70s Delicate Girl: A Guide to Being a Rich Woman
Chapter 446: Considerate
"Hold onto it and eat it." Su Yue’e said happily.
Xu Mumu only ate one and didn’t eat any more, feeling a bit full. She just put the remaining one in her bag to bring back for Yin Yang.
Two classes flew by, and Xu Mumu quickly packed up her things, ready to carry her chair down to the playground for some kind of motivational meeting.
Just as Xu Mumu was about to grab her chair, Song Qiao came over and helped her take it away.
"Let me help you, this chair is quite heavy." Song Qiao said with a bright smile.
Xu Mumu: "..." She hadn’t expected just asking for a little help would bring so many benefits. Next time, she’ll definitely ask them more often; they seem to enjoy working in the lab.
Arriving at the playground, Song Qiao and the others helped place her chair at her spot, once again enjoying the curious glances from other departments. Xu Mumu felt somewhat numb to it.
The first to speak on stage was the school’s director of education, mainly talking about the problems this semester and the areas that are worth maintaining.
The director said a lot, and from Xu Mumu’s position, she was directly in the sun, which was a bit blinding.
Listening to the director’s elaborate speech, Xu Mumu felt sleepy.
Finally, it was the principal’s turn, and Xu Mumu glanced up, seeing some certificates arranged in front of the principal. She smirked — just as she thought, the usual routine.
After a few formal remarks, the principal quickly got to the main topic, praising Xu Mumu and her peers, especially mentioning Xu Mumu’s contributions.
Listening to the principal’s flowery language, Xu Mumu chuckled. So she was so great and amazing, she hadn’t realized it herself.
Soon, they were called up on stage to receive their awards.
The school had prepared certificates, some prizes, and bonuses for them, showcasing these to motivate more students to strive forward.
After going on stage, Xu Mumu and the others received their certificates and prizes from the principal himself, along with having many photos taken.
As she walked off the stage with her items, Xu Mumu felt dizzy from all the attention. The principal was just too ceremonious; she didn’t really like it.
Unlike Xu Mumu’s headache, Su Yue’e and the others were visibly excited, almost floating with happiness.
Back in the classroom, the certificates were handed around for viewing, leaving Xu Mumu a bit helpless.
When she finally got the certificate back, its edges were slightly curled up, so she just put it away. The principal kept on with his lengthy speech, but Xu Mumu privately disliked people touching her things too much.
By the time the principal finished, the sun was directly overhead, and Xu Mumu’s forehead began to sweat.
"Mumu, let us help you bring it back. You go and have lunch; you’ve been in the sun for so long, it’s so hot." Song Qiao brought Xu Mumu’s chair over again.
"Thanks a lot." Xu Mumu really didn’t feel like going back to the classroom.
Upon returning to the small courtyard, Professor Jian was already back, vigorously writing inside the main hall. Xu Mumu didn’t bother him, guessing he was writing a paper.
Xu Mumu went to the kitchen where Mrs. Liu was making lunch. She asked Mrs. Liu to prepare some snacks later, intending to bring them to school for Su Yue’e and Song Qiao; they’d done everything for her today at school.
Mrs. Liu agreed with a smile. She’s good at making snacks and can prepare a few types. Most of the snacks in the house, aside from the occasional purchase, are made by Mrs. Liu.
When Yin Yang returned, Xu Mumu gave him the egg.
"Where did the egg come from?" Yin Yang ate the egg, having been hungry after a busy morning.
"Su Yue’e brought it for me in the morning, bought from the cafeteria. She gave me two, but I couldn’t finish the second one." Xu Mumu looked at Yin Yang, resting her chin on her hand, baffled by how he’d been active all morning despite exercising extensively last night — what an extraordinary guy.
"Why did she think of buying you breakfast?" Yin Yang paused while eating the egg.
Xu Mumu explained the award ceremony today, which enlightened Yin Yang. No wonder — Xu Mumu indeed provided them with many advantages. This experience would mark their university days significantly, influencing their job allocation after graduation, likely giving them better opportunities than others.
"Next time you need help, just let me know, and I’ll find people for you." Yin Yang said to Xu Mumu; his beloved seemed to manage everything by herself, which made him feel a bit left out.
"You’re so busy, it’s okay. My classmates are always eager to help, even fighting to come, since the equipment you got is better than what the school has." Xu Mumu remarked with a smile, not wanting to trouble Yin Yang with too much when he was already busy; she could handle these things herself.
"Alright then, just tell me if you need anything." Yin Yang said seriously to Xu Mumu. She’s his girlfriend; he couldn’t have her rely on others when he was capable.
"No worries, I won’t hesitate to ask." Xu Mumu poured Yin Yang a cup of tea. Professor Song and Professor Jian both liked tea, so there was quite a bit stored in the house and the kettle’s water was usually tea.
"That’s better." Yin Yang was satisfied, and the couple enjoyed their sweet time together.
When Professor Jian tidied up his things, he glanced at the clinging couple and found them unbearable, expressing disdain.
"Sir Jian, finished your work?" Noticing Professor Song’s disdainful look, Xu Mumu immediately forgot her embarrassment, having overlooked someone else’s presence.
"Not yet, the paper is just a draft and needs several revisions." Professor Jian shook his head. With Xu Mumu asking about other matters, he chose not to tease the couple any further, avoiding awkwardness for them.
This was something Xu Mumu knew; having done several experiments with them, she’d seen that writing papers was generally handled by Professor Song or the dean. Although she didn’t write them, she was familiar with the procedures.
Lunch was relatively simple, and after a short nap, Xu Mumu set off with two boxes of snacks.
Upon entering the classroom, Su Yue’e and the others were already there, grinning at Xu Mumu; her chair was neatly arranged at her spot.
"I’ve brought you some snacks; give them a try." Xu Mumu took out the snacks, offering them to her friends, letting them divide among themselves.
"Wow, these snacks look beautiful and smell so good. Did your Mrs. Liu make them?" Su Yue’e took a small piece and exclaimed with surprise.
