Chapter 207: Finally Meeting Draugr (I)
Quickly moving away from the news and onto his schedule, White narrowed down a time he would be able to meet him, and that was the cafeteria, which would be in 3 hours.
Third-years, as they were, even they weren’t allowed to miss the cafeteria.
It was a necessary rule, and one that only helped White.
He moved to the map area after and quietly began piecing together hidden locations where he could lure and perfectly murder a student, have him buried, and never discovered until years later.
Everything he saw on the map only further improved the memory he already had, and he soon narrowed down a spot, marking it red.
A place to find him, and a good spot to lure him to, kill and bury him.
’It’s done.’
White thought quietly, shifting back and resting on the sofa as he exhaled with his eyes closed.
At that moment, the system panel suddenly flashed.
[Don’t you think you’re rushing too much into killing him?]
It said, though White remained unmoving.
[I mean, his destroying your squad is only meant to happen nine and a half years from now.]
[And you don’t even have a squad, meaning there’s a high chance he won’t ever cross you at all this time.]
[He probably doesn’t even become a Supernatural until at least seven years from now.]
[Right now, he’s just an ordinary student who could be bearing the same hate for Supernaturals as much as you have.]
[Hate to say it, White, but right now... the man’s innocent.]
The system said, and White nodded.
"You’re right. He’s innocent."
He admitted, before rising to his feet and moving to the door, which shut behind him.
___________
The cafeteria was in the shape of a large warehouse, with over 200 recruits, but someone was the center of attention, and that was the towering, horned young man who sat on one of the levitated platforms in the cafeteria.
"Did you see him? Is that even a human?"
"Some say he’s a Homo Aetherius."
"It’s been six months into the third year of training. Why would the academy suddenly decide to make him a third year?"
"Did they really think that he fits in with us?"
"Maybe he’s just that strong."
"Or just another dude in need of a military certificate and managing to get in due to his background."
"Exactly. Why else would he choose to come in at third year, when it was already close to graduation?"
There were a lot of murmurs, but White didn’t care for them.
He sat at the table, his fingers tapping every three seconds.
Not two seconds, not one second, every three full seconds, as his eyes were locked right onto the entrance.
"Hello, can I have a seat here?"
A feminine voice echoed by his side, but White remained unmoving.
His eyes never once shifted, nor did his finger stop tapping.
The sight of that made Julia’s eyes narrow slightly.
The young man was beyond hyper-focused, and when she turned to where his focus lay, it was just the entrance.
Is he waiting for someone?
"I’ll just sit at the side."
She said with a smile, but still, he remained unmoving as ever.
The cafeteria was almost filled, yet White couldn’t find Draugr anywhere.
He turned his eyes away, looking around to see if there were any of his EndX club, but he noticed they were also nowhere to be found.
"Is there another club fight going on right now?"
White muttered beneath his breath, his foot adding to the nervous tapping.
But then, in that moment, his ears picked up on boisterous laughter, and his gaze snapped forward.
There, stepping into the cafeteria entrance, with both arms hanging over the shoulders of two other students, was a man that White could never forget.
Standing about 1.9 meters tall, extremely lanky, with crooked eyes and a crooked smile, long dark hair, and those same eyes framing an averagely handsome face.
It was a person who made White’s grin stretch to his ears.
"Draugr."
His whisper pierced through the murmurs of the cafeteria, and in that moment, Draugr suddenly shivered.
He froze after, something the two beside him were able to quickly notice and call attention to.
"Hey, what’s up?"
They asked, as Draugr quickly looked around.
He noticed the majority of the students were looking at something, and he followed their gaze.
There was a scene he couldn’t believe.
A horned, white-haired young man sat on a cafeteria table.
Dark-complexioned, with crimson and dark eyes, he looked right at him, his gaze seemingly piercing into his soul, and on his face was the widest grin Draugr had ever seen.
There was no food before him at all, just both hands folded, while the seat opposite him remained vacant.
"And who is that?"
One of the two beside him asked, noticing White, whose gaze never wavered.
"Let’s find out."
Draugr said, as all three began walking toward White.
The students along the way shifted their tables and seats, opening a path for them until they arrived at White’s table.
Draugr took the seat directly opposite him before snapping his fingers, and the two behind him walked off toward the serving area to get him food.
"I don’t think I’ve ever seen your face around here before."
Draugr said, reclining in his seat with his legs crossed.
"I just transferred."
White replied.
"Oh, really? Why suddenly gain an interest in the UEF? Need some certificate for that family position?"
Draugr said with a dark chuckle, but it froze when he watched the young man lean forward, close to him, and then whisper:
"Actually, I came here for one and only one purpose."
BAADUUMP!
BAADUUMP!
BAADUUMP!
The sound of a pounding heart echoed in that moment, coming from none other than Draugr, who felt his heartbeat spiral out of control.
There was an unexplainable cold, but his eyes never dared leave White’s lips, which moved, completing the words:
"I came here to end you, Draugr Uranus."
