Ace Dragon Rider
Chapter 37 - 33: Revenge! 【Happy Lantern Festival!】
Ai Lin paced around the room, her every move caught by Wesley’s eyes, so he chose to pretend to be focused on his Observation Dragon. On the other hand, Long Yi openly watched her, having seen everything already, would he be afraid to look at her when a layer was blocking his view?
As she felt Long Yi’s gaze, Ai Lin blushed slightly, not flinching at all. She knew what had occurred earlier.
At that time, the Silver Light had run out of strength. Long Yi had secretly cut open his wrist and put his blood into Silver Light’s mouth. Almost fainting, Silver light bit Long Yi’s wrist and drank deeply.
The strength contained in the Giant’s bloodline instantly erupted inside Silver Light, forcing her to complete the entire Rune painting.
By this time, the wound on Long Yi’s wrist had healed, leaving a faint scar. Ai Lin had never seen anyone help her like that before. In the past, she was flattered because of her status and position but as soon as she lost favor, she was abandoned by those same people and unwelcome everywhere she went.
The man in front of her was brave, fearless, and did not look down at her because she was weak. From the first day of school, he had stood in front of her.
And now, he was doing all he could to help her.
Facing such a man, it wouldn’t matter if he looked at her...
As the thought occurred to her, Ai Lin’s face reddened suddenly. She lost her balance, falling forwards and conveniently landed in somebody’s arms.
Wesley felt that his eyes were about to go blind from the spectacle of the two. One moment they were just walking and the next, they were falling into each other’s arms. What was going on? Could they be a bit more restrained? Could their story not develop so quickly?
In reality, Wesley had misunderstood Ai Lin. She didn’t do it on purpose.
Scrambling up from Wesley’s arms in a hurry, Ai Lin regained her composure.
"Let’s take our revenge!"
Long Yi blinked, laughed and said:"Little girl, you’ve just got your new power, don’t you want to practice first?"
Ai Lin chuckled, responding: "Others may need to, but not me. I am a genius!"
Long Yi retorted:"Oh really? I’d like to see just how powerful the legendary Magic Fighter is!"
Magic Fighter?
She’s the legendary Magic Fighter?
Wesley looked at Arin in surprise. Her delicate figure didn’t seem to match a Magic Fighter, did it?
Ai Lin’s new image was quite attractive; walking on the road, her silver outfit and small dragon wings drew many eyes, especially those of men.
At first, Ai Lin was somewhat uncomfortable, but once she saw Long Yi walking beside her, confidence filled her. She imitated Long Yi’s stride, lifted her head high, puffed out her chest. The metallic sound of her boots echoed on the cobblestone street.
Following them, Wesley felt a deep sense of exasperation. It was bad enough when only Long Yi walked like that, given his imposing physique. But now Ai Lin was mimicking him! The two were a stunning match and made him feel downright unimpressive.
It was awful.
In truth, the situation was far from ready for revenge.
Firstly, Ai Lin’s school registration needed to be redone.
Ai Lin used to be a charming boy, but was now a charming girl. Just this transformation required explanation to the academy.
However, Ai Lin emerged from the principal’s office with a smile after only ten minutes. Her new student information had been updated on her wristband.
Being a noble was quite convenient after all.
In the afternoon, the Second Year training ground.
The Second Years were currently in class. Ever since the Air Force Division had been swept away by Long Yi, the entire Second Year Air Force Division had been in an oppressive mood. All the students consciously intensified their training, especially Tang Ze, who trained till exhaustion every day, much to the delight of the Second Year trainers.
On the other hand, the mood in the Second Year Land Forces Department was quite the opposite.
The Land Forces were excited because they had done something. Thirty-one people from the Land Forces Department had ganged up on two juniors from the First Year Air Force Department.
In honesty, this incident was quite embarrassing for the Land Forces Department since they had not targeted Long Yi, but two people who were Long Yi’s followers and who could barely fight.
Ganging up on two weak people was hardly something to be proud of.
Never mind, the Land Forces Department was indeed proud of their actions.
At first, they were quite scared when they heard that Long Yi had been discharged from the hospital. However, after waiting the whole morning and not seeing Long Yi, they began to think that perhaps he was scared?
Everyone knew that there was hardly any difference in strength between the First and Second Year for both the Land and Air Forces. It was only from the Third Year on, when the Dragon Riders’ dragons matured and the strength of the Flying Dragons became apparent, that the number advantage of the Land Forces no longer mattered.
They all thought that Long Yi was scared. After all, the entire Second Year had over three hundred students. Even though most of them didn’t agree with the way they had ganged up on Long Yi’s friends, they wouldn’t just stand by if Long Yi came looking for trouble.
But when Long Yi appeared, all their high spirits disappeared.
