Adventure: My Skills Evolve Infinitely
Chapter 147 - 120: Bull Chief
Just as Chairman Vick had said yesterday, the quest wall today was indeed filled with many new quests related to Undead Creatures.
Lin Mo’s gaze first lingered on the D Level section.
Most D Level tasks were still quite difficult, a bit of a stretch for the current Silver Radiance Squad. However, the few new quests related to Undead Creatures seemed slightly easier in comparison.
[Slay the Frosty Corpse]
Quest No.: D758
Type: Clean-up
Client: Adventurer’s Association
Reward: 200 Gold
Quest Brief:
Head to the Loran Forest Deep Forest Area and slay the special Undead Creature—the Frosty Corpse.
Note 1: The target’s Threat Level is tentatively set at Level 3. Please accept with caution!
Note 2: There may be a large number of other Undead Creatures around the target. Be sure to scout carefully before undertaking the quest!
’A Threat Level 3, huh...’
Lin Mo glanced at his current Attributes.
[Name]: Lin Mo
[Profession]: Warrior Level 2, Knight Level 1, Assassin Level 1
[Attributes]:
Strength: 23 (29)
Agility: 18 (25)
Constitution: 16 (24)
Spirit: 5
Magic Power: 4
Fire Element Affinity: 13%
This stat panel was undoubtedly quite impressive. His Agility and Constitution had effectively reached the level of a Level 2 Professional, and his Strength wasn’t far off from a Level 3 Professional’s.
But even for a Level 3 Professional, dealing with a Threat Level 3 Demon was extremely difficult.
After all, Threat Level wasn’t defined by a one-on-one fight.
A Threat Level 1 Demon required a Professional leading a full Adventurer Squad to defeat.
By that same logic, a Threat Level 3 Demon would require a Level 3 Professional to lead a team of suitably matched allies to challenge it. Teammates suitable for a Level 3 Professional would need to include at least one or two at Level 2, with the rest being close to Level 2.
To be honest, the current Silver Radiance Squad was far from this standard. Ali was a pure Level 1 Professional; although stronger than the average Professional, she was still within the confines of Level 1. As for Feney, it had been some time since she became a Professional, but there was still a gap before she reached Level 2.
Although he really wanted to seize the opportunity and take this relatively simple D Level Task, in terms of strength, the current Silver Radiance Squad was still lacking.
The only reason he had been able to take down that adult Crimson Flame Tiger before was because it had already been seriously injured.
Lin Mo shook his head and reluctantly gave up on the idea.
’Let’s look at the E Level Tasks first.’
There were a lot more E Level Tasks, so for a moment, he couldn’t find any related to Undead Creatures.
Lin Mo stared for a long time, his eyes getting blurry from the sheer number of options.
But he finally managed to find a decent quest.
[Hunt the Mutated Great Rat]
Quest No.: E1348
Type: Clean-up
Client: Adventurer’s Association
Reward: 40 Gold
Quest Brief:
A Mutated Great Rat has appeared in the Loran Forest Deep Forest Area, causing a significant impact on the local geology. If left unchecked, it could lead to the formation of too many underground cavities in the vicinity, posing a risk of ambush or cave-ins for passing Adventurers.
Note 1: The target’s Threat Level is tentatively set at Level 2.
A Threat Level 2 opponent wasn’t a particularly tough challenge for Lin Mo. The only issue was that clean-up quests were heavily reward-based, meaning the Demon itself wasn’t very valuable. Compared to material gathering quests, the overall profit would be slightly lower.
But 40 Gold Coins was still a rather generous reward and definitely worth taking.
After choosing one quest, selecting the next became even more difficult.
He had to consider the distance between the two quest locations and the travel time required. As a rule of thumb, it was inadvisable to accept two quests that were too far apart on a single trip. It would be better to return, restock, and set out again.
The multiple quests they had taken before had all been relatively close to each other.
Back then, Alton had been responsible for this work. Now that it was his turn, Lin Mo suddenly understood how tough the job was.
Staring at the sea of quests plastered over the entire wall, he felt a headache coming on.
After looking for a full half-hour, he finally found a suitable target.
[Bull Chief]
Quest No.: E6636
Type: Clean-up
Client: Adventurer’s Association
Reward: 40 Gold + Material Purchase (or trade with others)
Quest Brief:
A rare Minotaur Settlement has appeared in the Loran Forest Deep Forest Area, which includes one Bull Chief. It needs to be cleared out promptly.
Note 1: The target’s Threat Level is tentatively set at Level 2.5.
This quest wasn’t too far from the Mutated Great Rat’s area of activity—only about half a day’s journey.
Besides, compared to the quest to clean up the great rat, this one was clearly more appealing.
This was because besides the reward from the Association, the materials from the Minotaurs themselves were valuable, not to mention those from the Bull Chief. That was also why the Association hadn’t set a particularly high price for this quest.
In other words, for quests like the one for the Mutated Great Rat, where there were no valuable materials, the quest reward included a certain extra subsidy.
A Threat Level of 2.5 was also just right in terms of difficulty; they should be able to handle it.
Most importantly...
Lin Mo currently had an unfinished quest.
[Horn Charge]
Quest No.: E2334
Type: Hunt/Material Gathering
Client: Los
Reward: 21 Gold/pair
Quest Brief:
Travel to Loran Forest, find and kill Minotaurs, and bring back complete horns.
Quest Duration: Long-term
Note: If High Tier Minotaurs are found, you may also contact the client for purchase. The price will be to your satisfaction!
