One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 945 - 943: Leader of the Resistors
"Hmm?" Igor was puzzled as to why the burly man thought he couldn’t withstand the teleportation spell. It’s not like he hadn’t experienced it before. Nevertheless, he appreciated the warning but still carried Nonoa on his back, unwilling to put him down.
"Very loyal. Remember to open your mouth when the time comes; it makes the teleportation less uncomfortable," the burly man continued, admiring Igor’s attitude towards Nonoa.
The Skeletal Knight felt quite uncomfortable. He hadn’t expected the legendary Resistor leader to be so straightforward, not a bit of nonsense, unwilling to linger—simply coming and going in a hurry. If this went on, his efforts would be in vain; he couldn’t let that happen!
Thus, the Skeletal Knight could no longer worry about so much, directly swinging a sword: "A Thousand Armies!"
In an instant, countless cavalry charged towards Tobin and the others. This was the energy released by the Skeletal Knight—his attack method was Illusory Sword Qi.
"Tricks of the trade!" The elder beside Tobin, holding an axe, remained calm, directly slamming the axe onto the ground. Instantly, the ground began to tremble, causing the charging armies to deviate from their original trajectory. Some ran too fast and got stuck underground, unable to extricate themselves, while those coming from behind were tripped over by those ahead... In the blink of an eye, the phantom cavalry was thus wiped out!
The Skeletal Knight became unsettled. The other party had four executives, one leader, all King Rank; he was no match. But he couldn’t just watch them escape like this. How could he explain to his master?
Igor hadn’t expected Tobin to start the teleportation spell so decisively, not hesitating for a moment, nor entangled with those soul devourers.
"Wait, take that net!" Igor shouted.
Igor’s shout surprised the Skeletal Knight. At this moment, he no longer cared about reporting back. Retrieving that net was crucial, or he’d return empty-handed, losing a magical item—what a mess that would be!
The Skeletal Knight tugged his mount, hurrying towards the net. It was a magical item belonging to his master, and he couldn’t just let it go.
"Useless trash!" He complained about the six High Rank soul devourers as he ran. Those devourers had long been immobilized, shattered by the earlier clash with the axe-wielding elder.
"Dream on!" The burly man with the broadsword beside Tobin swung his sword, preventing the Skeletal Knight from approaching the net.
The Skeletal Knight could never have imagined the Resistor leader would arrive here with these four executives. He thought he had calculated everything, but miscalculated one step, not expecting the leader to flee so swiftly!
These soul devourers were seeing the teleportation spell for the first time; Tobin hadn’t used it before.
"Hurry up!" Tobin urged. Once the blue circle beneath them fully formed, they could leave smoothly. By then, reclaiming the net would be impossible. Although Tobin didn’t know why Igor wanted the net, he accepted Igor’s choice and let those around him participate in the net retrieval.
"Watch me!" The only woman beside Tobin brandished her whip, cracking it with a crisp sound. The whip shot towards the net.
The moment the whip touched the net, sparks flew. Then, with a flick of her wrist, the whip materialized out of thin air vanished!
Tobin Sol paused, then quickly threw a pair of gloves: "Shana, take this. It can absorb burning energy!"
The woman named Shana immediately donned the gloves and within moments manifested a whip, wrapped it around the net, and retrieved it.
The Skeletal Knight swung his sword fiercely, trying to prevent all this from happening, but was helpless as his scimitar was entangled with another machete.
The Spirit Binding Net flew to Tobin’s side. Tobin dared not delay, catching it with a special pouch. Meanwhile, the blue circle on the ground had just completed!
"No!" the Skeletal Knight shouted, but it was in vain since Igor and the others had already teleported away with Tobin...
Now, in this vast place, only the Skeletal Knight remained, fuming with anger and worry. Having failed the mission, he could only expect punishment from his master upon return...
He glanced around; the few non-fully shattered High Rank soul devourers were still groaning foolishly. Suddenly, the Skeletal Knight found a target for his anger, slowly driving his mount towards those six soul devourers. He would devour them one by one, gaining more power, so he could withstand his master’s punishment later...
Igor and the others, thanks to Tobin’s teleportation spell, instantly arrived at another place...
Igor still carried Nonoa on his back. At this moment, he followed these resistors to an unfamiliar place, seemingly unscathed compared to the previous open plain.
"Didn’t expect your adaptability to be so strong!" said the burly man who had earlier warned Igor about the discomfort of teleportation. He noticed Igor remained unaffected during the entire process, completely beyond his expectations.
"Did you think everyone is as useless as you?" Shana immediately retorted.
Igor scanned his surroundings and noticed that besides the four who had teleported with Tobin, there were two unfamiliar faces here, both looking solemn, seemingly with significant concerns.
"All right, enough. Is this the person the Soul Devourer Master wants?" one of the unfamiliar faces interrupted the argument that was about to erupt.
"Yes!" Tobin answered coldly.
Igor set down Nonoa, looking at the people around him. "Is this the headquarters of the Resistors?"
"The Resistors have no headquarters. We just gathered here for a particular matter!"
"Oh, Nonoa mentioned you have many people too. But why gather here instead of where Nonoa is? That way, he wouldn’t have ended up like this!"
"We appreciate you protecting Nonoa’s body. It was indeed our fault not to arrive in time!" Tobin Sol replied sincerely.
"Is there hope for him?" Igor asked. He knew his previous outburst was pointless, but he needed to express it for his peace of mind.
"Don’t worry, with our leader around, that lad Nonoa will be fine. But you, what the hell, dare to speak to our leader like that!" Another unfamiliar face couldn’t hold back, responding to Igor with a rather unfriendly tone.
