After Divorce, She Became a Global Sensation and Won't Forgive Her Groveling Husband and Son
Chapter 216: He Is Dirty, Joanna Sherman Is Dirty
Lillian Forrest also smelled the fragrance, and knowing it was her brother cooking, her eyes curved into crescents. She tugged on Sophia Shaw’s arm and said, "Sophie, don’t be in such a hurry to leave. Stay and have a bite."
Sophia Shaw wanted to refuse, but Jenson Forrest had already walked out with two bowls of noodles. "It’s nothing fancy, but if you don’t mind, please stay and eat."
Lillian Forrest shook Sophia Shaw’s arm repeatedly. "Faye, please stay. Just think of it as keeping me company."
The girl’s soft, sweet voice made it impossible for Sophia Shaw to refuse, so she could only walk to the dining table with her.
Jenson Forrest gently placed the noodles in front of her. Lillian Forrest said a bit eagerly, "Faye, hurry and try it."
Sophia Shaw thanked him in a low voice, took the chopsticks, and picked up a few strands to put in her mouth.
They were indeed fragrant and soft, perfectly to her taste.
Jenson Forrest watched Sophia Shaw eat the noodles with a profound gaze, his fingertips still retaining the warmth from the pad of her finger when she took the chopsticks. He couldn’t help but clench them slightly.
"Delicious," Sophia Shaw gave a sincere reply.
Lillian Forrest’s eyebrows practically flew to the heavens with joy. "My brother doesn’t just make noodles, he can make lots and lots of other delicious food! Faye, you should come to our house often from now on. I’ll have my brother make them for you, one by one."
Sophia Shaw didn’t think anything more of it and politely replied, "Okay."
Lillian Forrest quickly held out her pinky. "Let’s pinky swear."
Before Sophia Shaw could react, she pulled her hand over, found her pinky, and hooked it with her own.
Sophia Shaw was speechless, but could only let her be.
Only after Sophia Shaw had left did Lillian Forrest link arms with Jenson Forrest and say gleefully, "Brother, the way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach. Once Sophie gets used to your delicious cooking, I’ll ask her to be my sister-in-law!"
The word "sister-in-law" entered his ears, and Jenson Forrest’s heart began to beat wildly, losing its rhythm.
When Sophia Shaw got home, she found that Levin Sawyer had come over.
He was sitting in the living room, playing with Bun.
The little one had pressed her face against Levin Sawyer’s forehead and was pulling on his ears as if they were toys, gurgling with delight.
Levin Sawyer was happy to indulge her, letting her squeeze and squish him however she pleased.
Ms. Archer saw her and came over, intentionally gesturing toward the two of them. "He’s a pretty competent godfather, isn’t he? Bun really likes him, too."
Sophia Shaw smiled and walked over to pick up Bun.
At first, Bun wasn’t happy about it, kicking her chubby little legs nonstop, but she immediately behaved when she turned and saw it was her own mother.
Holding Bun, Sophia Shaw turned to Levin Sawyer. "Levin, what brings you here?"
"I haven’t seen Bun in a while, so I made a special trip to see her."
On the table beside them were the things Levin Sawyer had bought.
Bun slid down and dived into the shopping bags, huffing and puffing as she pulled things out one by one.
From clothes to toys, he had gotten everything.
"Levin, you’re way too thoughtful," Sophia Shaw praised.
"I never would’ve thought an unmarried man like you would be so good at buying things for a child."
Levin Sawyer’s face turned slightly red, but his gaze was gentle as he looked at Bun.
"My mom told me to get some practice."
Sophia Shaw didn’t catch the hidden meaning in his words and just smiled, pressing her lips together.
But Ms. Archer caught it.
’So Levin Sawyer wants to learn how to take care of Bun in advance.’
She quickly chimed in, "You should come over more often in the future. Bun is very fond of her godfather."
"YA YA, YA YA."
Bun nodded while hugging the toy piano she had dug out of the bag, completely agreeing with Ms. Archer’s words.
Levin Sawyer walked over, helped Bun open the packaging, and put batteries in the toy piano.
He held Bun’s little hand and pressed it on the keys.
The little piano immediately played a tune: "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."
