Alpha

Alive, she was alive. A wave of emotion and relief washed over me. Picking up the knife from the ground, I began to cut the ropes binding her severely swollen wrists. My hands were shaking so badly that I couldn’t even cut the ropes.

"Let me," Hades said sympathetically behind me, but I shook my head.

"Tie him up and put him in the car." "Find his phone and bring it to me," I ordered, freeing Zara’s right hand.

Burns and wounds, even his hands weren’t unscathed. I had to close my eyes for a second to calm my heart.

But all around me was blood, wounds, and a mutilated body. The wings of my mate had been clipped, and now it was my duty to revive her.

Hades and the others dragged Marcus away. His phone was in his pocket, which was basically all the evidence we needed, along with other electronics that I was sure the police would find.

My entire attention was focused on the woman tied to the chair. Cutting all the ropes, I scooped her lifeless body into my arms before she could fall.

"I’m here, Zara."

I carefully hugged her cold body. Although she was wearing a warm shirt and pants, they were damp underneath. She was still freezing from being in that position for so long.

I wanted to look at her, but I couldn’t. There were numerous bruises on her face and body.

Fragile, she weighed almost nothing in my arms. Dark circles hid her eyes, and I wondered if that bastard had given her anything to eat besides torture.

Trembling, I touched my lips to her forehead and kissed her deeply, pouring all my emotions into that kiss.

"Come back to me, Zara... I’m so, so sorry." My heart trembled with every step as I carried her up the stairs, pressing her face to mine. The whirlwind of emotions I was holding back demanded strength from me.

My men scattered in all directions, searching his house and leaving evidence for the police.

Running outside, I saw Marcus’s mother screaming at my men; they had tied her up and laid her on the sofa, abandoning her to her fate.

My furious eyes met hers, and she immediately fell silent, fear etched on her face.

"Let’s get going," I ordered, knowing the place would soon be swarming with police.

One of our cars had already left, with Marcus and Cassidy inside. I wanted them somewhere safe where I could deal with them later.

Kaysir burst in, carrying a blanket. Concern flashed across his face.

"Luna...?" He couldn’t finish the sentence.

"Yes... We need to take her to the hospital." I let him wrap her in the blanket while she remained unconscious.

It was snowing outside, and I wanted her to be warm. The blood had congealed on her face, and she had countless wounds.

External and internal.

I ran out of the bungalow to reach the other car. Hades and Kaysir were hot on my heels.

Suddenly, someone blocked my path. My gaze fell on his face; it was the big man who had accompanied Zyair Kincaid.

His expression was a mixture of hostility and calm, a look that could only have come from a bodyguard. Zyair Kincaid followed me with an elegant gait, his eyes blazing with anger and fury.

"Give me my daughter." He stepped forward and tried to snatch her from my arms. But Hades and Kaysir drew their pistols.

Zyair’s bodyguard did the same. We stood face to face, pistols raised, adrenaline pumping, and misunderstanding reigned between us.

But now was not the time for a fight. I needed to get Zara to the hospital.

"She needs medical attention, so I’m taking her to the hospital," I said hastily.

"I’ll take her. From now on, the likes of you won’t even be allowed to see her shadow." Zyair’s hands settled on Zara, and I felt all the love he held for his daughter, softening his features as his gaze slid over hers.

I could easily defeat him; I had more men, and I absolutely didn’t want to let Zara go. But I knew that would kill any chance of his heart softening toward me.

"Be careful. That tone is unacceptable," Hades hissed behind me, but I shook my head.

"Step back, lower your weapon." I let her father take her from my arms. It was as if my heart had been ripped from my chest, leaving it empty and devastated.

But now she was more important to me than anything else. "I’m letting you take her, but that doesn’t mean I won’t come for her."

Zyair chuckled, stepping back. "You’ll soon rot in prison."

I held back my men, allowing them to retreat with Zara. She needed a hospital. I’ll deal with her later. We watched them leave with my mate.

"Have one of my men follow them. I need to know which hospital they’re taking her to," I whispered to Hades, and he nodded.

My nails dug into my palms in fury, like crescents, but there was no other choice.

Silently, I returned inside, where Karen was being held. Hades and Kaysir remained behind me.

"Did we find Zara and Cassidy’s phones?" I asked.

"Yes," Hades replied, and their phones were brought to me.

"Leave Cassidy’s phone with Marcus as evidence for the police. I’m sure they’ll have a hard time seeing their correspondence."

Hades nodded and left, and I pocketed Zara’s phone and said to Kaysir, "I want you to start recording when she confesses and send it to the police from a burner phone. Let them come and find their evidence."

"Yes, Alpha," he nodded quickly.

Karen decided to remain silent, but she looked at me with hostility as I stood before her, arms crossed. My face showed nothing but disgust. "So you used not only me for your revenge plan, but also your son. Made him...Your whole life is a mission to satisfy this poisonous desire inside you."

She lifted her long false eyelashes and demanded, breaking free of Ropes: "Where is my son?"

"Somewhere I’ll break every bone in his body, pour acid on him, and watch him burn," I said calmly, without emotion or remorse.
