Almighty Father System
Chapter 455: Goddess Of Mercy.
Leo was walking behind Priest Hank. The old man was not in the hurry to speak, but the corridor seemed to be infinite. Elena and Julian were getting anxious. Leo tried to calm them down but his actions were not yielding any results. The young man asked, "Your Holiness, how long is this corridor, my children are getting anxious and that is not something I like."
Priest Hank replied, "We are here."
As soon as he spoke, the corridor finished and it opened up in a big hall. This hall was something even more magnificent then the hall where the baptising ceremony was held. The children calmed down instantly, they began to look around and babble with each other. After that, Leo asked, "What do you want to talk about, Your Holiness?"
The old man said, "I have called you here to tell you the answers of the questions that you have been thinking about."
Priest Hank gestured towards the bench and Leo sat down, he noticed that the place had a thick spongy cushion with a couple of toys. The young man furrowed his brows and his instincts began to twitch for action. The reason was simple because when he came in, there was no bench and no cushion and toys.
He took a deep breath and asked, "So, what is going on?"
Priest Hank smiled and said, "I knew that you would notice it. This hall is one of the few chambers that were left accessible by the Goddess Of Mercy for the temple priests and the special guests. This room has a nano technology system around it to construct all the things that are sensed by the integrated Artificial intelligence. I am sure that you can understand what I am talking about, right?"
Leo was stunned when he heard the old man talking to him about advanced technology but then he calmed down because it was not something that was out of the ordinary. The data he had found from the archives had already told him. The young man looked at the old man and nodded before he sighed and replied, "I see, but what does it have to do with me?"
The monk smiled knowingly as Leo placed the children carefully on the cushion and Hank said, "You have always wanted to know if there would come a day when the human race would have to face the threat of the reptile race once again? Have you not?"
Leo nodded as he looked at the man right in the eye, before he took a deep breath and said, "Yes, this is the question that all the humans should think about it. Because from what I have found in the archives of the Morning Star Tower, those people intend to turn the world into a cattle farm, where they can procure all kinds of resources."
Monk Hank nodded and said, "Yes, it is true. Those people will surely not come here in peace, and when they do, we might not have any power in our hands to face them head on, however, with the situation turning around because of your research this is something that has caused a lot of development in terms of technology has been very quick. There is now a chance that we might be able to withstand the situation."
Leo nodded and said, "I don’t intend to withstand this thing, but rather retaliate."
Hank raised his brow and his back straightened a little. He asked, "How do you intend to do that? The world is not longer what it used to be, the Morning Star Tower is gone but what they did cannot be undone."
Leo nodded and replied, "Yes, that is true, but you know what, Your Holiness, I am going to cover it all up, just like they used to cover it all up."
Hank was surprised and Leo said, "The next phase of my action is to set up web crawlers, they are simple, but I will tweak with them, and when things that were created by the Morning Star Tower, surface, they will be covered up quickly. Gradually the people will not have the time to even think about such things. The world will develop quickly and too fast for them. All I am waiting for is the space elevator to complete and then the space freights will be deployed to carryout solar mining."
Leo continued speaking and Hank kept on listening everything, the old man was surprised to see how deeply Leo had set out the plan for the development. After thinking about it, he nodded and said, "Mister Cardinal, I would like to introduce you to someone."
Leo was surprised, he could not guess anything about the person, but he still nodded and the Monk stood up from the bench and said, "Follow me, the kids can stay here. They will be safe."
Leo frowned but then he saw that the twins seemed to have fallen asleep without him noticing anything about it and so he stood up and followed the old monk but his gaze would turn around to check the kids every few steps.
They passed another corridor, but this time it was a rather short one, but the room they entered was not really magnificent or anything, it was a dark room, and Leo could hear a faint noise in the surroundings. He asked, "Where is this?"
Hank mumbled something in an indistinct manner before a source of light illuminated the dark room. Leo turned his head to look at the source of light and found a small monitor had turned on. Then a mellow voice echoed, "Head Priest Hank, what purpose have you come here for?"
The old monk replied, "I have come to seek an audience, and make an introduction. This is Lord Cardinal, a young noble from the Sanctuary who has contributed greatly in the extermination of the Reptilian descendants on the planet. They have been nearly culled out by his effort alone."
The voice replied, "Please wait while the system is verifying the result."
After a few seconds the voice replied again, "Ninety percent of the reptilians have been exterminated. Leo Cardinal, qualified for an audience. Opening Sanctum Sanctorum."
As Leo heard this, something clicked in his mind, the young man had no idea how what was going on, but for some reason his hair were standing on their ends. The young man had never felt such a pressure on him every since he got augmented by the system.
A small hatch opened from the floor and then Hank said, "Come along and remember, whatever that you see inside is for your eyes only."
Leo smiled and asked, "Why do you sound so similar to those people from Morning Star Tower?"
Hank looked at Leo and then smiled as he led him through the hatch and they descended through the dark stairs. Leo had some trouble regulating his breath, because it was as if the air in this place was turning solid. He could not see anything at all. However he could sense that something was definitely not right. It was a feeling of fear, the fear that originated from the core of his being. And after some thinking he realized that it was not fear, the shaking of his hands was because of the adrenaline, he was excited.
Hank said, "Holy Mother, I have come seeking your guidance."
As soon as he heard this, Leo shivered, the Head Priest was the strongest authority in the Shire of the Goddess, if this old man was willing to bow his head and call someone else as Holy Mother, than this entity would be even stronger in terms of authority, however, Leo didn’t get to process such thoughts when an ethereal voice echoed in his ears, "Speak!"
Although the voice was soft and ethereal, it was otherworldly, and Leo had no idea what to say, he could not comprehend what was going on in the surroundings. Hank said, "This is Leo Cardinal, he is the youngster who is standing at the helm of this change. I wonder if it is time for the Shrine to stand tall."
At this moment, Leo sensed a gaze locked at himself, and could not help but clench his fist. Then he saw a pair of eyes, they were glowing, tearing at the shroud of darkness. Leo could not believe what he saw, because the pair of eyes was bigger than any human pair of eyes he had seen, and the pupils didn’t look like that of a human either, it was sparkling like a galaxy scattered around them.
He was stunned, and after a few moments the entire face illuminated, and the young man took a deep breath, he shivered, because the face before him belonged to the face on the idols of the Goddess of Mercy. The face belonged to the idol but Leo could not see anything below her neck. It was still dark.
The face smiled and said, "You have done well, Young Cardinal."
Leo shivered and quickly bowed his head because he felt that his soul would get sucked in the pair of divine eyes. Hank was already kneeling. Leo regained his composure and replied, "You flatter me too much."
The goddess smiled and said, "Are you wondering what address you should use?"
Leo nodded, the goddess could already read his thoughts, and so he could not hide anything. The Goddess replied, "You may call me, Hilee."
