Chapter 9: Birth of a Sigma 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

One girl in particular, from his neighborhood, couldn’t take her eyes off him. She had always thought Lin Mu was cute, but now he was downright handsome.

She mustered up the courage to approach him as he jogged by, calling out his name.

But Lin Mu, still skeptical of strangers, jogged around her, His quick evasion left her heartbroken and embarrassed, She stood there on the pavement not knowing what to feel after being avoided by the supposed cursed child.

Undeterred, Lin Mu continued his jog, feeling the rush of endorphins as he pushed his body to its limits. He broke into a sprint, running faster and farther than he ever had before in the blink of an eye, his breathing steady and strong. His muscles flexed and relaxed with each stride like a well oiled machine, His feet pounding out a rhythmic beat.

After a few blocks, he then came to a stop Infront of the road. He stared in silence at the building across the road before his eyes which had a sign that said.

Infront of the gym where two huge sleeping mutant beasts that lay’d on the right and left sides of the gyms entrance respectively, Moreover, judging from their appearance and the pressure they released, It was easy to see that they weren’t your everyday normal mutant beasts.

Lin Mu was already intimidated by their fearsome statures so when the system suggested he battled them, He couldn’t help but feel dumbfounded.

Why on earth would he do anything to provoke such monsters when all he’d been fighting till now we’re bloody mutated rats and a few Bloody lizard’s and variant mutated rats, moreover they were two of them. With how close they were sleeping together, their relationship must’ve been great. Their total combat power might be equal to his but fighting two coordinated heads was more trickier than one.

After regaining his composure, He concluded that although the gym before his eyes was a public gym, The one who had made it must’ve been a very formidable individual if he wasn’t bothered by leaving such fearsome mutant beasts here to serve as watch dog’s.

Lin Mu obviously didn’t want to try anything stupid, He simply just went through the gate without even stopping to gaze at the two magnificent creatures.

" Thank God I made it in alive, For a second there I thought those two might’ve pounced on me mid way" Lin Mu let out a sigh of relief.

" Say’s you and no one else so there’s no need to worry " Lin Mu felt irritated but he didn’t dare to truly retort back, After his uneventful time during his first dimensional transportation, He really wasn’t so eager to return there with another exponential aggro or punishment stuck to his back.

" Moving on to the next topic, I have to admit that am feeling more refreshed than earlier, Your breathing technique is really effective" Lin Mu said as he made his way into the public gym, eager to test his strength and agility on the gyms equipment. "Finally, something useful from you that doesn’t involve insults."

He had always been fascinated by weightlifting and cardio but could never visit such a place since he found it a bit tasking, On average, everyone who came to this Gym were superhuman, so they would have a higher starting point than him when it came to physique and strength, Even if they weren’t strength type superhumans, They were still stronger than your average human, Not to mention that just coming here would attract several dissatisfied gazes from the public.

Although this gym was one made explicitly for the public, hence it’s categorization as a public gym. Lin Mu knew that if anyone of them ever wanted to harm him they could easily do so, Though violence was never condoned, he knew that they could just brush it off as an accident without caring whether he had a say or not, That was just how cruel he had it back then.

Fortunately, Now he had the body to match his enthusiasm. If anyone were to try anything like most did back then, He wouldn’t mind using them as an example to showcase his newfound capabilities.

Lin Mu walked in through the front door, He calmly walked pass the reception area because there really wasn’t any need to go there since he wasn’t going to pay anyways, Plus it saved him the trouble of having to talk to someone.

As he entered the gym, a few heads turned in his direction. Those who knew him couldn’t believe their eyes, While those who hadn’t paid much attention to him before found it hard to take their eyes of him.
