Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1486: I’m Not Anxious or Indecisive
So just like that, Trevor called Simon and asked him to push the meeting back by half an hour, then personally drove her home.
Sitting in the passenger seat, Janelle Mills felt a little awkward. Her thoughts were a bit of a mess, she couldn’t focus at all, her mind kept wandering everywhere.
He’d just taken the initiative to hold her hand. Did that mean something else?
Or... was he just simply teaching her how to grab the claw machine dolls?
Trevor drove with his eyes calmly on the road ahead, always giving off this gentlemanly, steady vibe. No one could tell what he was thinking.
When he dropped Janelle off at home, he still didn’t forget to remind her, "Take all your dolls with you."
"Okay." Janelle Mills nodded. After getting out, she lifted the two big bags from the back seat. "Thanks, bye!"
She watched as Trevor drove away.
At this time, Carlotta Sterling was still sulking in the living room. Seeing her daughter come in with two big bags of dolls in her hands, she stared at her. "What are those?"
"Dolls from the claw machine!" She had her good mood written all over her face.
Janelle walked forward a few steps and noticed the empty bowl on the dining table. She went closer and asked, "Sister Sterling, you just had noodles for lunch? Something that simple?"
"Janelle Mills, where did you get all this stuff?" Carlotta raised an eyebrow. "You couldn’t have been bored enough to go play the claw machine by yourself, right? And you could actually win them?"
"What’s that supposed to mean?" Her daughter arched a brow. "I, I, I admit I can’t catch anything, but Trevor can! Look, these are all his trophies! Isn’t he amazing?"
Carlotta glanced at the bags in her hands, eyeballing at least thirty dolls, and thought to herself that this Trevor was actually pretty clever.
"Are you two officially dating?" Carlotta locked her gaze on her daughter’s face and asked bluntly. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Janelle didn’t answer directly. She just carried the bags upstairs. "You should worry about you and Old Mills first! Don’t meddle so much in young people’s business!" As if she were carrying two huge bags of treasure.
After going upstairs, Janelle started thinking about how to store all these dolls.
After mulling it over, she felt she needed two big transparent cylindrical storage bins. Putting them next to the bed would make her happy just looking at them.
So she used her phone to navigate and found a nearby boutique, then happily headed downstairs to go buy them.
As soon as she reached the living room on the first floor, Carlotta blocked the doorway, cutting off her path. "Has he confessed to you?" In her mother’s eyes, this was a serious question.
"Not yet." She was candid too.
"Then can’t you be a little more reserved?" Carlotta looked her up and down, a bit exasperated. "Can you act like a girl? If he really likes you, there’s no way he’d let you be so anxious and unsure, sticking to him all day long."
"I’m not anxious or unsure, I’m really happy right now!" Janelle brushed past her mother. "Think about you and Old Mills! As long as you two don’t remarry, I’m not getting married either!"
She hummed a little tune and ran off far away!
Trevor’s car still hadn’t reached the office yet when his phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number. He thought for a few seconds before answering. "Hello."
"Trevor." A woman’s voice came through. "I’m Finn Morgan’s mother, Jocelyn’s aunt. I’d like to ask you out for a cup of coffee. Is now convenient?"
Trevor thought for a moment, and before he could answer, Jasmine added, "Don’t worry, I won’t take up too much of your time, I just want a quick word with you."
"Okay." Trevor agreed, only because she was an elder.
Five minutes later, in a quiet, nicely set café nearby, by the window, Jasmine and Trevor sat across from each other at a table.
The waiter brought over two lattes and two delicate little desserts.
"Trevor, thank you," Jasmine began gratefully. "For doing your best to look for Jocelyn, and for being the first one among us to actually find her."
