The next day...

As Xiaoyun woke up from the bed, he was sleeping alone rather than being surrounded by his wives.

They nicely decided to give him a break for once. It was also partially due to the fact that Houqin was in the house.

"Morning, honey. How was your sleep yesterday?"

Leyan was standing right before the stove, cooking something in a big pot as she stirred around something with a spatula.

"Pretty good... Is everyone still asleep?" Xiaoyun asked, walking around the countertop to reach right behind her.

"It's only eight o'clock, and it's the weekend. Why are you up so early? You could be sleeping in right now."

"You're even up earlier than me."

"That's because I needed to feed the babies... Anyway, are you hungry? I can cook some noodles for you."

Looking around her shoulders, Xiaoyun could see a whole pot of dumplings being boiled in hot water.

"I can wait."

"Okay then... Honey, can you stop standing behind me?"

"Why? Do you not want your dear husband to see you cooking? That really hurts my heart, you know..."

Xiaoyun slowly leaned his chin onto her shoulder, only to have Leyan push him away before lowering the stove's heat.

"Stop being so overdramatic. Your breath keeps hitting my neck, that's why I don't want you behind me."

"Fine."

Moving over to the side, he watches her stir the dumplings over and over in a circle as the kitchen fan sucked up all the hot water vapor.

"Why are you stirring the dumpling for? They're already floating in the hot water." Xiaoyun questioned.

"To bring out the seasoning flavor. Why don't you go take a seat and stop questioning me on how to cook?"

Xiaoyun surprisingly listened as he walked over to the dining table, taking a seat before noticing something off about her.

To be more exact, the clothes she wore in the morning. One that made his morning wood arise once again.

"Leyan, don't you think this is a little too revealing to wear in the morning?"

"What's revealing?"

As she took a good look at herself, the wooden spaluta fell into the pot. She was in complete shock as her body was practically naked.

"Oh my god, I completely forgot about this. C-Can you stir the pot for me? Turn off the water in three—"

"Just go. I got it."

Leyan immediately stormed out of the kitchen as Xiaoyun walked over to the pot, his mind thinking back to what Leyan was wearing earlier.

"I'm never going to get tired of seeing her in lingerie, aren't I?"

Stirring up the pot, his lower body started to protest as a massive tent from the lack of sex from last night.

"But why did she wear black lingerie to sleep? That doesn't really look comfortable... Is she trying to bait me on purpose?"

Unable to figure out an answer, Xiaoyun turned off the water as three whole minutes had passed since he had started stirring.

"Should it take it out? Probably."

With a mesh strainer from the cabinet, he began pouring the water into the strainer as it caught all the dumplings.

Next, he moved the dumpling over to a plate, carrying it over to the table as hot steam flew straight up to the ceiling.

"Hm. Why does it smell good without adding any dipping sauce... What did she add to the water?"

Curiosity soon took over as Xiaoyun quickly took a pair of chopsticks from the table before picking up a piece of dumpling.

"Ouch ouch, hot hot!"

After blowing some cold air, he finally ate it again. This time, a bunch of flavor immediately burst into his mouth.

"Mhm... Turmeric... Garlic... White pepper in a pork dumpling?"

"Xiaoyun, what are you doing?"

Turned over to his right, Houqin was standing there, wearing a pair of pajamas that he had seen Shuli wear once in the past.

"Nothing. Ahem, Leyan cooked breakfast for you. Take a seat and eat some... It's kinda hot though, so be careful."

"That's so nice of her..."

Houqin quickly sat down across from him, grabbing a new chopstick that had been on the table to pick up one of the dumplings.

"Oww, it's hot hot hot."

"Told you. It's just been out of boiling water for a minute."

Xiaoyun quickly handed him a cup of water, which she accepted as she chugged it all down before letting out an ah sound.

"Thank you..."

"Hey, what are you all eating?'

The distinct voice traveled from the living room to the kitchen as Yuqi showed up fully dressed in her usual work suits.

"Just some dumpling... Why are you dressed like this? Do you have work today?" Xiaoyun curiously asked.

