The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!
Chapter 433: Outsmarted Ones Fall Prey to Their Own Schemes
Qian Baoshan’s sinister smile had not yet faded when it was replaced by shock.
Then, he covered his throat, staring wide-eyed at the woman.
Blood surged from Qian Baoshan’s fingers, and he reached out with one hand, as if trying to point at her, or perhaps to snap her neck.
But his hand only got halfway before it limply dropped, the malice and shock fixed on his face.
The woman’s eyes were bloodshot, filled with a deep-seated hatred, an unyielding determination and courage, a desperate resolve for an all-or-nothing gamble.
Perhaps killing someone gave her courage, or rather, provided a satisfying outlet for her hatred. She pulled out the dagger and charged at the other two people.
At this moment, her eyes were filled only with boundless resentment; she couldn’t forget how these three men had violated her, how they had abused her. They had taken away not only her innocence, but also her hopes and the chance for survival. They plunged her into despair, destroying her life.
Why should she fear revenge?
She was prepared to die, so why couldn’t she take these three demons with her?
She thought frantically as she rushed at Qian Baoshan’s accomplices, thrusting the dagger at their necks. Stabbing and withdrawing, she moved to the next, blood splattering on her face. Quick, ruthless, accurate!
Not only were Qian Baoshan and those three women shocked by this scene, but Xia Wenjin was also surprised.
In fact, Xia Wenjin’s heart leaned more toward handing them over to the government.
Letting the government handle it, ensuring they received deserved punishment.
Originally, the three women had already been swayed by this idea, but Qian Baoshan’s words drove them to despair.
If he was handed over, he could be free the next day, so what was the point of all they had endured before? What was the point of the life they had lost?
So, in extreme despair and resentment, the youngest woman exploded.
Then, the other two women followed. Initially stunned when the youngest woman killed Qian Baoshan, their gate opened wide, and they charged at Qian Baoshan, biting him furiously.
At this moment, they felt their sharpest weapon was their teeth.
They didn’t know Qian Baoshan was already dead.
Madly biting, crying out loud, as if to express all the pain they had endured.
Xia Wenjin focused more on the youngest woman, who, after killing Qian Baoshan and his two accomplices, held the dagger to her own chest.
Xia Wenjin hastily grabbed a teacup from the table and threw it.
The teacup hit the dagger, knocking it away.
The woman stared blankly at Xia Wenjin, then said sorrowfully, "I have avenged myself; I can die in peace now."
Xia Wenjin raised an eyebrow and said, "Is this really how you plan to die?"
The woman’s vacant eyes moved, and she walked up to Xia Wenjin, kneeling heavily.
Xia Wenjin asked in surprise, "Why are you kneeling?"
The woman kowtowed and said, "Thank you for bringing us out and letting me avenge myself in person! I’ll repay this great debt in my next life!"
The other two women, having fiercely vented, were holding pieces of Qian Baoshan’s flesh, crying uncontrollably. Seeing this, they too came over and kowtowed to Xia Wenjin.
Xia Wenjin helped them up, saying, "Your revenge is your own doing. I did say I would take you home. Have you decided where you want to go?"
The three exchanged glances, and this time the oldest woman spoke on their behalf. She said to Xia Wenjin, "Now our wish is fulfilled; we have nothing left to hold us back. Though we have limited experiences, we understand that murder means paying with one’s life. We killed these three men, not you. Miss, you should go quickly; we’ll repay your kindness in our next lives."
Xia Wenjin didn’t expect them to say something like this.
They were ready to pay for murder, but still remembered to let her leave. Their character was commendable. Despite being in a tragic situation, with a calamity ruining their lives, they didn’t harbor a negative mindset to drag someone else down with them. It was clear their nature was still kind.
Xia Wenjin curiously asked, "Why do you keep talking about death? Now the bad men are dead, which is their deserved punishment. Why don’t you want to live?"
The three women showed hopeless smiles, one murmuring, "We want to live, but can we really? Forget murder for murder, even if we hadn’t killed anyone, where could we go? We’ve lost our purity; living in this world would only bring humiliation and ridicule. People’s spittle alone could drown us. We don’t want to live such a life, being poked at and ridiculed forever. Why live if that’s all there is to it? It’s better to end it all!"
The other two women nodded in agreement, the oldest one bitterly adding, "We won’t need to wait for people’s spittle to drown us; my father would drown me in the water directly. I’m a disgrace, shaming my ancestors; my parents would never forgive me!"
Their eyes showed complete despair, devoid of any will to live.
Xia Wenjin picked up the dagger, but the three didn’t attempt to seize it for suicide. They thought plainly: there were three bodies here, and the government would definitely search for the culprits. If they died, what if the government didn’t know they were the killers and implicated this lady?
They would go directly to the government to confess. It would need courage. Let the government execute them. They had avenged themselves, feeling freer and lighter than ever before.
Xia Wenjin considered and asked, "Do you want to die because you think living guarantees humiliation and disgrace, disdain and people’s scorn? Why not start anew elsewhere? Go to a place where no one knows you, where your experiences are unknown. You can live purely and freely, living life the way you want."
The three exchanged doubtful looks, finding it hard to believe such a good opportunity existed.
The oldest woman, burdened with thoughts, said, "Miss, you’re oversimplifying things. We have no skills or abilities. How can we survive anywhere else?"
Her hometown fell into disaster; she intended to seek relatives in the Capital City. Yet, her aunt refused to shelter her, claiming she couldn’t even support herself. She was nabbed by Qian Baoshan under sedation during her most desperate and helpless moment.
There were no more relatives she could turn to. Not even the only relative, her aunt, would help. Who would?
The world is vast, but where could she go? She couldn’t do anything; she was merely a burden!
