps even the Invincible True Ancestor Realm.

But because of Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain’s sabotage, he had yet to break through to the Fifth Heaven Dao Ancestor.

This grudge ran deep—he had even stormed Dao Mountain over it once.

Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain, however, was a top-tier Fifth Heaven Dao Ancestor. That the Forbidden Palace Master, as a Fourth Heaven Dao Ancestor, could hold his own against him and only barely be at a disadvantage was already a testament to his remarkable strength.

“Damn Dao Mountain!” the Forbidden Palace Master thought furiously. “If not for these flaws, my Forbidden Body might have already achieved minor accomplishment. With even a minor accomplishment Forbidden Body, I could crush Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain as a mere Fourth Heaven Dao Ancestor!”

This time, his desire for the Realm Beast corpse wasn’t merely to seize the world within it. He also hoped to use the Realm Beast’s origin essence to try to resolve his remaining flaws.

If he succeeded in fixing them, he could easily break through to the Fifth Heaven Dao Ancestor level.
