Meng Yunhan was so angry that she was trembling. She wanted to fight with Han Yichen, but she did not dare to. She spun on her feet and ran back to her room, leaving Han Ziyan alone. For the first time, Meng Yunhan felt resentful toward her precious daughter, who caused her to be humiliated like this. It was Han Ziyan’s idea to call the old witch and have her perform the exorcism, but when things went out of control, she stayed behind and did not say a word!

"Ye..Yes?" Han Ziyan jumped in the air when she saw that the mouth of the gun had turned on her. She was now feeling regretful. She should have run after her mother instead of staying back and trying to act like a good daughter. If she had known that the smell of gunpowder would reach her as well, she would have hidden long ago in her room.

"I don’t know how much you were involved in this entire mess, but I don’t think that you were innocent either." Old Madam Han knew that this girl was not simple and could not help but doubt her.

"No...no!" Han Ziyan shook her head and then spoke in an aggrieved voice, "I did not do anything. It was Mom, Mom wanted to cleanse sister because she is not like before—"

"What do you mean, I am no longer as I used to be?" Han Ruochen stepped out of the kitchen after washing her face. The smell of blood was still sticking to her, but she did not want to miss anything lest Han Ziyan start to badmouth her behind her back. See, was she not right?

She glanced at Han Ziyan and calmly stated in a hard, cold voice, "Am I supposed to act as your stepping stone all my life and the day I stop acting like one, I am possessed? What kind of silly and nonsensical logic is that? Han Ziyan, if you bully a rabbit, even a rabbit will bite back. I am still human! Mom wanted to snatch my job and give it to you, so that you can marry Yang Jianming with big fanfare, but what about me? She wanted to sell me off to a fool or maybe an old man. Han Ziyan was tongue-tied and could not say anything. She couldn’t tell Han Ruochen that that was how it was supposed to be, that she and her family owed this to her.