"Liuqian invited me for some dim sum. I'm supposed to meet him at the restaurant at ten o'clock, though, so I have some time."

"He's inviting you to a dim sum? For what?" Xiaoyun questioned, looking even more intrigued.

"I don't know. Probably something business-related. Anyway, you're lucky you have a date, or else I would have you be with me."

"Thanks, I guess."

"Anyway, hope you two enjoy your nice little dumpling date. I have to go to my office to pick up some things."

As Yuqi walked out of the kitchen, Houqin's face was blushing red as she had almost completely forgotten about the whole date thing.

"Houqin, you okay?'

"I-I'm fine."

"Hey! Xiaoyun, who told you to start eating the dumplings? I haven't even finished cooking it yet."

Leyan immediately questioned as she walked over to the dining table, her face full of anger as half of the dumplings had been eaten.

"The dumplings are beyond cooked. I don't know what you're talking about... Here, you can keep working on it."

Right out of thin air, a whole new plate full of dumplings appeared, the same replica as the one he took out of the pots.

"Hmph!"

Leyan quickly took the new plate in anger and headed over to the countertop as Xiaoyun signalled Houqin to resume eating.

"Just ignore her, she's fretting over nothing."

Despite his reassurance, Houqin stopped eating completely. She rubbed her belly to say she was full, letting him finish the rest.

"Here's the actual finished dumpling, asshole. Take a bite and tell me if it is better or not."

Both Xiaoyun and Houqin could see a mysterious red sauce applied to the dumplings that Leyan had put down onto the table.

At second glance, it had the color that matches up to soy sauce, but it was too solid, which made it more like oyster sauce.

"What did you add to the dumpling?" Xiaoyun questioned, as he didn't eat the dumpling right away.

"Just eat it. I want to test if this sauce is good or not."

After a short consideration, Xiaoyun picked it up with his chopstick and took a bite. Within seconds, he could feel a burning sensation in his mouth.

It wasn't hot. Or it was hot, but not in the temperature. Rather, it was spiciness. So spicy to the point of making his eyes watery.

"Holy shit, what the hell did you add to the dumpling? It's so fucking spicy." Xiaoyun questioned as he chugged down a whole cup of water.

"That's what you get for eating without asking me first... Anyway, Houqin, you want to try it out?"

To both Leyan's and Xiaoyun's surprise, Houqin took her chopstick and picked up a piece. She didn't make any noise as she swallowed it whole.

"Mhm, it's pretty good."

"You don't think it's spicy at all?" Xiaoyun questioned as he grabbed another piece of dumpling with his chopstick.

"I don't think so," Houqin answered as she took up another piece before eating it down like it was nothing.

"Ow ow ow!"

Xiaoyun immediately regretted his second piece as it still tasted as spicy as ever, burning up his tongue as he created a cup of milk this time.

"Houqin, do you like spicy food?" Leyan curiously asked.

"I ate a lot of it before... I think it's okay. I don't hate it or anything." Houqin vaguely answered.

"Looks like I'm going to need to adjust my cooking in the future then."

"Oh, please no. Don't add spicy food. The lsat thing we need is spicy food when we... we have pregnant people in the household."

"You aren't wrong... I guess that will be reserved for rare occasions then."

As Xiaoyun wiped a sweat off his forehead, he still couldn't believe how spicy Leyan had managed to change with the new dumplings.

"Houqin, you like the dumplings?" Leyan curiously asked as she noticed Houqin had eaten the whole thing already.

"A little bit..."

Houqin shyly answered, her face looking a little embarrassed as she herself couldn't believe how many spicy dumplings she had eaten.

"Xiaoyun, make more dumplings. I need to add more spice for her."

"Here."

With zero hesitation, a new plate full of dumplings reappeared as Leyan headed back over to the counter with it.

"Houqin, your spicy tolerance is a lot higher than I had imagined... Do Northerners eat a lot of spicy food?"

"My parents took me to Chengdu and Chongqing a lot when I was a kid."
