Alphas of Orion and their Unbroken Mate
Chapter 286: The Biting Words Of Bellatrix
(Amaia)
Her delicate lips spread and she offers us a warm smile. Raising her hand she wriggles her little fingers towards us.
"Hi!"
Alnitak tenses and doesn’t answer but I do. "Hey!"
Her smile remains intact but her eyes sparkle seeing Alnitak, not in a provocative lustful manner but with a hint of curiosity.
Mintaka comes to stand on the other side of me and she regards him as well, almost feeling mesmerised by my mates.
"The two of you look exactly the same and yet there is a difference in your smiles. In the way you look at her and carry yourselves. You are very different and intriguing just like my older siblings. They are twins too," she excitedly states her facts.
Surprisingly, she is not wrong. She is observant and her observation regarding my mates is true.
"We know your murderous siblings. Don’t compare them to us. We are nothing alike," Alnitak says with a hateful grunt but her smile doesn’t falter. It seems like it’s permanently etched onto her face. The very thought is frightening for me.
"And yet all of us are named after the Constellation of Orion. Isn’t that something?" She asks with the joy of a child. She even looks and talks like one.
I have noticed it too. The three children of Natianu are also named after Orion.
"Your father seems obsessed with us. Copying our parents while naming his children. Whatever happened to originality?" Mintaka lazily asks, slipping his hand into mine and curling his fingers. He gives it a gentle squeeze. Meissa’s curious but intelligent eyes follow his actions.
She only smiles and bites her lower lip as if wanting to say more but refrains herself.
"She is your mate?" She asks instead but they don’t answer her.
"I am," I say without fear and she appreciatively gives me a nod.
"I will meet you tomorrow. The seasons will be nice." With that, she turns around and elegantly retreats towards her other companions who are watching us like we are aliens. They are very different from how she made eye contact, they are purely hostile.
"That was a weird conversation." Alnitak turns away with us. "Whatever did she mean by seasons?"
"Yeah! No clue. She is so fake. Acting all cute and nice when we have nothing in common with these genocidal maniacs," Mintaka hatefully states.
The door of the dining hall opens and someone enters. Twins eye them and Alnitak instantly says, "Fuck!"
It’s a male and a female. The male possesses midnight black hair and has the same shaded eyes as Alnilam. The female has rich mahogany shaded hair and icy blue eyes. They wear their Reaver uniforms and carry mischievous smiles.
"The B-Twins," Mintaka says under his breath for me and I nod with a heavy heart. Betelgeuse is the one who killed Jamina.
They are heading straight to where Alnilam is standing with some other enforcers.
A sharp pang of hatred and revulsion washes down the bond and I know it’s from Alnilam.
"We must get to your brother," I whisper but Alnitak shakes his head.
"No, any interference will make it worse. Alnilam can handle them."
I can only imagine what Alnilam must be going through, knowing what they did, but I do feel it in my heart.
In front of our very eyes, they whisper something to Alnilam. He remains calm as if it were a non-windy day. He utters something back and the evil smiles on their faces falter. They continue for a while before both of them turn and their curious gazes find us.
Bellatrix’s smile widens spotting me and she takes unhurried steps to approach.
"Here comes the she-devil," Mintaka utters under his breath and Alnitak tightens his hold on my arm.
She is beautiful in a bizarre, dark way. Totally different from her younger sister who carries this feminine touch, Bellatrix has this dark, evil beauty about her.
"Aww, look at both of you. All grown up and even have a mate of your own," she teases, halting in front of us.
Her cunning gaze gradually sweeps from them and comes to rest on me. "A cute little thing with multiple mates."
Plastering a smile on my face, I stare back at her.
"Ignore her," Alnilam’s voice filters in my brain through the mindlink.
"Seems like you don’t even have one. Do I feel jealousy?" I answer with a feigned smile of my own.
She shakes her head at me. Her gorgeous red locks slither on her uniformed shoulders.
"On the contrary, you have what I have already used and discarded."
Confusion hits me at her words. My eyes narrow at her.
"Stop trying to act relevant. We are not interested in hearing your nonsense," Alnitak cuts in, sending her a seething glare.
She only maliciously laughs.
I see Alnilam taking long strides to head over to us. Before he can reach, she venomously whispers.
"I know Saiph is mated to you. No wonder he runs away with his tail between his legs every time he sees me now. Otherwise, he would always be dick deep inside me, pleasuring me..."
Her world tilts my world and before I can lunge at her, Alnitak grabs me, Mintaka steps in front of me and Alnilam pushes Bellatrix away from us.
The volatile desire to lunge at her and destroy her smirking face has hijacked my brain. It’s only my mates who are keeping me from punching her stupid face and breaking some of her perfect teeth.
Her laughter sounds again as she says before drifting away. "Give my love to Saiph, tell him I miss his big cock."
How does she know? And how dare she talk about my mate like that?
So much rage and hatred descend on me, pushing me towards madness.
"She is just trying to get inside your head. Don’t dwell on this. Don’t think about it." Alnilam’s soothing words come but the damage has already been done.
My peace which is already hanging by a fragile thread has been shattered with her words.
Has she been his lover? Is it true what she has said?
My face must have turned red from the rage. My hands fist and nails dig deep into my skin.
"Amaia, breathe. Don’t overthink. Ignore their mind games." Alnitak takes my face in his and gently presses.
Slowly I nod but I hate this. She has sown the seed of doubt in my heart.
I know that Saiph has had lovers before me, he himself told me so but having sex with someone like her is not what I had expected from Saiph.
"I want to go back to my room," I plead with Alnitak and he nods.
"Let’s."
