Boom...

Nuk dragged the head of Din into the ground twenty thousand kilometers away as he threw the body away like a rag doll, and Din sank into the crater.

Slowly, the glowing light surrounding Din reduced, and finally it was gone, and Din returned to normal and lost consciousness.

Nuk landed beside him as his tail swayed left and right.

Nuk narrowed his eyes as he looked at the human, the vessel of the gods now beneath his feet, defenseless.

Then he grinned and moved forward to kill Din, but just then, a loud-pitched voice sounded in Nuk’s head.

"No."

Then Nuk’s body swayed as he almost collapsed.

He frowned as his expression changed.

He knew it was the gods, but for it to almost make him fall, it seemed the gods were above him in strength.

"Leave him, don’t you touch him."

Their voices layered over each other as Nuk laughed.

"Are you commanding me?" Nuk asked with a chuckle.

"No, ordering you. Do this or face death."

The voices spoke.

"What a load of bullshit."

Nuk lifted Din up by his neck and was about to squeeze when he felt his body freeze.

His expression turned solemn.

This was not the first time he felt that.

His body freezing in space.

First was when they were about to crash into the city, and now.

"Enough... please."

A female human appeared in front of Nuk.

She carried otherworldly beauty, except she was transparent and seemed like she could fade out of existence at any moment now.

"Please, spare him," she said.

"And if I don’t?" Nuk asked.

She smiled and walked in front of Nuk. Then her hand touched him as a cooling sensation passed through him.

Instantly, Nuk felt pain as if his body was being ripped apart.

His very soul trembled before everything stopped, and he breathed a deep breath.

"Thank you."

She gave Nuk a sweet smile as Nuk narrowed his eyes.

He released Din as he fell unconscious onto the ground, and Nuk disappeared.

"Interesting, so not only do we have the government system and sects, but also hidden creatures and gods?"

"Lord Vakim, tch... you might really die if all of them come out," Nuk thought as he joined the Peak Rank 0 demons.

He directly appeared at the back of an ancestor and then clapped his two hands together.

Pah...

The head erupted like a watermelon as another Peak Rank 0 being on the Super City side was done for.

The experts almost felt their hearts skip a beat, and for a moment the battle between them all paused.

Seeing this, the demons took it as a chance and delivered killing blows to the experts of the Super City.

Luckily, they moved in time, but some were still severely injured.

Boom.

Boom.

The sky cracked and the ground shook under their impact.

Seeing the enemy leaders dying made the demon army roar as more and more demons poured from the crack above the Super City, while the remaining soldiers, sect disciples, and secret martial warriors all came out to defend.

But the truth had been set and known.

It was only a matter of time before they lost.

Evening came, then morning, as the war slowly came to an end.

---

Far away, a human body lay on the ground like dead meat as a curious one-eyed rabbit leaped towards it, but as it came close, the supposed "dead" human woke up and grabbed it.

Soft grunts escaped from the rabbit’s mouth as fear took hold of it.

Bringing it closer to his face, Din looked at the scared little fellow, then dropped it as the rabbit scurried away in fear.

Once gone, Din groaned as he stood up.

His body felt hollowed out.

Like no energy was in him, all of it sucked away into a bottomless pit.

"Kid... kid..."

Void’s voice was heard as Din frowned.

"Go away."

Din struggled to say in his mind as he lay back down and closed his eyes.

He was so weak.

Way too weak.

He didn’t even know if he was alive or not.

"Man... lazy fellow."

Void said, disappointed, but that didn’t move Din.

"Will you get up or not?" Void asked as Din waved his hand while sunlight reached through the branches of the trees.

"Leave me alone."

Hearing Void’s voice, Din spoke once more as he heaved up and down, his chest rising like a raging wave and falling like a waterfall.

"You don’t know what happened, do you?"

Void paused before speaking as Din’s eyes opened.

"What happened?" Din asked as Void clicked his tongue.

"You really don’t know?"

Void asked as Din paused, his mind racing, yet he still couldn’t figure out what Void was saying.

"Basically, the gods used you. They descended again, which explains why you are so far away."

Void spoke as Din took a deep breath, his heartbeat racing.

"Gods?..."

If before, Din had doubts, but after it happened the second time, he found the doubts fading.

"But why me?" Din couldn’t help but ask.

"Beats me."

Void said and shrugged.

"But you were chosen, so that’s your fate."

"Others are born to have little to no impact on the world."

"Some are meant for assistance, for that ’one’ to ascend and reach somewhere in life."

"No one is as useless as they look. No matter their position in life, even that background character is there to fuel the situation or make the chosen one look good."

"As for you..."

Void paused as Din’s heartbeat spiked.

"Well, let’s say maybe in this world, you have a very important role to play."

Void spoke as for a moment Din was confused.

Should he be glad by this or worried?

"Alas, you are disposable. Once your role is done and over with, you become useless."

Void said coldly as Din sat up, his eyes full of fury.

Being used was one of the things he hated.

But didn’t this look like his last life?

As a major, he became a pawn in a higher-up’s battle, used and discarded.

And now in this new world, would he be the same?

No...

Hell no.

"Tell me..."

Din spoke up.

"How can I change... how can I change my role of being a pawn?"
