Zombie Apocalypse: Creation-Chapter 782: In the Shadows (Not finish yet)
Will fix tomorrow, sorry about that.
"I don’t know."
"What do you mean you don’t know? They never told you anything about it?" Xiaoyun questioned.
"They never told me about it. The only thing they had told me was how rough it was for them when the outbreak happened."
After hearing Houqin’s answer, Xiaoyun suddenly notices a weird look on her face. It confused him a little before he realized how rude he had been.
"Sorry. I didn’t mean to force you to answer that kind of question... Let’s go outside and meet up with parents again."
---
As the rest of the day went on smoothly, both of Houqin’s parent left with a smile on their faces as they surprisingly got along much better than expected.
The thing that bothered them the most turned out to be the opposite. Both of them were overjoyed when they got to interact with Xiaoyun’s kids.
They couldn’t believe how well-behaved they were, from going to the potty by themselves to taking care of their younger siblings.
More importantly, what came as a surprise was when Xiaoyun’s kids called Houqin’s father and mother grandpa and grandma.
Everyone in the family immediately looked over to Leyan for an answer, but she herself looked just as shocked.
When Yuqi asked Lianrong personally after they had left, they soon learned that they were just calling them that because they looked old.
Still, an impression was made as Houqin’s parent spent the entire afternoon playing with their ’grandkids.’
"Houqin, your parent didn’t need to leave after just finishing dinner. We have extra rooms for them to stay over for the night." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Leyan questioned, with everyone else in the family sitting on the sofa, other than Xiaoyun, who was out to drive Houqin’s parents back.
"They don’t like sleeping on other soft beds... Miss Leyan, why do you want me to stay over for the night?"
"I thought you wanted to talk to Nami more... If you don’t want to stay here, Xiaoyun or Yuqi could drive you back home."
As Houqin looked over to Nami, she was breastfeeding her baby alongside all the other babymamas on the other side of the sofa.
"No need... I-I mean, if it doesn’t bother you guys for me to stay for the night."
"Of course, it doesn’t bother us. You can stay as long as you want... You could even live here full-time if you want."
Leyan’s suggestion was instantly met with a shake as Houqin feverishly rejected it. In her mind, staying anything longer than a day was asking for trouble.
"Hey Houqin, do you live byself right now? Or do you live with your parents?" Anna suddenly asked.
"I live by myself. But I just helped my parents move out of my apartment a few days ago."
"Must be really lonely living by yourself..." Tianci quietly murmured as she leaned back onto the sofa.
"It’s not that bad. I had gotten used to it before they got here." Houqin answered as she shyly looked down at the coffee table.
"You really should move in and live with us. You’re going to be married to Xiaoyun sooner or later anyway."
Wuli’s loud suggestion instantly caused Houqin’s face to blush red, with her hands nervously placed onto her knees.
"Shut up, Wuli, not everyone wants to rush things like a dummy," Shuli argued after noticing the nervousness on Houqin’s face.
"I wasn’t rushing things. It’s called securing the bag——Ouch!"
"When I say shut up, you don’t talk," Shuli warned as she elbowed Wuli right on the side, barely avoiding Wenwen’s body in her arm.
"Don’t listen to Wuli, you can move in any time. We’ll always welcome you." Leyan reassured.
"Thank you... I’ll accept it when it’s time."
"Mommm!"
As Yongyi came running onto Leyan’s leg, she quickly lifted her to her lap before asking what he wanted.
"What does my precious little baby want?"
"I-I’m hungry!"
"You just ate dinner earlier."
The refusal made Yongyi turn around as he looked over to her siblings, who were all sitting in their mother’s arms, drinking their mama’s milk.
"Okay, fine. But just a little. After today, you’re going to need to cut back on it, okay?"
Seeing Yongyi nodding his head, Leyan began lowering her blouse in front of everyone, as she didn’t bother hiding it at all.
"Miss Leyan... D-Do you guys just feed the baby like this?" Houqin curiously asked as she only dared to take a short glance at them.
