Chapter 436: Mom’s New Look

For Xu Mumu, the days of being newlywed feel like living through constant turmoil, especially at night. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

The next day, while Xu Mumu was at home teaching a group of kids some speech techniques, she saw her mom walk in with bright red, curly hair.

Xu Mumu was momentarily breathless; this hairstyle is just too much, you could scare someone to death if you get up at night to use the bathroom.

"Mumu, how is it? Does it look good?" Li Caixia touched her hair with some pride. She had been admiring herself in the salon mirror for quite a while—she thought she looked better the more she looked.

"Good, it looks good." Facing her mom’s expectant gaze, Xu Mumu silently uttered a lie. Oh well, mom would be leaving in a few days; better let her go blind others instead.

"I knew you’d think it looks good too. If you had come with me, you could have had the same style, we could match," Li Caixia said regretfully.

"I’ll pass." Xu Mumu shook her head repeatedly, realizing that her mom could be quite impulsive too. This style was sure to blind countless people when she went home.

"My Mumu does have good taste. Your dad said it didn’t look good; his taste is just too bad." With that, Li Caixia began to criticize her husband.

Oh, it turns out dad’s taste is normal, thought Xu Mumu. That was the only thought she had at that moment.

Regardless of what Xu Mumu was thinking, Li Caixia paraded in front of her daughter and then went off to show off to her sisters-in-law.

Once Li Caixia left, Xu Minglei started complaining to Xu Mumu: "Sis, mom’s taste is getting stranger."

"When she’s home with you and brother, keep a close eye on her, don’t let her do anything foolish," Xu Mumu said with a headache. She had just advised Li Caixia on the downsides of perming hair yesterday, but apparently, she didn’t listen at all or simply forgot.

"Don’t worry, sis, I’ll watch mom to make sure she doesn’t make herself look so weird again," Xu Minglei promised, as their mom’s current look was truly attention-grabbing.

Yin Yang returned from outside, just catching his mother-in-law showing off her hair. He was momentarily at a loss for words, but quickly put on a neutral expression when Li Caixia glanced his way.

"Yin Yang is back; take a look at my new hairstyle. Isn’t it great?" Li Caixia gleefully looked at Yin Yang, and the complex gazes from Qian Ying and the others she interpreted as envy.

"It looks great, mom. This hairstyle suits you very well; it makes you look much younger, really nice," Yin Yang immediately praised. Seeing his mother-in-law so happy, his wife must have complimented her as well; he just needed to go along with the compliments.

Qian Ying, Sun Huiping, and Lin Juan: ". . ." This guy’s ability to lie with his eyes open is impressive. How did he manage to praise this look of Li Caixia?

Yin Yang passed the test with Li Caixia and even won her appreciation.

Returning to Xu Mumu, he hadn’t quite hidden his expression yet.

"Why did mom suddenly think of perming her hair?" Yin Yang asked somewhat helplessly.

"I have no idea. I even tried to dissuade her yesterday, but unfortunately she didn’t listen," Xu Mumu shrugged, deciding not to face her mom’s glaring hairstyle.

"Since it’s done, let her enjoy it for a while." Xu Mumu responded calmly. Next time she decides to change her style, someone, either her brother or sister, should go with her. She can’t go alone; the style is just too off-putting.

"That works. But I noticed during the visit back, Auntie and her group..." Yin Yang chuckled lightly, mentioning what he saw on the way back.

Xu Mumu silently looked up at the sky, already imagining others’ reactions to seeing Li Caixia’s hairstyle.

Soon, the food was ready, and Xu Jiaojiao called the two over. The whole family sat together, with Li Caixia confidently taking center stage with her new look, even stunning Professor Song and Professor Jian for a moment.

At the table, Li Caixia continued to talk about her hairstyle, even criticizing Qian Ying and the others for not joining her, and strongly recommended her hairstylist.

Li Caixia’s visit to the hair salon has made her a loyal customer just from getting red, curly hair.

Lin Juan and the others merely humored her with a couple of remarks; this kind of hairstyle was definitely not for them.

At night, Xu Mumu lay in Yin Yang’s arms: "Yin Yang, let’s not have kids for now; let’s wait until after I graduate, okay?"

"Okay." Yin Yang nodded. With over two years left, he too wasn’t planning on having kids yet; they haven’t enjoyed enough couple time yet, why have kids now? Waiting two years is completely fine.

"If my mom starts pressing us to have kids, you’ll have to talk to her." Xu Mumu said, running her hand over Yin Yang’s waist, enjoying the feel.

"No problem, just don’t move around." Yin Yang’s voice was slightly hoarse; didn’t she realize the effect she had on him?

Parting days always come quickly. Xu Mumu helped move items to the car, and Yin Yang had already prepared return gifts for them, each household different, adding to their own stuff for more.

Xu Mumu was pulled inside by her mom, where it was just the two of them.

"If you’ve got news about the baby, give us a call. I’ll have your grandma come and care for you," Li Caixia lovingly looked at her daughter, looking forward to meeting her first grandchild.

"I know, mom." Xu Mumu moved her lips but decided against telling her mom about not wanting kids for now to avoid making her unhappy.

"I find Yin Yang very decent, but you should keep an eye on him, don’t let other women get close, understood?" Li Caixia earnestly imparted advice.

"I will, Yin Yang isn’t the type to mess around." Xu Mumu replied with a smile, accepting her mom’s care.

"Having a child is crucial to keeping him close."

Li Caixia rambled on a lot, and Xu Mumu laughed it off; she knew her mom had her best interests at heart.

When it was time to leave, the younger brother was especially reluctant to part with his sister, hugging her hand and not wanting to go.

Yin Yang and Xu Mumu stood on the platform watching the train slowly start, gently holding Xu Mumu’s hand, knowing she still had him.

"Once you graduate, we’ll move back to the provincial capital and develop there," Yin Yang said seriously, already beginning to make arrangements.

"Okay." Xu Mumu nodded, quite unwilling to leave her family, but they could always drop a call back.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Yin Yang drove, returning to the courtyard.

"Let’s move to grandpa’s place. This place is just too big, not convenient at all." Xu Mumu commented, feeling a bit stressed looking at the large empty house.
