Chapter 487: Chapter 486: Advancing to tier 4(2)[happy new month And appreciation to you guys]

A loud explosion rang out as the Mana-Devouring Beast was obliterated, but Azar wasn’t happy. His gaze turned cold as he looked at the giant horde they were fighting.

One weakness of Tier 3 Magi was that they had to chant their spells before casting them. This made them vulnerable to Tier 3 Mana-Devouring Beasts, which were fast and possessed powerful physical bodies.

Knowing this, Azar understood that he needed to be able to cast spells instantaneously.

But how?

Azar’s mind spun as an idea came to him.

What if he created the fundamental runes for the spell beforehand so that he could cast it instantly?

His eyes widened as he decided to try it.

He muttered as many spells as he could, causing invisible runes to form beside him as they spun silently.

Then Azar moved his hand.

The earth cracked apart as a giant stone palm emerged and smashed several Tier 3 Mana-Devouring Beasts into meat paste.

The Magi beside him stared at the young man.

"Is he silently chanting a spell?" one of them asked.

Not hearing him speak caused the surrounding Magi to look at Azar with surprise, but not for long. They were still in the middle of a battle.

They resumed fighting and protecting Azar as his combat effectiveness increased.

He could kill more Mana-Devouring Beasts in a shorter amount of time.

But...

Something wasn’t right.

Although Azar’s efficiency had increased, it was only by five to ten percent. It wasn’t a fundamental improvement.

His attacks weren’t stronger.

They didn’t deal more damage.

The only difference was that they were faster to cast.

Mana consumption remained the same, and his reserves barely changed.

"No... this won’t work," Azar muttered as his pupils flickered and his mind spun with countless thoughts.

Around him, the mana particles trembled as they were drawn toward him.

At first, it was subtle.

But soon, the other Tier 3 Magi sensed that something was wrong.

The mana around them was being pulled toward a single location.

While chanting spells to slow down the Mana-Devouring Beasts, they glanced back and saw Azar.

His eyes had turned completely white, glowing like brilliant lights.

Thunder rumbled overhead as drops of rain began falling onto the battlefield.

One by one, the Mana-Devouring Beasts seemed to sense something as they slowed down and turned their attention toward Azar.

Soon, the droplets turned into heavy rain.

For the fighters, this was bad.

Very bad.

Visibility would be reduced, and they wouldn’t be able to see the beasts until they were almost upon them.

Even if they used spells to track or sense the Mana-Devouring Beasts, it would rapidly deplete their mana reserves.

Yet, as rain drenched their bodies, they noticed something strange.

Azar remained completely dry.

It was as though the rain avoided him.

A meter-wide area around him remained untouched.

But their shock wasn’t over.

Azar suddenly floated into the sky.

The mana swirling around him trembled violently as he began levitating.

"Impossible..."

"Did he just...?"

Gasps escaped from the veterans as Oru smiled while looking at Azar.

"This kid..."

But Azar himself was unaware of their thoughts.

He felt his body being cleansed over and over again as purer and more condensed mana flowed through his meridians, strengthening him.

His mind felt light.

A sense of calm spread throughout his entire being.

His thoughts became clearer as new understanding and knowledge seemed to fill his mind.

He felt closer to the mana in the air.

Like children surrounding their parent, they danced around him.

The transformation took some time, but both the Magi and the Mana-Devouring Beasts were too stunned to make a move.

They could only watch.

Finally, it was complete.

Azar felt his senses sharpen dramatically, while his mana reserves expanded exponentially.

Still floating in the sky, he waved his hand.

A few hundred meters away from the Magi army, the ground instantly transformed into a massive pool of magma.

The anguished roars of Mana-Devouring Beasts echoed across the battlefield as they flailed their limbs desperately.

But they were consumed by the magma.

Then, just as suddenly, the magma cooled and solidified.

"That kid... he became a Tier 4 Magi," Oru muttered, a smile plastered across his face.

At the Fifth Layer of the Abyss...

Void’s Multiverse...

Void pushed the Rank 4 female demon away.

His eyes narrowed as his thoughts spun.

"Is it already the mating season?" Void asked.

In response, he received a soft chuckle.

"Let’s start afresh. My name is Ire," she said with a cute smile.

Void felt his brain cells twitch.

Did she just ignore his question?

Seeing the puzzled look on Void’s face made her chuckle once more.

"No, it is not the mating season. Besides, it doesn’t affect us," Ire said.

Void nodded.

He thought as much, but he hadn’t been in the Abyss for too long. Time had passed, and he had only participated in the mating season once.

He took down...

Cough, cough...

Void whistled as he pushed the thought out of his mind.

Coming back to the matter at hand, he knew demons very well.

They had no real desire to reproduce.

Heck, they only did so for the continuation of their race.

Most, if not all, demons wouldn’t give a damn about their children.

Only those with diluted bloodlines, or perhaps those whose bloodlines were below the Primordial level, might develop affection for their offspring.

So for this demon named Ire to come here and say she wanted to mate with him...

It seemed fishy.

"Why?" Void asked.

Ire pondered for a moment, her fingers tapping softly against her chin in a rhythmic manner.

"Well, I am attacking a Realm, but its defenses are too strong. Neither I, you, nor any other Rank 4 demon can enter it, not even through our clones."

"Realms are much stronger than multiple universes. They can mark any entity that does not belong to their world. So no matter what method we use, no matter how weak the clone is, we simply cannot enter."

Ire began explaining, finally revealing the true reason she had come.

Void felt much calmer now.

After all, a demon coming to mate was far scarier than a demon coming for cooperation.

(Don’t ask why.)

"But after millions of years of observing them, I realized something."

"At certain points in time, there is always a chosen one who rises, and with that rise, an entire era changes."

"Although my body cannot physically enter, my will can still influence that Realm. I have created a hidden force there and eventually discovered a loophole through which an unmarked creature can enter that world."

Ire paused before continuing.

"And that loophole is to be born into that world."

"Everything has already been planned. All we need to do is mate, wait until an embryo is formed, then find a couple in that Realm and allow them to conceive."

"We will merge the two embryos together, place it back into the woman, and allow gestation to occur."

"Simple, right?" Ire said with a smile.

Void blinked several times as her words sank in.

If any normal human had been standing here, their hair would have stood on end in fright.

This was a chilling operation.

But for Void...

This was interesting.

He had never witnessed something like this before, and he wanted to see how it would unfold.

A grin appeared on his face as he replied.

"Come on in. Let’s discuss this properly."

Void spoke as Ire smiled.

The two of them then headed toward Void’s castle.
