70s Delicate Girl: A Guide to Being a Rich Woman
Chapter 450: Tenant Yan Yunshu
On the way here, Xu Mumu had already learned a bit about the girl’s situation.
The girl is a local of the Imperial City. She got a job at a nearby elementary school, so she came here to teach. The place is quite far from her home, commuting back and forth is too troublesome, so she’s planning to rent an apartment.
This girl is good-looking and has a nice name, Yan Yunshu.
There are still quite a few apartments here that haven’t been rented out. The apartments are kept clean by her, the courtyard location is very nice, and the rent is at a regular market price, not expensive.
Yan Yunshu checked out the empty apartments and was quite satisfied: "The location of your apartment is very good, why are you not living here yourself?"
Yan Yunshu looked at Xu Mumu, this girl seemed two to three years younger than her. From the previous conversation, she knew this girl was not a local and was studying at Hua University, which isn’t far from here.
Even outsiders can buy houses in the Imperial City; it seems this girl’s family is doing well. Being able to get into Hua University, she’s certainly not a fool herself.
"I live on the other side where you just came from." Xu Mumu smiled, naturally noticing the curiosity in the girl’s eyes. As long as it’s not malicious, she doesn’t want to bother.
"Indeed, that place is quite close to Hua University." Yan Yunshu smiled.
Xu Mumu didn’t mind and looked at Yan Yunshu: "Do you want to rent this apartment?"
"Yes, I’ll rent this one. Can the price be a bit cheaper? I haven’t started receiving my salary yet." Speaking of this, Yan Yunshu blushed a little. Her family isn’t well off, so naturally, she doesn’t have much money on hand.
"You are only renting for half a year for now. I can’t let you pay in installments. You can pay for one month first, and once you have saved enough, you can settle the rest together." Xu Mumu raised her eyebrows slightly. She wasn’t surprised that Yan Yunshu was bargaining. There aren’t many wealthy people these days.
Yan Yunshu had no choice but to agree. The rent for Xu Mumu’s apartment wasn’t expensive and was within her expected range. She had enough money to pay for the rent, but after paying, she wouldn’t have much left for living expenses.
She would have to wait until she received her salary to pay the remaining amount. For now, it’s the only solution. The apartment looked very nice, much better than her family’s house, and living here would definitely be comfortable. At home, not only was the workplace far, but her parents also kept arranging blind dates.
As a modern woman, she naturally wants to find a man with common interests and not bad-looking. Due to her pickiness, she’s nearly twenty-five and still not married, with her family urging more intensely.
For her job and to avoid being pushed into marriage, she decided to move out.
After discussing the terms here and signing a contract, Xu Mumu handed the keys to Yan Yunshu.
As they walked out together, Yin Yang came to pick her up.
"Eh, why are you back so early today?" Xu Mumu looked at Yin Yang in surprise and delight.
"I’m almost done with work. I have some time to spend with you for a few days." Yin Yang said with a smile. When he returned without seeing her, and after Mrs. Liu told him another person came to rent an apartment, he came directly.
Yan Yunshu was slightly taken aback when she saw Yin Yang. She hadn’t seen such a good-looking man before, but unfortunately, he already had someone, otherwise, she might have wanted to pursue him.
After greeting Xu Mumu, Yan Yunshu returned home to move her things.
Xu Mumu walked home happily with Yin Yang, asking about things at his factory, to which Yin Yang answered each question. Xu Mumu’s questions weren’t over the line; some matters included her share in them.
Yin Yang also inquired about the apartment rental. Xu Mumu didn’t hide anything from him, but Yin Yang was a bit uneasy and planned to check the renter’s background. Xu Mumu had been involved in many things, and quite a few people at the top were paying attention to her. It wouldn’t make sense for others not to notice her.
In such matters, it’s better to be cautious. Although Xu Mumu has considerable skills, he still worries about any dubious people mingling around her.
Unaware of Yin Yang’s thoughts, Xu Mumu was happily anticipating the arrival of Xu Minglei and the others. With another sum of money in hand, once their competition was over, she planned to take them out for new clothes.
In a few days, the school received a notification to use the school auditorium as the exam venue for the English speech competition.
Xu Mumu was momentarily stunned by the news, then became happy. This way, she wouldn’t have to travel far to see their competition.
Xu Mumu called Xu Minglei to share the news. As expected, the little guy was very happy.
Taking the exam at his sister’s school made it easier to see her.
With the competition finalized, Xu Mumu considered the distant accommodations and thought about asking Xu Minglei and Xu Jiaojiao if they should mention it and have everyone stay here. After all, there weren’t many people, and they could definitely fit.
Xu Mumu mentioned this to Yin Yang, who had no objections.
So, Xu Mumu called back, asking Xu Minglei to consult their accompanying teacher.
Only a few students from the entire provincial city were participating, plus the teachers. Squeezing into the small courtyard would be fine.
The beds organized during the Spring Festival were still stored, and now they could be used.
During the competition, many would surely come to the Imperial City. The accommodations might not fit everyone either.
Xu Minglei went to talk to their teacher, Tang, the next day, relaying his sister’s words. Their school had two contestants, and there were three others from different schools, not a large number altogether.
Upon learning about this, Tang was silent for a while. Although she knew of Xu Mumu, knowing that she owned a house in the Imperial City felt quite complex. Having worked for so long, she only got a single dorm room from the school. She used to think it was nice, but now, seeing what this young girl achieved, it was impressive.
She wanted to agree to this because she was quite curious about Xu Mumu, wondering how she could teach these kids with no foundation so well.
This matter wasn’t hers to decide alone; she needed to discuss it with teachers from other schools.
As she anticipated accommodation issues, since the guesthouse was so small and many participants were coming from all over the country, she wasn’t sure if there would be enough space. Having a place to stay was quite necessary.
Tang quickly responded to Xu Minglei the next day, with everyone agreeing. Having someone they knew take care of them in the Imperial City was good, and being close to Hua University was an added bonus.
