After Rebirth: The Alpha Ex-Husband Is Addicted to Me
Chapter 249: Living in Your Heart (Part 13)
Everything fell into place so naturally.
"So tight."
Lily Green closed her eyes, not daring to meet his smiling gaze.
Elijah Sheppard gave her an ultimate physical pleasure.
As the Vice President of Clan Green, she was used to being strong, but under him, she became a delicate little woman.
Elijah Sheppard wouldn’t bother with any contraception.
When he said at the wedding that they’d have two kids in three years, he wasn’t joking.
Their marital intimacy lasted almost two hours before it ended.
Though it wasn’t Lily Green’s first time, she hadn’t had many experiences.
Being so exhausted by him, how could she bear it?
"Let’s go skiing tomorrow instead."
Elijah Sheppard watched her come out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and couldn’t help but say, "You said you wanted to ski, and now you don’t want to? That’s not right; people should keep their word."
After having lunch, the two of them set off anyway.
Lily Green kept glancing at him, "Honestly, how many girlfriends have you had before?"
"Two."
"No wonder... you’re so experienced."
"How could I make you feel good if I wasn’t? It seems like you’re very satisfied with our married life."
Lily Green turned her face towards the car window, feeling somewhat at ease; she wasn’t a first-timer, and neither was he, so it was even.
When the car arrived at the ski resort, Elijah Sheppard spotted the paparazzi.
"Someone’s taking photos." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Lily Green also noticed as she looked around.
As they got out of the car, the two started holding hands.
Knowing they were being photographed, Lily Green smiled more; she didn’t want those reporters writing senseless stories.
Outside, she gave Elijah enough face-value acknowledgment.
They would occasionally kiss and hug, making everyone else envious.
Everything was captured by the paparazzi’s cameras.
Initially, the couple was more careful with the reporters, but soon they forgot about them while playing.
It had to be said, coming out to relax was truly nice.
The accumulated stress seemed to be blown away by the wind.
——
Charles Sharp detailed Sophie Bennett’s actions to the elders of the Sharp Clan, who supported the divorce.
When Charles Sharp sent the divorce papers to the Presidential Mansion, they mailed them back the very next day.
The Presidential Mansion’s seal and Sophie Bennett’s signature were on it.
As soon as the documents were submitted to the civil affairs department, Charles Sharp received a personal call from the President.
"I hope this matter will be kept secret for a few years."
Charles Sharp agreed, "Alright."
As long as he could get rid of this mistaken marriage and never see Sophie Bennett’s face again, there was nothing he couldn’t accept.
After the procedures were completed, he returned to the Sharp family residence to discuss the matter; although Sharpe’s mother felt the divorce was a relief, she couldn’t help but worry about her son.
"The Presidential Mansion wants us to hide the divorce news for a few years, which means you can’t remarry so soon."
"I don’t want to marry again," Charles Sharp said with a pursed lip, "If I can’t be with the person I love, marriage or no marriage is all the same, marrying a troublesome wife and dealing with her issues is simply a hassle."
"You can’t be alone for a lifetime, can you? Who will manage the company in the future without an heir?"
"I’ll handle the child matter, you don’t need to worry, you’ll be holding my child soon."
The elders of the Sharp Clan couldn’t understand what he meant by this, and Charles Sharp didn’t elaborate.
"Mr. Sharp, are you really going to do this?"
"Is there something inappropriate?"
The assistant hesitated, "Given your conditions, Mr. Sharp, it’s really unnecessary."
"I’m tired of becoming a family with a woman I don’t love."
Seeing him say this, the assistant dropped the subject.
Charles Sharp’s subordinate came in, and the assistant left.
"The Presidential Mansion has confirmed a treatment team for the Second Highness from a renowned ophthalmic institute in Northriver."
"Only the President could decide to use a discarded pawn again," Charles Sharp was in high spirits after the divorce, "The grand show is officially set to start, truly something to watch."
"Has Your Highness been abandoned?"
"Almost."
"But hasn’t the Second Highness’s eyes been uncurable for years?"
Charles Sharp’s words implied more, "Do you really think it was incurable back then? Although it’s been difficult after so many years, it’s not impossible. As long as the President is earnest about giving him back his sight, there’s nothing hard about it."
"Recently, Jacob Green has spent more time in Northriver than in Ningham. Even if Clan Green has a project in Northriver, it shouldn’t be to this extent."
"If there’s something unusual, there must be something fishy. Keep an eye on his movements and see what he’s up to in Northriver."
"Yes."
——
Grace Hughes was captured and brought back from abroad.
This was unexpected for her.
She thought Jacob Green would resolve Stellan Quinn’s matters, but she only realized he had set a trap after she was apprehended.
She wouldn’t admit it, but she felt powerless in the face of the evidence.
Facing such a massive amount of wealth being embezzled, it was conservatively estimated she’d be in jail for many years.
Grace Hughes was terrified; she requested to meet with Stellan Quinn.
Stellan Quinn agreed.
On the day they met, it was snowing heavily outside. Grace Hughes looked at Stellan Quinn’s expressionless face and tried to use her old tricks to cajole him.
"Stellan, it was Jacob Green who instructed me to do all this. It wasn’t my intention; I was momentarily confused. I’ll return all the money to you, please let me go this time?"
"I treated you so well, and you still managed to be ’momentarily confused’?" Stellan Quinn smirked, "You really have no heart."
Grace Hughes wept bitterly, "Yes, I know I deserve to die ten thousand times over. How could I do such an inexcusable thing? I truly know I was wrong. Grace, I’m begging you to give me a way out. Let me do anything for you like a slave."
"No need to be a slave; you mainly just need to return something to me."
"What?"
"I won’t tell you now, I’m just asking if you agree or not."
"As long as I have it, I’ll definitely return it to you."
"You definitely have it." Stellan Quinn had a peculiar smile on his face, which Grace Hughes found very unsettling because it felt so unfamiliar.
"Since I have it, I agree." Grace hesitated, "But Jacob Green will definitely not let you withdraw the lawsuit; it’s already been investigated by the police, it’s very troublesome."