Bun was overjoyed. She broke free from Levin Sawyer’s hand and immediately started mashing the keys randomly.
The two women watched Levin Sawyer’s every move. Ms. Archer helped promote him, "You can tell at a glance that he has the potential to be a great father. A man like that is hard to find."
"You’re right. I wonder what lucky girl will get to marry a sweet guy like him."
Sophia Shaw truly hadn’t thought about it that way.
A woman like her, who had already given birth to two children, wouldn’t dare lay claim to a catch like Levin Sawyer.
Levin Sawyer’s heart clenched. Seeing Ms. Archer shoot him an inquisitive look, he shook his head.
’Sophia Shaw just got out of a marriage. It’s better not to push her.’
"It’s getting late. I should be going."
"I’ll walk you out," Sophia Shaw said.
The two of them walked out together.
Night had just fallen, the most romantic blue hour. A round moon hung in the deep blue sky, serene and beautiful.
They walked under the moonlight.
"It must have been very hard for you recently," Levin Sawyer asked softly.
He hadn’t expected so many twists and turns to happen.
’If I had known earlier, I would never have left her to face all this alone.’
"It’s okay. It’s all in the past now."
Sophia Shaw’s reply left Levin Sawyer with a complicated feeling in his heart.
He wanted her to be a little more vulnerable, so that he would have a chance to be by her side.
But he was also afraid that if she were too vulnerable, she would be bullied.
His emotions were too complex, and Levin Sawyer almost instinctively pulled her into his arms for a hug.
Sophia Shaw froze for a moment.
Before she could figure out what was happening, she was pierced by a bright light.
After the sudden flash of bright light, Vincent Grant’s noble and handsome face was revealed.
He watched the two of them through the car window, a shadow of gloom lurking beneath his brows.
Levin Sawyer had originally intended to pull away right after the hug, but upon seeing Vincent Grant, he was no longer in a hurry. He deliberately patted Sophia Shaw’s back.
An unspoken intimacy hung between them.
His gaze shifted to Vincent Grant, his raised eyebrow carrying a naked provocation.
Vincent Grant opened the car door and got out.
Sophia Shaw hadn’t expected Vincent Grant to find her here. She froze for a second before pulling out of Levin Sawyer’s embrace.
Before she could fully pull away, her arm was grabbed, held tight in the man’s palm.
Her body followed, landing by Vincent Grant’s side.
"President Sawyer, long time no see."
Vincent Grant’s words were a greeting, but the arm wrapped around Sophia Shaw’s declared his possessiveness, and his eyes were filled with hostility.
Levin Sawyer glanced at the fingers resting on Sophia Shaw’s arm. "President Grant, what brings you here? Your beloved, your white moonlight, the great goddess Joanna Sherman, the Eldest Miss Sherman, has been losing spectacularly lately. It’s been a total disaster. Shouldn’t President Grant be by her side every second?"
Levin Sawyer used several descriptors in a row, emphasizing each one, making them as harsh as possible.
"After all, President Grant even handled her adoption of a child personally. To accompany her while she watched someone else give birth, you even ignored your own family member who was in mortal danger during childbirth. With something so major happening, it wouldn’t make sense for you not to be with her, would it?"
Vincent Grant’s brow twitched, but his thoughts didn’t stray.
He was aware that June Evans had been in danger during childbirth around the same time Joanna Sherman was adopting her child.
He responded coldly, "This is my private business. It’s no concern of President Sawyer’s."
Sophia Shaw already despised Vincent Grant, so being held by him like this was unbearably uncomfortable. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Not wanting to struggle too obviously, she only squirmed discreetly.
Hearing him say something so disgusting, she couldn’t stand it any longer. With a forceful tug, she wrenched her arm out of his grasp.
As if she had touched something filthy, she leaped out of his sphere of influence, putting a great distance between them.
Levin Sawyer took a small step forward, shielding her behind him in a clear gesture of protection.
Vincent Grant’s jaw tightened, his gaze locked on Sophia Shaw.
Levin Sawyer tilted his head. "President Grant, stop staring at Faye. You’ll make her sick."
"You touch other women and then come here to touch my Faye. Don’t you have any sense of hygiene?"
Every word, both spoken and unspoken, was calling him and Joanna Sherman filthy.
