"I always feel it’s too unusual."

"Are you going to participate?"

Stellan nodded, "I will go, why not go? Not going would make it seem like I’m afraid to go."

"You’re right. On that day, dress up nicely so that those who haven’t seen you in a long time will see how beautiful you have become."

"Grace, you should come too." Stellan felt uncertain about going alone.

"I don’t have an invitation, so I can’t get in."

"It’s okay, just tell the person checking identities at the time, and you’ll be fine."

"Will that work?"

"Why wouldn’t it work? The Green Family will definitely be welcoming guests that day and will let you in."

"That said, I should also prepare." Grace suddenly felt a bit excited and nervous; she hadn’t seen Jacob in a long time and could only search for his news online.

The subsequent time seemed to pass very slowly for Grace.

But as each day passed, there was one less left to wait.

On the evening of October 25th, the two began their return journey.

They arrived home in the early morning of October 26th.

After a few hours of sleep, they got up to dress up.

Wearing beautiful dresses, with perfectly done makeup.

Before 9 o’clock, they went to attend the wedding banquet.

The wedding was held in the hall on the second floor of a five-star hotel.

The venue was exclusively booked for today.

Many guests attended.

The parking lot was almost entirely filled with luxury cars.

Grace and Stellan successfully entered and found seats to sit.

"Grace, look over there."

Following her gaze, Grace saw Jacob in a black suit, conversing with guests.

There was a gentle smile on his face, still exuding his noble and commanding presence.

Grace couldn’t help but stare as a faint sense of pride welled up inside her. He was indeed the man she had admired for years, so imposing.

"Is that Elliot Gill, the current president of Palmer Corporation, coming in at the entrance? Who is the woman beside him?" Stellan asked curiously.

"Secretary or bodyguard? I don’t know."

The woman with the unclear status in their eyes was Lucy Eaton. She didn’t really want to come today but Elliot insisted on bringing her.

She didn’t want to come because she feared losing control upon seeing Jacob and wanted to rush over to him.

Now that she saw him, she couldn’t bear to look away for even a moment.

Jacob saw Elliot coming over and the two shook hands.

"It must have been hard for you to find time in your busy schedule to come, delaying Mr. Gill’s earnings."

"You might be busy, but you have to come regardless, right?"

Jacob looked towards Lucy beside Elliot, but Lucy wasn’t looking at him, instead looking elsewhere.

"Mr. Gill, your seats are over there."

"Alright, I’ll head over first and chat later."

Only then did Lucy look at him, but Jacob had already shifted his gaze away.

In this venue, she saw those she wanted to see and those she didn’t.

After waiting for nearly an hour, the wedding began. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Numerous media outlets were present at the guest seats for live broadcasting; this was decided after discussions between Elijah Sheppard’s agency and the Sheppards and Green Family.

These media outlets were going to provide a comprehensive live broadcast of the wedding.

Lily Green was wearing a grand bridal gown, her face adorned with a faint smile as she walked slowly down the red carpet, arm-in-arm with her father, towards Elijah Sheppard who was waiting by the officiant.

The officiant was humorous and witty, often making the guests and the two newlyweds laugh heartily during the ceremony.

During the ring exchange, an unexpected event occurred.

Logan Moore entered through the hall entrance clad in a white robe.

He walked straight towards the newlyweds.

Everyone was stunned by this uninvited guest.

Mrs. Green was the first to react, shouting, "Security, hurry and throw him out!"

Logan Moore turned and glanced around at everyone, "Who dares?!"

His voice wasn’t loud, yet it was powerfully intimidating.

The security guards continued to approach, and Elijah’s mother spoke up, "Let’s see what he intends to do?"

She could tell that Lily knew this man.

Logan Moore walked up to her, reached out to grab the microphone from the officiant, "Lily, even though your family’s elders strongly opposed us being together because of my background, even resorting to using the destruction of my family’s temple to threaten you, I know you find it difficult. But today, amidst so many people, I must say what I want to say, because if I don’t say it today, I’ll never have another chance. You waited until you were 26 to find your love, your family doesn’t know how precious it is. They won’t know if you’ll be happy marrying someone you don’t love; they just think that a match in social standing is enough, that maintaining the appearance of compatibility suffices. Do you think voluntarily getting married to meet their requirements was a wise choice? You have decades to walk your own path, why live for them? They can’t stand in your shoes and feel what you feel, but you chose to compromise. Whether the Green Family plans to destroy our family’s temple or intends to do something to me, I don’t care. I came here today to tell you that I don’t need you to do anything for me, because love is always about mutual willingness."

As soon as Logan said these words, the guests were in an uproar.

The Green Family and The Sheppards all had extremely displeased expressions.

"What complete nonsense!" Mrs. Green exclaimed, "Lily only regards you as a friend, yet you’ve entangled yourself into today’s wedding occasion. What’s your intention? Lily, in front of all these people, make him see reality clearly."

Lily’s face turned pale as a sheet, her eyes shimmering with moisture. If she denied Logan’s words, she would save face for The Sheppards and Green Family. But if she acknowledged Logan’s words, it would be equivalent to slapping both families in the face.

She was now in an extremely difficult position, caught between a rock and a hard place.

Seeing her speechless, Mrs. Green urged her, "Speak!"

The hall was extremely quiet, just waiting for her to speak.

Lily’s hand secretly clenched tight as she looked at the numerous guests, and she said, "I broke up with Mr. Moore a while ago because my family’s elders strongly opposed it. Later, I attended a matchmaking event and happened to meet my husband, Elijah, and it naturally progressed to matchmaking. Marrying Elijah is something I do willingly. I believe he’s a person worthy of lifelong trust."

She acknowledged the truth of being in love with Logan Moore while reclaiming face for The Sheppards. She merely hurt her family’s pride. Seeing her grandmother in a furious state, Lily felt immensely satisfied.

"Doesn’t everyone have an ex? It’s not a big deal." Elijah interjected, "Since Lily married me, I will make her happy, trying for two kids in three years."

The atmosphere instantly revived, cheers echoed unceasingly.

For Logan Moore, this was actually the best opportunity for Lily to shake off her marital burden, because he spoke those words, all Lily had to do was say she wanted to go with him, and no one would blame her.

He merely wanted to take her away, but he hadn’t thought of what would happen if she left; the wedding today would be ruined, and what kind of humiliation that would be for The Sheppards.

Especially since Elijah was a renowned singer.

This made it much more embarrassing for him.
