Hanabi and Jane rushed to the Syphiruz Medical Facility after hearing the news of what happened to Alexander.

Tatsumi was talking to the doctor when Hanabi and Jane arrived.

"We've almost lost him. If you brought him a little bit late, we couldn't have revived him. But Mr. Alexander is still in critical condition. He has internal bleeding from the brute force. His body is already weak and frail from the lashes. But he got new bruises… Did someone assault him?" The doctor asked Tatsumi.

"W-What the hell happened?" Hanabi suddenly butted in, her heart pounding so hard against her chest. She had mixed feelings right now.

Did she hear it right? Alexander almost died. And he was in critical condition. He was still in his cheerful mood when she left him. How did he end up like this?

Tatsumi took a deep sigh. "Honestly, I have no idea. The Butler just found him lying unconscious on the floor. The bucket and mop were scattered beside him."

"I didn't get the chance to interrogate those men who were with him in the quarters because I rushed him here," he added.

Hanabi was still shocked about this incident, and her body started shaking uncontrollably from anxiety. She was so worried about Alexander.

"What should I do? How can I explain this to his grandpa? He asked me to take care of Alexander… But I–" Hanabi wasn't able to finish her words as she broke down into tears.

Jane could only hug her, trying to comfort her. From their current spot, they could see Alexander, his mouth covered with an oxygen mask.

"Shhhh. Don't blame yourself, Hanabi. This is not your fault," Jane softly said, rubbing her back.

"Tsk! Don't worry. I will investigate what happened. Lady Jane, since you are both here, I have to leave now and go back to your father's villa. I will interrogate those members!"

Jane nodded. "Okay, Tatsumi. I'll count on you. Update us as soon as possible."

Tatsumi gently ruffled Hanabi's hair before he headed out. This was the first time he saw her cry like that.

'I swear, I'm going to get to the bottom of this. It's so rare for us to see Hanabi cry. I know she is worried sick about him. This only means that Alexander is important to her.'

Hanabi continued sobbing in Jane's chest. She was so scared right now. Alexander's bright smile before she left him still lingered in her mind.

"Sis Jane… I don't want him to die. My heart is clenching… I feel like I am being suffocated… I can't bear to see him like that. I am used to seeing his strong side."

Jane continued stroking her hair. "I understand how you feel, Hanabi. You have to be strong. The doctor will do everything to save him. Remember… Nathan and I miraculously survived… I think Alexander is going to be fine. Just have faith… and let's pray for his recovery." She wanted to reassure Hanabi.

Jane was still comforting Hanabi when suddenly they heard the commotion in the hallway. It turned out Jack and Spade had arrived together with Arthur Wayne.

"Where is our Boss? What did you do to him?" Jack's angry voice echoed in the hallway.

He was charging in Jane's direction. However, before he could even reach the ladies, someone already grabbed him from behind, shoving him to the wall.

"Don't make a scene here. And don't you dare lay a hand on my woman! I'll kill you!" Nathan said sternly, giving Jack a warning glare.

"Hey, stop! Stop! We are not here to pick a fight!" Spade came to the rescue. "We are here to see our Big Boss. What happened to him?"

"I-Is my grandson a-alright?" Arthur Wayne asked Hanabi in his trembling voice.

He didn't come to blame anyone. Because, from the start, he was the cause of this. His grandson sacrificed to protect him. And this was the payment for his sin.

"Mr. Wayne… He is still under observation. I have to apologize for this. We never intend to hurt Alexander. We are still investigating how he ended up like this," Jane spoke up on Hanabi's behalf.

The old man fell silent, shifting his gaze to his unconscious grandson, who was hanging between life and death. He slowly approached the glass wall, pressing his palm on the surface as though he was touching Alexander.

The old man's tears fell from the corners of his eyes. "Please, Alex… you have to live."

Spade was also on the verge of crying. He stood beside Arthur Wayne, supporting him.

Meanwhile, Nathan finally released Jack from his grip. Then he moved closer to Jane. "Are you okay? Please don't get stressed over this. It's not good for your pregnancy."

"Sis Jane… you have to go home and rest. I'll stay here with them," Hanabi suggested while wiping her tears away.

"Okay. Hanabi. If you need anything, just don't hesitate to inform me. I'm always here for you."

"Thanks, Sis…"

Jane gave her one last hug before she left with Nathan.

"What is on your mind?" Nathan asked, gently guiding her to his car.

Jane sighed deeply before answering him.

"I think… Hanabi finally acknowledged her feelings toward Alexander. I just hope… it's not too late for them. He is still in critical condition… I know how scared Hanabi was when she saw him like that. I don't want to see any more deaths, Nate… Alexander is a good man. Honestly, I am rooting for both of them… that's why I agreed to let him stay here. I want Hanabi to realize her feelings for Alexander, but… this happened…"

Jane's voice trembled as she fought back her tears. "Is it my fault, Nate? If I hadn't agreed… Alexander wouldn't be in this predicament…"

Nathan reached out, gently wiping her tears. "Of course not. This isn't your fault. You have a good intention. It's just that we didn't anticipate that this would happen to him. Tatsumi will make sure to discipline those men who assaulted him."

"What if this were my father's order? What should I do, Nate? I will feel more responsible for this."

Nathan gave her a reassuring smile. "Your father is a decent man, Jane. He will not resort to this kind of thing if he truly wants to kill Alexander. I believe he also spared Alexander and held back at that time because of you and Hanabi. He cares about you and Hanabi more than his revenge. Just trust him."

Hearing those words, Jane finally calmed down. "Thanks, Nate. Let's go and see my father. I want to talk to him about this incident. I also feel sorry for Alexander."

"Your wish is my command, my Love," Nathan responded before giving her a quick kiss.

The two of them headed to Mr. Hiroshi's villa. Upon entering the gate, the couple saw a group of men lining up in front of Tatsumi. They were kneeling while raising their arms above their head. Tatsumi was holding a leather whip.

"So… who is going to tell me what happened to Alexander? Spill the beans now while I'm still being patient." He threatened them.

Jane and Nathan walked toward them when Mr. Hiroshi showed up from behind. He was standing next to Mr. Kazuki, Tatsumi's father.

"What's going on here, Tatsumi? Why are you disciplining our men?" Mr. Kazuki asked, rushing in Tatsumi's direction.

The men's eyes lit up when they saw the two old men as though they were their saviors.
