Ace Dragon Rider
Chapter 33 - 29 Choose an egg!
"Wait a minute!"
Long Yi decisively grasped the key point in the conversation.
"Since you are a Black Dragon, why are you in the Dragon God Temple of my White Dragon Empire?" Long Yi was perplexed.
"Hahaha, kid, haven’t you recovered your Giant’s legacy memories yet? Back when I was the Guardian Black Dragon of the Black Dragon Empire, I was the mortal enemy of the White Dragon Empire. However, after I resigned from the position of Guardian Black Dragon, I have nothing to do with the war. By the grace of the Dragon God, except for not being able to join any country, I am free to do anything."
So that’s the case!
Indeed, the most troublesome thing about inherited knowledge is that although it’s all in your head, you won’t remember it until the time is right. The consequence of this simple inheritance is that it is too time-consuming compared to reading books.
"Alright, let’s talk about my situation now."
Long Yi shook his head. This shocking gossip was something he wouldn’t dare tell anyone, let alone that famous Black Dragon Tyl leaving the Black Dragon Empire was known by no one indicating that all countries in the world are completely oblivious about it. If the Holy Light Empire knew that the strongest Black Dragon of the Black Dragon Empire had resigned, who knows what might happen.
Tyl smiled faintly and said, "I know you want the silver light and I know what you want to do with it, but I can’t give it to you."
"Damn, old man, you’re really stingy. I’ve just heard a bunch of scary secrets from you, and I’ve been taking care of your child for fifteen years. Even a drop would be reasonable. Also, this is the Dragon God Temple, and if we really get down to it, we giants are aristocrats in front of your Dragon Clan. You peeping into my thoughts is really annoying. Would you believe I’d go tell the Dragon God?"
Long Yi began to play his tricks.
"Hahaha, kid, don’t worry. Let me explain."
Tyl laughed.
Long Yi kept quiet, waiting for the explanation.
"You want to use the silver light to help her attract dragon power. Your idea is correct. However, you don’t know that the silver light is deadly poison to humans."
Poisonous?
Long Yi was first taken aback and then drenched in cold sweat.
That was close!
Long Yi suddenly realized that his memories are from giants and dragons; silver light poses no danger to the giant or dragon clan, but it is not necessarily the same for humans!
Tyl certainly wouldn’t lie to him. He was close to making a mistake!
"Alright, Uncle, since you know everything, help me think of a way. I’m all out of options."
Long Yi seemed disheartened.
"Haha, sure, come here. Let me teach you a small trick first, to help you control your mental energy. You’ve just unlocked the Giant’s bloodline not long ago, and your mental energy is too strong. What you’re thinking is almost written on your forehead; it’s impossible not to hear it."
As he spoke, Tyl reached out his dry fingers and tapped Long Yi’s forehead. Suddenly, strange knowledge flowed in. It was the method to control mental power. However, it did not come from Tyl. Tyl only helped unseal part of Long Yi’s inheritance knowledge.
With a little exploration of his heart, his spirit was immediately under control, and the sense of surveillance from Tyl disappeared.
Then, Tyl slowly told Long Yi how to treat Arin. Long Yi was stunned.
"Can it work this way?"
Long Yi couldn’t believe it.
"Relax, since this child is like you, the hatching of a small dragon gave him the talent of a transformation suit. It means that his relationship with his dragon is closer than you think and his constitution is much better than you think. He can absolutely withstand such treatment. And as you said, he is ready."
Tyl slowly voiced his words.
Long Yi was doubtful, but he understood that this might be the last resort.
He wouldn’t hesitate if it were up to him. But, could Arin really handle this?
Long Yi didn’t have confidence in his heart, but he decided to go back and talk about it.
"Thanks for your help, uncle. I’ll head back now."
Long Yi was ready to depart.
"Are you leaving so soon? Aren’t you choosing a dragon egg?"
Tyl suddenly asked.
"Uncle, I already have Bajie."
Long Yi laughed, thinking that Tyl, the Black Dragon, was joking with him.
"That’s okay, as you said, you’re a giant and an aristocrat. There’s nothing remarkable about having a few more dragons."
Tyl said.
"Alright uncle, I think highly of you. Why don’t you come and join me?"
Long Yi still didn’t believe it.
"Hahaha, the kid has ambition but unfortunately, if I went with you, those old guys at our Dragon Clan’s Elder Council would probably go crazy. However, if I die mysteriously someday, and if you’re competent enough, you could turn me into a Dragon Witch and we could go have fun then. But for now, just choose a dragon."
Tyl laughed, his words were about his life, but he didn’t seem to care.
"Uncle, are you serious?"
Long Yi finally realized that he was not kidding.
"Of course I’m serious. Look, the more dragons you have, the stronger you get in protecting my child. What’s the benefit for me to lie to you?"
Long Yi was speechless, indicating that some common knowledge is not as simple to human understanding. Indeed, relationships are very important.
