100 Days to Seduce the Devil
Chapter 949: The Birth of A New Family Member
Eight Months Later…
Nathan kept pacing back and forth across the hospital hallway. Jane was giving birth to their second child.
It's been two hours since she was transferred to the operating room. Until now, the doctor hadn't come out yet.
"Dad, relax. Mom and my sister will be alright." Ethan said, tugging his father's hand.
Everyone was waiting to hear good news, praying for Jane's successful and safe delivery. They hoped that she would give birth to a healthy baby.
Old Man Xu and Mr. Hiroshi had been kneeling in the hospital chapel for an hour now.
Their family and friends were at the mansion, monitoring and waiting for updates from the hospital. They had mixed emotions right now– nervous and excited.
It didn't take long before the door of the operating room slid open and the soft cry of an infant echoed inside.
The doctor happily approached Nathan and Ethan.
"It's done. A normal delivery. Both the mother and the baby are safe. She is a healthy baby girl."
Nathan's eyes lit up upon hearing that. He felt like a heavy burden was lifted from his shoulders, making him feel relieved.
"Thank you, Doc!" Nathan grabbed the doctor's hand.
"You can change into a lab coat so that you can see your wife and your daughter. You can bring your son with you."
After hearing those words, Nathan and Ethan didn't waste their time. They quickly put on lab gowns and entered the operating room.
They stopped midway the moment they saw the little angel lying on Jane's bare chest.
"My daughter…"
"My sister…"
The father and son blurted out in unison.
Jane smiled and called them. "Come closer."
Nathan carried Ethan in his arms before making his way to Jane and their baby girl.
"Mommy! Is my baby sis alright? Is she hurt? I heard her crying a while ago." Ethan rambled spontaneously while staring at them curiously.
"Don't worry, Baby Hazel is fine. She stopped crying when the nurse placed her on my chest. See, she is well-behaved."
Nathan and Ethan glanced at the little angel who was now asleep in her mother's chest. Her eyes were closed, yet her small lips were slightly apart, breathing slowly.
"Dad! Dad! Look. My sister is so small. Her cheeks are so red." Ethan exclaimed exasperatedly. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Nathan could only nod and chuckle.
"Yes. Yes. I can see, Ethan. Baby Hazel is so small… and cute."
He reached out, caressing the baby's cheeks.
Baby Hazel stirred at the feeling of warmth. For some reason, her small lips curled up into a small smile as though she was greeting her father.
"Dad! Mom! Have you seen it? My baby sis just smiled! Oh my! She is so cute. I want to hug her." Ethan couldn't contain his joy.
Jane and Nathan both laughed. Yes. They could also see it.
It seemed that Baby Hazel had been listening to their voices. Even though her eyes were closed, she looked more relaxed and happy when Ethan and Nathan arrived.

A few weeks after Jane was discharged from the hospital, together with her daughter…
"Waaah– Waaah– Waaah!"
Baby Hazel had been crying for ten minutes now. Jane and Nathan didn't know what to do.
"Baby, are you hungry?" Jane asked, still holding Baby Hazel in her arms.
Meanwhile, Nathan had been browsing his phone, researching online: "What to do when a baby cries?"
Neither Jane nor Nathan had any experience of raising a child. This would be their first.
During Ethan's birth, he was taken away from Jane. He was already three years old when Monica brought Ethan to Nathan.
"What should we do, Nate? Our daughter continues crying. What if she gets sick from all this?" Jane asked Nathan worriedly. She was also on the verge of crying.
Nathan quickly approached his wife, rubbing her back to console her.
"Don't worry. I have already contacted someone…"
It didn't take long before the door of the room was pushed open.
"Mom. Dad! I'm back. I brought Uncle Vincent with me!" Ethan said, dragging Vincent as they entered the room.
Nathan and Jane turned in their direction.
"Vincent! Hurry! Teach us what to do!" Jane called him out with urgency.
Nathan could only purse his lips. "You have to take responsibility, Bro. If you didn't take Ethan away, Jane and I would have experienced how to raise and take care of a newborn child."
Vincent smiled sheepishly while scratching the back of his head. Indeed, it was his fault. In the end, he was the one who learned how to take care of a newborn child.
Vincent was so hands-on when taking care of Ethan and Mia before.
"Hmm. Let me see her."
Vincent reached out, trying to figure out the reason why Baby Hazel continued crying.
"Did you feed her already?" He asked Jane.
"Yes. I breastfed her earlier."
As Vincent carried Baby Hazel, Jane, Nathan, and Ethan stood before him, just observing him.
For some reason, he felt a little bit conscious being watched by them.
"Sigh. Stop staring at me like that. You are making me uncomfortable," he complained.
A few seconds later, Vincent had finally discovered the reason why Baby Hazel had been crying.
"Nate! Jane! Why didn't you check her diaper? I think it's already full… that's why Baby Hazel is crying."
Nathan and Jane exchanged a guilty look with each other.
"Go and fetch a new diaper!" Vincent commanded Nathan.
Nathan immediately complied.
Then Vincent put Baby Hazel on the bed. "Jane, you have to remove her diaper like this. Be gentle. Watch and learn."
Jane and Ethan were all eyes on him. They were eager to learn how to change Baby Hazel's diaper.
Soon, Nathan returned with a whole pack of diapers.
"Here's the diaper, Bro." He handed it over to Vincent.
But Vincent crossed his arms over his chest.
"Nate, it's your turn. You have to learn how to change her diaper yourself. Don't rely on Uncle Li."
Butler Li was the one helping the two in taking care of Baby Hazel for the past few weeks.
"Go, Nate," Jane urged her husband.
Fortunately, Baby Hazel had finally stopped crying when the damp diaper was removed. The wetness had been making her uncomfortable and itchy.
Nathan finally took over, attempting to put Baby Hazel into a new diaper.
He was right in the middle of doing that when—without warning— Baby Hazel squirted, sending a perfectly aimed splash of pee straight onto her father's face.
Nathan: "…"
Time froze.
An awkward silence engulfed the room.
Then Vincent, Jane, and Ethan absolutely lost it, collapsing into helpless, wheezing laughter as Nathan stood there, dripping and deeply betrayed by his own child.
Vincent quickly tapped his brother's back, consoling him. "Don't worry, Bro. I've been there before. It happened to me twice."
He still couldn't suppress his laughter.
Meanwhile, Ethan already grabbed the tissue, giving it to his father.
"Dad, how does it feel? Is it refreshing?" Ethan said teasingly.
Nathan remained frozen in his spot, his cheeks turning scarlet red from embarrassment.
This time, the baby culprit also started giggling, kicking her small legs while her small hands tried to reach out to her father's face.
As Jane observed this, she couldn't help but laugh out loud, her body shaking while stroking Baby Hazel's head.
"Nice shot there, my little angel. I believe you will become a sharpshooter when you grow up. Hahaha, you hit a bullseye there."
Vincent and Ethan could no longer hold it in. Jane's last remarks forced them to burst into another peal of laughter.
