Chapter 105: Thoughts on Going Premium

It’s going premium...

It will officially go premium at midnight on the 1st.

The style and pacing were the foundational tone I decided on when I wrote the very first Chapter.

Perhaps some readers have known me for a while and feel that my style has changed so drastically compared to my previous works that I seem like a completely different person.

But the truth is, this is just the kind of author I am. With every book, I like to try out a new idea.

For the most part, this book is written from Lu Cang’s first-person perspective, but it also interweaves third-person and first-person narration. I’m not sticking to a traditional point-of-view.

Of course, when necessary, I’ll occasionally insert the perspectives of other characters as well.

I chose this style for a simple reason: it’s what suits this book best.

I think this writing style is quite unique. I’ve rarely seen anyone else write this way.

Maybe others have written like this before, and perhaps this style even has a name already. But regardless, I’m not intentionally trying to imitate anyone’s style.

Rather, it comes from my own thoughts...

This book has many Western fantasy elements, but it doesn’t have those kinds of complicated Western names like "Lesika Alderney."

I won’t deliberately write with a "translation-ese" feel or intentionally imitate Western elements.

Because I don’t want any of this to follow some kind of formula or a certain type of Rule.

There are too many rules in web fiction. Is the protagonist a Holy Mother? Does the story torture the MC? Is the MC constantly suppressed? Is the pacing fast or slow? I’m exhausted from writing about all that.

What I want to write is my own philosophy—to forge a path that is uniquely mine, my own world, from among countless others.

Everything is based on what I believe suits this world, not on some formula that says it must be written this way or some regulation that demands that. There are no classifications like this system or that genre, no talk of this school or that subgenre...

But enough talk.

I believe the most important thing for an author is an unwavering conviction. If that conviction isn’t strong enough, what you write will end up a tattered mess.

I’m afraid that if I’m confined by rules and restrictions, I’ll stumble and fall, and the story will lose its soul.

So, this book is my own stubborn undertaking. I am simply presenting this world as I see it.

A thousand people, a thousand different ideas.

You can’t make a bowl of douhua that’s both sweet and savory. Even if you could, it would probably just end up being disliked by both sides, not loved by them.

I’m not a perfect author, and I certainly can’t please everyone.

Trying to satisfy every single reader is just too difficult.

Is there really any novel out there that everyone loves to read?

So, I will just stick to my own path. As long as I can write without any regrets, that’s enough for me.

I’m not aiming for this to be some kind of masterpiece; I only hope that it can be considered an interesting story.

I also know one thing: while it’s hard to cater to everyone’s tastes, when it comes to updates, more is always better. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

For any of my shortcomings, I’ll at least make up for them with updates.

I’ve actually already written a lot for this book, but due to the update restrictions during the new book period, I could only release a little bit each day.

I could have gone premium much earlier, but I ended up dragging it out to Chapter 101, and the character count has already surpassed 220,000.

I’m not in a rush, not trying to hurry things along, and I’m not demanding that this first book achieve some dazzling success. As a newcomer here, all I ask is that I can be proud of this work.

I especially want to thank Shanji and Rong for their support, as well as all the readers who have supported me along the way.

Tomorrow, for the premium launch, I’ll be dropping a 23-Chapter burst, totaling 100,000 characters.

My update plan for this year is 15,000 characters per day, except for Mondays, when I’ll only update 8,000 characters (I need a day off per week to rest and to organize the outline).

For anyone who becomes a "Lord" (盟主), I will add an extra 5,000-character Chapter the very next day. (This offer is only valid for this year.)

I will make up for my shortcomings in other areas with my dedicated attitude.

Every update is the result of long hours of careful thought in front of my computer. I will never rush the work or cut corners.

I guarantee that every update is released only when I have a buffer of at least 30,000 characters written. I will never just randomly write something on the day of release or make things up on the fly.

I’m not smarter, faster at typing, or more talented than other authors.

I’m just more willing to dedicate a large amount of time to writing every single day. If I don’t have talent, at least I can work harder.

That’s all I have to say. I’m asking for your first-day subscriptions now that the book is premium, and even more, I’m asking for your monthly tickets.

From October 1st to the 7th, it’s a double monthly ticket period, so if you have any tickets, please bombard me with them.

I’ve been preparing for this book for a long time.

I hope the wonders of this world will live up to your expectations.
