Abandoned Omega: Wanted by the Bigshots in the Military Academy
Chapter 172: Two People Kneeling By Her Side
They even paid extra attention to the fact that Zoe Pierce hadn’t removed her gravity belts.
And sure enough, when the first, unsuspecting team went up, someone targeted Zoe Pierce.
The crowd of several hundred, representing over twenty military academy teams, broke into hisses when they saw that Alpha go after Zoe Pierce right from the start.
But some had already noticed that Miles Sherman and the others seemed to be waiting quietly behind Zoe Pierce, showing no signs of making a move. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Someone raised an eyebrow, assuming Miles and his teammates were abandoning Zoe Pierce.
But the next second, with the muffled thud of a body being struck hard, the Alpha who had attacked Zoe Pierce stumbled back several steps, clutching his abdomen.
In another blink, the Alpha glanced down, and a leg came crashing down from above.
He was instantly knocked to the ground, unable to even let out a groan.
It all happened so fast. The team had been on stage for less than two minutes, and the crowd of hundreds fell silent.
If they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes, it would have been impossible to believe that fluid chain of attacks had come from Zoe Pierce.
But there was no faking it, especially not when they had witnessed it firsthand.
"Ah, fuck."
The curse shattered the silence, followed immediately by an uproar.
"Am I seeing things?"
"Zoe Pierce? Huh? Zoe Pierce took down an Alpha in under two minutes?"
"Not a single wasted motion..."
"But... she wasn’t like this last time. My god, this is insane..."
Compared to the uproar from the audience, the other Alphas on stage who had just watched Zoe Pierce beat an Alpha to the ground were having a much harder time processing it. The shock was too great.
They stared intently at Zoe Pierce, whose calm eyes were already locked onto her next target. She was completely unaffected by the crowd, immediately engaging another opponent who was close enough.
The man tried to dodge, but Zoe Pierce grabbed his arm, her grip like a vise, pulling him with an immense, rock-solid force.
Then, she twisted his arm behind his back, took a few wide strides, and pressed his elimination button.
Even though Erin Xavier and the others were on stage, no one was looking at them anymore. All eyes were on Zoe Pierce.
All by herself, she had effortlessly eliminated an entire team.
She made Miles Sherman and the others look like background props.
And they were more than willing to stay behind her, treasuring this rare chance to watch her like this.
Down below, the instructors from the other academies were getting restless. They swarmed the instructors from the First Military Academy and the Federal Military Academy. "Did you do this on purpose?"
The instructor of the first team to go up was especially frustrated.
This was just too humiliating.
The First Military Academy instructor didn’t admit to anything. "We specifically reminded you before you came. A team of six: five Alphas and one Omega."
This was a blatant declaration that they were using Zoe Pierce with the combat effectiveness of an Alpha.
Now everyone could see how devious the First Military Academy was being. But they couldn’t argue with the instructor’s point; they had indeed been told beforehand.
It was just that who would have ever expected something like this?
The noisy atmosphere didn’t stop the second team from taking the stage.
This time, all the Alphas’ tempers flared. None of them were willing to admit they could lose to an Omega in a fistfight.
"Who told you it was okay to bully someone like this?" Chase Shaw was the first to step forward.
Five Alphas surrounding Zoe Pierce was a truly pathetic sight.
Zoe Pierce glanced at Chase Shaw, then swept her gaze over the others. "It’s fine. I can handle it."
Erin Xavier walked over as well. "There are still a lot of teams left. You should save your strength."
"One at a time."
"..."
So, did "one at a time" mean that after Zoe Pierce dueled one or two of them, her teammates would handle the rest?
It was painful for the people present to watch.
The third team, who had previously discussed targeting Zoe Pierce with their teammates, had also taken the stage. Now, they couldn’t bring themselves to say what they had planned.
They could only stare warily at Zoe Pierce.
She was too strong.
Relying purely on attack techniques and physical conditioning, Zoe Pierce had already taken down ten Alphas in a row.
There was no padding the numbers; every single one was a crushing defeat.
This meant that in this aspect, Zoe Pierce had an absolutely overwhelming advantage.
After the uproar, the area around the ring fell silent once more.
During a break, they watched as Nathan Lockwood handed Zoe Pierce a bottle of water. The girl’s eyes curved into crescents, and she looked so harmless.
"I’m fine. Let’s continue," Zoe Pierce said to Nathan Lockwood after moistening her lips with a sip.
Ten opponents had left her a little breathless, but she was still far from her limit.
She was like a wall, completely blocking any chance for Miles Sherman and the others to step in. By the end of the tenth team’s turn, everyone could see the sweat sliding down Zoe Pierce’s cheek. It dripped from her jaw, hitting the floor drop by drop.
Chase Shaw held out a towel, and Zoe Pierce grabbed it to wipe her face.
"Take a break," Chase Shaw said, physically stopping her. "We haven’t even warmed up yet."
Zoe Pierce wanted to say she’d be fine if she just took off her gravity belts, but after meeting several pairs of disapproving eyes, she shrugged. ’Fine, a break it is.’
As soon as the eleventh team stepped up, they were met by Erin Xavier and Chase Shaw at their full strength.
They swept through them like a bulldozer.
Even the First Military Academy’s own instructor found it a bit hard to watch. This was different from what they had expected. They were all top students. Even if there was a gap between S-Class Alphas, it shouldn’t be so great that they couldn’t even eliminate a single person.
Shouldn’t the correct strategy be to target one person?
His gaze then swept over to Zoe Pierce, who was sitting between Nathan Lockwood and Miles Sherman, and he recalled the scene from before when everyone had been targeting her.
He let out another long sigh.
It was no wonder, really. The morale of nearly every team had been crushed.
Zoe Pierce, a single Omega, had practically taken on a hundred Alphas by herself.
Her shallow breathing had now become heavy panting. Her whole body was as if she’d been pulled from water, sweat still pouring off her even as she sat.
She chugged another bottle of water.
"You did great," Nathan Lockwood said. It was the first time he had seen Zoe Pierce look so worn out, but her eyes were like those of a wolf queen—sharp and cold, fixed on the other teams in the ring as she observed them constantly.
Her lungs felt like they were on fire. Zoe Pierce didn’t have the strength to reply to Nathan Lockwood; she couldn’t even lift her arms.
’I shouldn’t have stopped,’ Zoe thought.
’I could have kept going just now. If I had pushed on to my limit, I would have become better than I was a second ago.’
’But I chose to stop, and now I can’t even lift my arms.’
"Nathan Lockwood... help me..." Zoe Pierce bit her lip, finally saying with some reluctance, "Help me take off the gravity belts."
’I need to recover quickly.’
’Such a competitive girl.’
Hearing this from the side, Miles Sherman couldn’t help but feel his heart clench.
The two of them, one on her left and one on her right, knelt beside Zoe Pierce’s legs, lifted her pant cuffs, and undid her restraints.
It was a scene that was impossible to look away from.
Two top-tier Alphas, suddenly kneeling with heads bowed beside an Omega. You couldn’t see their faces, only their incredibly distinct movements.
It was like submission.
And also like worship.
