Chapter 822: I Need To Talk To All of You
Fredrica could only sigh tiredly as she remembered the interaction between her and Mira, and Fredrica hoped that she hadn’t given herself a bad name with Mira because of it! Things between Jason and Gaia were already tense, so it would be hell if they got on the bad side of the mother of the strongest man in the world!
Fredrica continued to wait for Jason to arrive on Earth, and all of a sudden, there was a pulse of power from somewhere far away, and Fredrica looked up in shock as she felt a sweat drop down the side of her face! That pulse of power was the signal that Jason and Gina had arrived on Earth, but what Fredrica was feeling now was completely unexplainable! Fredrica could see that every other superhuman around her was feeling the same thing! They could all tell that the strength of the two people who had just arrived was beyond their understanding! Fredrica took in deep breaths to calm herself, and she was about to tell the soldiers to prepare to move out so they could meet with Jason, but before she could give the order, Fredrica felt her eyes widen as Jason’s power suddenly appeared right in front of them!
DOON!
"!"
Fredrica felt a tremor travel through her body, and she stumbled backward in shock! Every single soldier around Fredrica also took multiple steps back, and some of them even fell to their knees as they felt the tremor! Fredrica watched in shock as two figures rose slowly from the shadows. Gina Fey had a smile on her face as she looked towards the Marc restaurant in front of them, but Jason Marc’s face had a hard expression on it as he looked around at all the military personnel around his mother’s restaurant! Jason shifted his gaze towards Fredrica, and Fredrica felt her entire body lock up in fear as she stared at Jason! Fredrica couldn’t move! She couldn’t even breathe! It felt like she was drowning in a deep ocean, and there was no amount of struggling that would allow her to escape! Jason took a step closer to Fredrica, and Fredrica nearly fainted!
"Jason Marc. It’s an honor to welcome you back to Earth. I see your trip around the Primordial Expanse has proven very fruitful. But I would appreciate it if you tried to reduce your power output even more. You’re going to kill someone at this rate."
Jason couldn’t help but scoff in amusement as he heard that familiar voice from behind him, and Jason turned around to see Cercei standing there with his hands behind his back. Cercei had a calm look on his face to show that he wasn’t affected by Jason’s intense mana, but Jason knew that Cercei was probably using a magical artefact or a rune to negate the pressure. Cercei was just a regular human, so there was no way he could withstand Jason’s mana on his own. Jason looked Cercei over calmly, and he frowned in annoyance before he spoke.
"You’re still in one piece. I hoped you’d be dead by now."
Cercei’s only response to that was to smile calmly, and he nodded and spoke kindly.
"Death is still far from me, Jason. I’ve made sure of that. Now, I don’t suppose you would be willing to cooperate with a very brief examination to allow us to determine the danger levels your mana poses to the general public for – Jason, wait!"
Cercei had been cut off as Jason suddenly turned around and began to walk away from him without bothering to listen to what he was saying! Cercei stretched his hand out to try to stop Jason, but Jason just waved back to him nonchalantly.
"I’ll deal with all of that later. For now, one of my subordinates is going to take you somewhere. Wait for me there until I get back. I need to talk to all of you."
Cercei blinked in shock as he wondered what Jason was talking about, but Cercei could only curse in his head as a shadowy figure appeared from behind him and grabbed his shoulder before pulling him to the ground and taking him away! The Gaia agents could only watch helplessly as their leader was dragged away without any ceremony at all, and since they were all deathly terrified of Jason at that moment, there was nothing any of them could even do! As Jason approached the entrance of the restaurant with Gina, they both began to suppress their magic even more, until they were barely releasing one percent of their full mana capacity! It was impossible for them to cut off their mana completely, so the best they could do was to reduce the output to just about one percent! But even with just this much, the agent who had been standing in front of the restaurant door felt a shiver pass through his body, and he quickly moved out of the way and made space for Jason and Gina to walk through the door.
Ring~!
The bell at the top of the door jingled as Jason entered the restaurant, and Jason took a moment to appreciate just how much the restaurant had changed in the time he was gone. The restaurant was not only bigger, but it was now more extravagantly decorated, and everything had been upgraded for them to be able to serve more people. At the side, Juliet was sitting together with Francis and Janet, and they were staring at Jason with looks of disbelief on their faces, but Jason’s eyes were completely focused on the woman standing opposite him with wide eyes. Mira was wearing an apron that had some stains on it, and her hair was slightly tussled, but Jason didn’t care about any of that. Jason tilted his head to one side and spoke with a coy smile.
"Table for two?"
Mira sniffled as tears immediately began to stream down her face like a river, and she rushed forward and grabbed Jason into the tightest hug he had ever received! Mira pressed her face into Jason’s shoulder and cried like a baby, and Jason wrapped a hand around his mother’s thin waist and held her close before putting his other hand on the back of her head to hold her to his chest. Jason spoke up with a calm, peaceful voice:
"I’m back, Mom. Sorry I took so long."
Mira sniffled once again, and she pulled back with a teary smile while running her hand over Jason’s face happily! Mira pulled Jason down and leaned up to kiss Jason’s forehead, and Jason closed his eyes and enjoyed the moment of peace with his mother.
"I missed you so much, baby. I prayed every day that you would come back safe. Thank you for coming back to me."
Mira’s voice was a low, teary whisper that barely anyone but Jason could hear, and Jason nodded calmly to his mother. Jason looked over his mother’s appearance, and even though Mira tried to hide it well, Jason could still see the dark circles and worry lines on her face from how much she stressed over him. Jason never wanted to put his mother through something like this because he already knew how hard it was when his father vanished, so Jason was just glad that he managed to survive and come back to her. Jason didn’t even want to know what would have happened to Mira if he had died, and Jason made it his personal mission to make sure something like that never happened!
Mira patted Jason’s chest a few times as her smile widened even more, and Jason smiled as Mira finally turned to the side to see Gina waiting patiently for them to finish! Mira’s face brightened up like a Christmas tree once she saw Gina, and Gina smiled happily as Mira walked over and gave her a deep hug as well!
"Welcome back, baby! You look absolutely radiant!"
Mira ran her hand over Gina’s cheek with a loving smile, and Gina blushed.
