The internet bustled about the communicator Leo and Snow took the entire family and they departed for the inauguration of the space elevator. The news had been disclosed to the rest of the nation and the traffic this news gathered was shocking, reason was simple, the King and the royal family was also going to attend the inauguration ceremony.

The family was sitting in the plane and Snow sighed and replied, "The nation is watching, Love, are you sure this would go without hitch?"

Leo smiled and replied, "Yes, things will be fine."

Snow sighed and turned her head to look at the sea of clouds outside the window. Lily smiled and replied, "I have no idea what to say, Ma, why do you keep worrying about things like this? The engineers have performed all the tests and they have been monitoring the situation around the clock. Yesterday night there was a storm, but the structure is still standing. Calm down. You will get wrinkles."

Snow glared at Lily, who replied, "Imagine you being younger than the Duchess but then end up looking older than her."

This remark caused Snow to calm down, and then she heard the captain state that they were about to land.

Leo and the family came out of the airplane and the young man carried the twins in his arms. The family then walked up to the helipad on the side and boarded the chopper. The communicator rang and Ellyse said, "Sir, the Royal Family shall be arriving at the airport in ten minutes."

Leo thought and said, "They have their own chopper to travel, right?"

Ellyse replied, "Yes, Sir. You all can regroup directly here at 'The Bouy'"

Leo nodded and replied, "That suits me fine."

Then he looked at the pilot and asked, "How long?"

The person replied, "Just waiting on the ATC sir."

Leo nodded with a deep breath, and looked at the twins who were busy distracting their mother from worrying about how the event was going to unfold. He turned to look at Lily who was busy tapping on her tablet. The young man could not help but ask, "What are you doing?"

Lily replied, "Many people have been waiting for me to show them the live broadcast of the event. I am just telling them no."

Leo asked, "Why not?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Lily replied calmly, "The structure of the Elevator is not something that should not be broadcasted to the world outside. While the structure is strong enough to handle the natural waves washing over it, the human element of sabotaging things should not be underestimated."

Leo nodded, and said, "While I agree to that, but you can use the communicator and it would hide the sensitive information from being channelled completely. The tech we developed is not very simple."

Lily looked at him and sighed, "Fine, I have to be accountable to all my fans."

Snow rolled her eyes and replied, "Awww, someone is a celebrity now."

The young man chuckled and the family bantered with each other, after a few minutes, they landed on the floating island and Leo said, "Lily, wait till we get on to start the stream."

His voice was so soft that only the two of them could hear it. Lily realized what Leo meant and she gave him a nod. They got off the chopper, and Leo helped Snow down, then Anastasia passed the twins to them, before Leo helped her out. Then Leo picked up Lily in his arms and the little girl pecked on his cheek as she said, "Thank you Baba."

Leo smiled and pecked her back as he replied, "My pleasure, Darling."

As they walked away from the helipad, Percie appeared before them and the lady was dressed in a proper official attire today. She said, "Everyone has arrived. The investors from the Sigil Families have come as well, and the Royal Family is enroute."

Leo nodded and then he sighed before he replied, "This stupid social interaction again, tch what a waste of time."

Percie smiled and Snow said, "You can handle the kids, I will handle those people on my own."

Leo nodded before he smiled at her and said, "I love you so much. You are the best wife."

The two people bantered around while the young man took over the twins and began to show them around with Lily following him. There were many people who had come to attend the event, and they were looking at Leo with shock. They all have seen Leo in the past, and he had always given off a cold aura, but looking at him now, how he was so warm to his children and family. They were surprised, never in their dreams they would have thought about something like this. After taking a few minutes to calm down and regain their composure, and tried to walk over to him and hold a conversation but just as they wanted to move over, they froze because many security guards were looking at them with cold gazes.

Snow had given out the command, none of the people are supposed to approach Leo because if they tried to be fake with him. The young man would explode and it would create an unnecessary scene, spoiling the ambience.

The royal family arrived and everyone stepped forward to greet them with bows and placations. However, it was Lily who stepped up and greeted the Duchess and the Duke with a bow before she took a deep breath and Princess Amare pulled her up, and asked, "Lily, you look so pretty."

Lily smiled and replied, "Your Highness, you look very beautiful as well."

The two girls talked about a lot of things that have been going on in their lives, because they were in the same school and the topic was getting very similar to them and given with how mature the two of them were, the conversation was flowing very smoothly.

After the meet and greet came to an end, Percie took the podium and the media cameras turned to focus on her, and she said, "Today, all of us have gathered to witness a step that would propel the human race towards a new frontier. A frontier where we won't have to fight with our own people, or kin, but face the unknown. The space elevator, a doorstep that we have finally managed to create with the combined effort of all the people."

She paused and then continued, "Today, we have the blessing of being joined by the Sovereign of the nation, His Majesty, King Aurelius. Now, I would like to humbly invite His Majesty to take the stage a say a few auspicious words before we start up the elevator for the first time."

The King took the stage and when the old man stopped speaking, Leo had put the twins to sleep. Snow nudged his elbow slowly and whispered, "It's time to go, wake up."

Leo sighed and opened his eyes under the sunglasses. He took a deep breath and replied, "They speak too much."

Snow smiled and the media caught this interaction; they clicked the pictures and then as Percie led them to the entrance of the Space Elevator. The place looked like a metro entrance channel. The people went through a proper security check and then they passed through a sterilization room where inert gases were sprayed on them. They were surprised, and the media people were clicking a lot of pictures.

Then they all came to stand on a wide-open room. Percie said, "Chronos, please start the ascension sequence."

The robot was standing on the side, and then punched in a few buttons on the side panel. The people sensed a gentle tremble on the platform before it all went silent. Then Percie replied, "Ladies and Gentlemen, Your Majesty, please look to the sides and you would see that we are ascending."

The people looked to the side, and they were surprised, the speed at which the floating platform was turning smaller, it was crazy and scary to them. However, even when they were witnessing everything before them calmly, they could not find out the words to explain the situation.

Percie said, "At the moment, we are climbing at a speed of eight hundred kilometres per hour, and you might be feeling a little pressure on your bodies, but don't worry, that is just normal. The base of this elevating platform we have a magnetic plate that counters the gravitational force. The journey to the peak of the atmosphere would take a few hours, so how about you all sit down and enjoy the food being served."

The people were surprised and they all waited for a few hours, discussing politics, business, and development while the elevator climbed to the peak. When the elevator stopped, Percie pointed at the screen on the center, where a console was standing, and she said, "We have reached the peak of atmosphere, a thousand and five kilometers above the sea level. Do you all feel a little light on your feet?"
