Ace Dragon Rider
Chapter 63 - 55: Yavenny
Inside the Principal’s office, a figure resembling Gandalf, the Principal, was looking helplessly at the elf in front of him.
"Yavenny, can you not casually conjure illusions like that? We have a contract between us, and you can’t just act against humans at will."
The Principal was reorganizing the books on his desk as he spoke.
"I can’t help it. What else can I do when they don’t listen to me besides hypnotizing them?"
Yavenny was sitting sideways on the Principal’s vast desk, her legs crossed, her arms propped up, looking at the principal. A pink light was flashing in her eyes, seemingly spreading a pink hue throughout the room,.
"Alright, quit it. I am over two thousand three hundred years old this year and the Dragon Tomb has been calling me quite a few times now. Save that aphrodisiac spell for the kid you fancy, I haven’t had that function for some time now."
The Principal waved his hand and the pink hue in the air disappeared suddenly.
"You’d think I hadn’t tried. That kid has a pretty strong will. Even my direct aphrodisiac spell, he escaped with his will."
The Principal could not help but smile wryly. "You really don’t know how to spell the word ’die,’ do you? You’ve almost done everything that’s forbidden in the contract. Are there so many loopholes in our original agreement?"
Yavenny laughed. "There’s no loophole. But, I’m pretty good at going around the contract."
With a resigned shake of his head, the Principal said, "Yes, I’ve seen you as an elf for too long, I’ve almost forgotten where you come from. Have you heard anything from your sister?"
On the subject of her sister, Yavenny’s expression dimmed, "Still no news - no trace of her anywhere, and no word from the White Dragon Knight Order. I wonder if she’s just randomly married someone."
"Hehe, that’s impossible," said the Principal.
"Yeah, I don’t believe it either," said Yavenny.
"..."
After a moment of silence between them, Yavenny spoke up again. "Old man, what are you planning to do about that demon abyss dragon?"
The Principal stopped arranging his books, considering carefully.
"Actually, that little demon abyss dragon is quite cute. Plus, we can’t determine right now that the addition of a demon abyss dragon to the war would change the course of the war."
The Principal said.
"Really? But don’t forget, that little chap is Tyl’s son, your old buddy. Also, he has the royal bloodline. If, in the future, the demons from Sulfur Island come to support him, that would be a force to reckon with..."
With a threatening look on her face, Yavenny’s eyes sparkled with a purple flame.
"Cough, cough, your intimidation spell won’t work on me, so save it," said the Principal. "Actually, you should also know that there are only about a dozen demon abyss dragons on Sulfur Island, and they are all dormant in the magma at the moment. Though the Demon Abyss dragons are more powerful than our humans’ dragon clan, but our entire empire has three thousand Dragon Knights. What kind of power can a demon abyss dragon have without a dragon rider? The loss of the Black Dragon Empire would not have been so great if it were not for the intervention of the Demon Abyss Dragon Queen. The Black Dragon Empire can only blame its own greed for summoning foreign dragon clans, it was really asking for death. Therefore, there is no need to worry about the little demon abyss dragon. Moreover, this Long Yi is a member of our White Dragon Empire. Even if he summons the demon abyss dragon to join him in the future, it is still our White Dragon Empire’s strength, what is there to worry about?"
Yavenny was staring intently at the Principal, then laughed softly. "Hehe, I knew you, old dragon, have a big heart. But I don’t believe all of you dragon race are so generous. Let’s get this straight, in case one day in the future, if the handsome boy falls out with you, I’m on his side, oh!"
The Principal was stunned. "Why would we fall out with him?" 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Yavenny shook her head. "You think I’m making it up? You can go and ask your Dragon Clan’s Secret Elder Council about what they think of what happened seventeen thousand years ago. But I suggest you don’t go asking around casually. If you’re not careful, you might not make it to the Dragon Tomb, but quite possibly be locked up in the Burial Ground."
Burial Ground?
The Principal’s brow furrowed. He knew very well what the Burial Ground was. It was a place to imprison the serious criminals of the Dragon Clan. Only the most heinous criminal dragons would be locked up there. There, the necrotic energy from the dead dragons would severely weaken a dragon’s vitality. Dragons that died there would be transformed into bone dragons without any consciousness, becoming the Dragon Clan’s war machines.
The Principal knew Yavenny’s identity. He instinctively didn’t believe her, but without reason, there can’t be wind from an empty cave. Although Yavenny could be unreliable, she wasn’t one to make things up.
Seeing the Principal deep in thought, Yavenny didn’t say anything. She chuckled and turned to leave. But on her way out, she threw a comment over her shoulder. "Oh right, I’m here to apply to be a second-year Dragon Language Instructor. I’ve talked with the original second-year Dragon Language Instructor. I left the application on your desk. I’ll come back for it once you’ve signed it!"
The voice still echoed in the room, but the person had already disappeared, without opening the dean’s office door.
The Dean shrugged helplessly. Yavenny was extremely secretive, and her words were three parts truth and seven parts fiction. It was better to selectively believe her. He glanced at the application on his desk and with a wave of his hand, a golden signature was imprinted on the previously blank area.
Second Year!
Early in the morning, before the first Dragon Language class, the instructor had yet not arrived, but the classroom was already full. The students were not studying as usual, but sat quietly, their minds obviously elsewhere. More often than not, their eyes darted toward the classroom door.
Today was the day when Long Yi would advance to the second year. Normally, if there was a talented junior advancing to the second year, the class would definitely hold a simple welcome party. But this time it was different. This "junior" had beaten all the top students of the second year to the ground just a month ago. As for Ai Lin, who was promoted with him, she single-handedly defeated thirty second-year land troops and won a resounding victory!
In their eyes, these two were not here to advance their grade, they were here to show off!
Show off their prowess!
"Big Brother, what should we do? Are we going to let him join the second year so easily?" Luo Qi quietly asked Tang Ze on his side.
"Can you drive him out?" Tang Ze retorted.
Any student’s promotion would be signed and ordered by the dean himself, an order that even the emperor had no right to interfere with. Stopping Long Yi’s promotion was utterly impossible.
If Long Yi were weak, they could suppress him by force. But the problem was, both Long Yi and Ai Lin were very strong. In a one-on-one fight, neither of them stood a chance against either of them.
So, should they gang up on him?
Tang Ze knew that if he stood out now, the whole class would respond. However, this was not Tang Ze’s style; he was not the kind of person to do this. If he wanted to win, he would do it above board. As a Dragon Knight, he disdained such a victory.
When Long Yi and Ai Lin appeared at the entrance of the second year classroom, all eyes were on them, ready to pounce. Particularly Tang Ze, who was sitting in the middle, his eyes nearly popped out.
"Yo, brothers, good morning!"
Long Yi jovially greeted them.
To hell with the Knights’ glory!
Tang Ze might be patient, but Luo Qi couldn’t hold back. He stood up, yelled, "Brothers, all together now!"
Almost at the same time, Ai Lin also walked into the classroom.
Whoosh!
All eyes left Long Yi and focused on Ai Lin.
Her pure and lovely face coupled with the sexy figure, coupled with the slight shyness of entering a strange new class, immediately made all the boys in the second year the embodiment of a gentleman, the embodiment of knightly spirit.
Luo Qi looked awkwardly from side to side, his eyes signaling for them to get up. But faced with Ai Lin, who was willing to raise a fist?
No humanity!
No loyalty!
When nobody responded, Luo Qi was forced to sit back down, seething with frustration.
Long Yi smiled faintly, slowly walking up to Luo Qi, and said sincerely, "You pick the time and place, whoever doesn’t show is a coward."