Long Yi with his two friends walked ahead, followed by Bajie, with the little Fairy Dragon sleeping on Bajie’s head, and the Shadow Dragon and Observation Dragon flying on either side.
Admittedly, although they always believed that their numbers were unbeatable, the sight of Long Yi, a madman who single-handedly defeated the entire Second Year Air Force Division, made them apprehensive.
Despite their numbers, no one wanted to be the first to face Long Yi.
By morning, the whole second year Air Force Division knew about the incident, even the second year instructors were aware. They were all wondering when Long Yi would come and confront them.
And now, Long Yi had just arrived.
However, almost everyone’s gaze was wholly drawn to the silvery figure beside Long Yi.
A young girl with silver long hair, donned in a silver-tight bodice that accentuated her figure. She had a pair of small silver dragon wings on her back that seemed like decorative ornaments, adding a touch of cuteness to her. Her female knight boots were polished to a mirror shine, reflecting the sunlight with every step she took and producing a rhythmic clattering sound.
Who was she? Despite feeling a sense of familiarity, no one could associate her appearance with anyone they knew.
At this point, Long Yi strolled past the second year Air Force Division with a grin, greeted the instructors, glanced at Tang Ze before heading straight towards the Land Forces Department.
"He really did come."
Tang Ze spoke.
"Big brother, isn’t Long Yi being too cocky? Their team comprised of only three people against 300 men from the Land Forces Department. I thought he would have called upon the entire first year."
Luo Qi whispered to Tang Ze.
With a stern gaze, Tang Ze looked at Long Yi. Long Yi’s expression remained unchanged, but Tang Ze noticed a slight hint of fatigue in his eyes.
"Instructor, I request to temporarily rest and observe the match!"
Tang Ze suddenly declared.
The second year instructor glanced at Long Yi, then nodded in approval: "Request granted, everyone rests and observes the match!"
Facing dozens of Air Force officers, Wesley was not nervous. But when facing more than three hundred Land Forces Department officers, he genuinely felt tensed.
The sheer sight of almost every soldier in the Land Forces Department mounted on dragons, their assorted attack formations, augmented their overall momentum.
When Long Yi arrived, the Land Forces Department instructor stopped in his tracks. He recognized Long Yi and knew why Long Yi was there.
"What is it?"
The instructor of the Land Forces Department asked.
"Hello, Instructor, I came here today to offer two choices to those people from this morning," Long Yi laughed. "Firstly, we could report this matter to school officials for a thorough investigation of who participated in the disgraceful fight. However, I strongly advise against this, as it might potentially harm many. The second option is for those involved to step forward for a simple challenge. No matter who wins, we will not pursue this matter further. What do you say?"
The expression on the instructor’s face soured as he had an idea about the predicament. He knew that this matter could be negligible or severe. If the victim, Arin, was not of any prominent status, then a little compensation would have been enough.
But if Arin was indeed a heir to a noble house then not only would the perpetrators be held accountable, even he, as an instructor, could potentially be liable!
"Are you the one issuing the challenge?" The instructor asked, having watched all of Long Yi’s fights; he knew that his students were no match for Long Yi. The difference in power was just too substantial.
Long Yi laughed: "Of course not, revenge should naturally be handled by those involved."
Saying so, he gently pushed Ai Lin forward.
Instantly, the entire Land Forces Department seemed to hold their breath.
From the moment Ai Lin had appeared, everyone’s gaze had been fixated on her. It was only when Long Yi’s intimidating presence pulled their attention away that they had diverted their gaze away from her. And now that she took center stage, everyone was drawn back to her without exception.
Said is said, done is done.
Despite being prepared, Ai Lin felt herself tensing up as she faced the crowd. She tried to speak, but her body began to tremble slightly.
She was too anxious.
At that moment, Long Yi suddenly sneezed, with a loud and incredibly arrogant sneeze.
Ai Lin laughed.
"Who ambushed me this morning, please stand up. Don’t challenge my ability to remember faces."
Once she started speaking, her voice was no longer trembling.
"Long Yi, are you joking? That person named Arin is clearly a boy." The instructor frowned slightly.
At this point, Ai Lin raised her bracelet, which clearly displayed her information.
Ai Lin.
Female.
The instructor immediately lowered his head to check his bracelet. Sure enough, there was no male student named Arin in the first year, only a female student named Ai Lin!
Was she cross-dressing?
Those bastard boys, in the morning, thirty-one of them... had actually ambushed a girl! And such a cute girl at that!
With mutual glances, an atmosphere of disdain spontaneously arose among the crowd. Some remorsefully shook their heads. They didn’t know that the boy named Arin was such a cute girl. If they had known, they’d have tried to foster good relations with this cute junior instead!
Slowly, under the despising gazes of their peers, thirty-one individuals stepped forward.