"Oh, absolutely not. We need to bottle the milk every one or two days. Especially over the weekend for busy Monday and Wednesday."
As Leyan answered with a straight face, Houqin opened her lips again, but no words came out of her mouth as she felt extremely awkward to ask again.
"Mom, I’m pretty sure she’s asking about privacy, not how to feed the baby," Yueyue murmured as she immediately noticed the change on her face.
"Oops, I didn’t realize you’re asking that... We don’t really care about seeing each other’s boob. We’re all Xiaoyun’s wives anyway."
The straightforwardness made Houqin even more shy and uneasy. Her hands constantly moved from her knee to the air and back to her knee.
"Sister Houqin, do you want to go for a walk in the garden?" Lily suddenly offered, as she had nothing much to do sitting on the sofa.
"Sure."
With both Lily and Houqin out of the house, all of Xiaoyun’s wives immediately looked over to Leyan for answers.
"Leyan, why did you keep Houqin inside the house? What are you planning?" Wuli questioned first.
"I’m not planning anything. I just thought it would be a nice gesture for her to stay over for the night rather than needing to go back home."
"Mom, we can smell that bullsh——Ouch!"
"Watch your language," Yuqi warned as she pinched Yueyue right on the ear, preventing her from cursing out loud.
"Sorry, sorry."
"Leyan, what should we do to help their relationship? They’re going to take forever at the rate it is going." Kate pointed out.
"I don’t know. Why are you all asking me? I’m not going to be the one take the blame again."
Seeing Leyan showing zero interest in doing anything, they all immediately looked over to Yuqi for an idea.
"Yuqi, are we really going to wait?" Kate questioned as she seemed not happy with Houqin staying so distant.
"I don’t see what else we could do... Anything we try to rush forward might backfire and distance them even further apart."
"There has to be something we can do. Anna, do you have any ideas?" Kate questioned as she looked over to her.
"Maybe we feed her and Xiaoyun some strong alcohol?"
"That’s just drugging her. Are we really going that low?" Shuli immediately questioned, rejecting her proposal right off the bat.
"Well, they are girlfriend and boyfriend already. They just need a little push to break that thin layer of paper."
As Kate murmured and thought about it on her own, Tianci soon came to speak up with an idea that surprised everyone.
"Why don’t we set up a date for them? Wasn’t that what Leyan had promised to do the last time she met with Houqin’s parents?"
"I said that? When?" Leyan questioned, not believing her word as she dug through her memories inside her head.
"Right at the dinner table. You told us what you talked about the day after you met them... That’s the only idea I can think of."
Looking around, no one could come up with a better idea. Soon, they all turned back over to Leyan once again.
"You’re the one who promised it, you should fulfill it, Mom... Unless you trust Xiaoyun to come up with something." Yuqi pointed out.
"Fine, fine. I’ll come up with something. Can’t believe I have to arrange a date for my husband with another woman..."
"Isn’t tomorrow Sunday as well? We might as well just make them do something like shopping or going to the movies." Yueyue suggested.
"We could do that..." Leyan murmured as she thought deeply for ideas for something that she hadn’t done for years.
"Wait, are we really just going to let Xiaoyun go on a date with Houqin before Lily?" Nami immediately raised her concern.
"Crap, I completely forgot about that... But it shouldn’t matter that much, right? Lily already does it with us on the bed."
Despite Leyan’s attempted excuse, Nami still rejected it. She wasn’t about to let Lily down like this.
"Lily is 100% going to be irritated by it. I know it for a fact she had been waiting for him to do something for her."
"You come up with something that can do both, then. I can’t think of a thing that could satisfy both conditions at once."
"Why don’t we just do a date for Lily first, then do one for Houqin later? It’s not like there’s a rush or anything." Shuli chimed in.
"You got a point, but I doubt Houqin is that blind... She probably already could tell that Lily isn’t actually married to Xiaoyun yet."
As every solution got shot down, Leyan was starting to run out of options... Until the sound of the garage door opening traveled into the living room.
