Above the Great Dao
Chapter 1666 - 764: Daoist Great Luotian (3)
Beside them, many citizens and cultivators watched, and whenever there was an execution, whether of a god or an immortal, it would win a round of applause.
Nearby, there were vendors selling buns, and their business was quite good.
The Glazed Tile Chariot traveled along the road, passing through mountains and rivers shattered and scarred, with vast expanses of desolation caused by the divine skills of powerful immortal gods.
They passed through many places where the battle of the immortal gods continued, casting a pall over the heavens and the earth.
Compared to here, Penglai West truly seemed like a paradise untouched by the flames of war.
Chen Shi watched in silence, as the voices of old acquaintances echoed in his ears again. ๐ฏ๐ง๐๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ฃ๐ค๐๐ฎ๐ต.๐๐ค๐ข
"This is the way of the world!" "You can't change this world!" "The world is like this, what can be done?"
...
Each voice reverberated in his head, making it buzz.
Little Dun held his hand, softly saying, "Rest assured, my husband, once the Primordial Talisman reaches here, they will stop fighting. Currently, the Primordial Talisman hasn't spread widely, but in some time, things will improve greatly."
Chen Shi nodded slightly, "Once it spreads here, they will realize that gods and immortals are the same, and there's no need to fight anymore. However, the Primordial Talisman has only reached the leaders of the immortal gods. Why haven't those leaders ordered a ceasefire?"
Little Dun did not answer.
She knew Chen Shi had already figured it out: it was nothing but for the personal greed of the leaders.
Before the ceasefire, the more territories they occupied, the more benefits they would receive afterward. How many immortal gods or mortals died in the meantime was of no concern to them.
When the Glazed Tile Chariot entered the territory of East Heaven, the scene of war and destruction disappeared, revealing a landscape of green mountains and clear waters, where citizens lived in peace, cultivators resided on the Immortal Mountains, immortals lived in seclusion, and gods and immortals coexisted harmoniously.
Chen Shi had traveled to many places, witnessing flames of war everywhere, but a place as peaceful and blissful as East Heaven, he had never seen before.
As the Glazed Tile Chariot ventured deeper, they saw many sects floating on the Immortal Mountains, constructing grand temples, venerating various deities and Buddhas, with Buddha statues towering and resplendent, catching the eye.
Both the cultivators and civilians here worshipped the Buddha, prayed before the Buddha statues, contributed incense money to the temples, and labored for the temples, constructing great halls and venerating new Buddhas.
The immortal gods also worshipped the Buddha; the gods acted as temple guardian gods, and the immortals were the flying heavenly beings and laymen beside the Buddha statues, their expressions kind and nothing like the bloodthirsty looks seen outside.
The further the Glazed Tile Chariot traveled, the more lavish the scenery became, with the Immortal Mountains transforming into the Golden Mountain, where grand halls stretched unbroken, and living Great Buddhas sat in the temples, their physical bodies vast, surpassing the great halls.
Flying heavenly beings and guardians danced around the Great Buddhas in praise, while the populace chanted the Buddha's name.
The Glazed Tile Chariot unconsciously slowed its speed, as Chen Shi and Little Dun sat by the window, observing the scenery with growing astonishment.
"Is East Heaven not the domain of the Green Emperor? How could there be a pure land here comparable to the Western Heaven?" questioned Little Dun Fairy, puzzled.
Upon hearing this, Chen Shi's face changed slightly as he carefully observed the Buddhas, noticing that regardless of their age, size, or shape, their brows and eyes bore similarities!
And it was the same for the Buddha statues in the temples!
Here, every Buddha statue was of the same person!
Chen Shi said, "This is the Daoist Great Luotian, not East Heaven! My dear, we have entered the Great Luotian of a Buddhist master."
Little Dun Fairy leaned out and looked up, only to see a colossal face of a Bodhisattva emerging in the cosmos, looming and elusive.
His body was seated in the starry sky, holding the Great Luotian transformed by the Great Dao in his palm.
"The human world is filled with turbid currents, where can there be a pure land? Mr. Chen, Douluo Heavenly Dharma Flower Forest regards you with courtesy."
Seeing that they had discovered him, the Bodhisattva smiled at his palm and said, "The Buddha is merciful and grateful for the grace of your teaching, commanding me to invite you to be a guest at the Douluo Heavenly!"