The Dragon Egg area is located at the back of the Dragon God Temple. Being situated in Academy City, it nearly houses the largest number of dragon eggs in the entire Empire. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Upon arriving at the back, as far as the eye could see, there were golden pedestals with blended light-silver, on which rested dragon eggs one by one. Some looked like rocks; some like steel; some surrounded by wind; some sparkling with arcing electricity.
These were all different kinds of dragon eggs, quietly waiting for the arrival of knights.
Choosing a dragon egg is a two-way selection process. As a Dragon Knight, Long Yi needs to choose a dragon egg that resonates with him, and these dragon eggs are also trying to find a Dragon Knight that resonates with them.
Walking among the dragon eggs, Long Yi feels no resonance with any of them.
Could it be that his noble status is unhelpful?
Regardless of success or failure, since Uncle Tyl offered an opportunity, Long Yi must try.
So Long Yi started to focus on feeling the resonance in front, while Tyl followed behind with a happy face.
After a long time of wandering, just when Long Yi was about to lose faith, he suddenly felt a strange throbbing rising from the bottom of his heart. Following that sensation, Long Yi came to a large door studded with jewels.
"Uncle, what’s behind this door?"
Tyl seemed stunned at first, then smiled, "It is no wonder you are a nobleman. You could feel the door shielded by six layers of spiritual pressure."
As Tyl waved his hand, the grand door silently opened, and immediately the throbbing sensation grew stronger.
Accompanied by a surge of dragon power, Long Yi discerned the arrangements inside.
In the small room, there were six vulgar gold platforms embedded with a pile of jewels. On the six platforms, there were five dragon eggs and a small girl.
What?
A little girl?
Long Yi thought he had seen incorrectly. He quickly walked a few steps closer to take a look, and found that there really was a little girl on the third gold platform. She was almost naked, except for the small scales covering a few places. She was curled up, lying motionless. She was less than twenty centimeters long, but she was extremely delicate and cute. However, there was no dragon power emanating from her, and she looked exactly like a miniature human girl.
Long Yi pointed at the little girl then turned to look at Elder Dragon Tyl.
"Uncle, your hobbies are a bit too diverse, aren’t they? It’s one thing to hold someone captive in a secret room, but actually shrinking them and showing them off brazenly, are you planning to silence me?"
On hearing Long Yi’s words, Tyl couldn’t help but chuckle. This kid really has a sharp tongue.
"You little punk, stop talking nonsense. This is not a human girl, this clearly is..."
"Ah!"
A shrill scream. Long Yi only felt his fingertip being pierced by a sharp object. He sharply shook his hand but felt something still hanging on his hand.
He lifted his hand to bring it in front of his eyes.
He saw the tiny girl from just before biting onto his fingertip. Her whole body was swinging back and forth with his finger like a fish that had just been caught. At the same time, her dragon power slowly started to appear.
"Dragon power? Is this a Fairy Dragon?"
Long Yi was startled.
Fairy Dragon, as the name suggests, signifies a dragon that looks like a fairy within the entire Dragon Clan. They were born in the form of humans, some even elvish, and all were female. Besides the pair of dragon horns on their heads and a pair of dragon wings on their backs, they share no similarity with the Dragon Clan.
Though Fairy Dragons are humanoid, they rarely appear in their true forms in the human world. Scholars suspect that most Fairy Dragons reproduce with human aid, but those lucky ones aren’t aware of it.
Looking at the little girl who was still hanging off his finger, Long Yi scratched his head. How was he supposed to ride a Fairy Dragon, even a mature one was only the size of an adult human?
Oh? Wait, did that sound a bit naughty?
Of course, Fairy Dragons do not have Dragon Knights, only comrades.
Because of the unique nature of Fairy Dragons, they are both dragons and human. They integrate the advantages of two different species. Of course, the drawback is also clear. Fairy Dragons find difficulty evolving rapidly without the aid of a Dragon Knight, causing their true power to manifest slowly.
"Uncle, what do I do?"
Long Yi continued swinging his finger. He could feel his blood seeping out slowly, being consumed by the little girl. She was sucking like a baby does to a bottle, never stopping. Although the blood loss was minimal, the feeling was still strange.
"Erm, consider it as a freebie."
What the heck! This can be a freebie? How about giving me more? Give me half the dragon eggs in this temple, I won’t find it too much.
Obviously, that was impossible, and Tyl’s face showed a very weird expression. There was something fishy about this. Although Long Yi was curious, he knew better than to stick his nose into other people’s business. He would wait until there were problems before asking.
The throbbing sensation in his heart didn’t diminish but seemed to be growing stronger.
Long Yi’s gaze swept over the five dragon eggs. He could feel that all of them had a favorable impression of him.
"Can I choose all five?"
Long Yi suddenly asked.
"No."
Tyl shook his head.
"Am I not a nobleman?"
Long Yi asked again.
"Even noblemen have times of poverty, please have a second thought."
Tyl advised seriously.
