Amber Sword
Chapter 1000 - 223: Twilight or Dawn (Part 3)
The gaze of the One-eyed General fell upon the cave dweller army clad in thick battle armor. ๐ฏ๐ง๐ฎ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ต.๐ฌ๐ธ๐
"Cave Dwellers Charge Team," he said, setting down the iron gloves and turning back. "This is the trump card of those humans. Let's go, I want a Madara-style victoryโfor the Emperor!"
The Black Knights drew their gleaming scimitars and responded in low voices: "By the Will of the Mercury Wand."
But just at this moment, another horn sounded from the forest.
A long, lingering sound between the trees.
Tagus stopped.
He seemed to be listening intently.
"It's an attack horn."
They actually dare to attack? Pallas suddenly found himself silenced, as did all the Jandener soldiers who were cheering, because beyond the melting forest, they saw something that shouldn't have been there.
"Attention all troops! An unfamiliar army has appeared on the left flank!"
"The other side doesn't respond to semaphore; it might be the enemy!"
The orderly's shouting echoed one after another.
...
When Brand parted the overlapping tree branches in front of him, he saw such a scene. A row of elf archers riding flying horses appeared on both sides of him. He turned back and glanced at Queniel:
"Where do you guess their Great Chief is located?"
"You humans probably call them generals. I think he's on that hilltop."
"I said that to fit in," Brand said, surprised as he looked at the Tree Elf Leader.
"We don't have a term like Great Chief either. You're talking about the beastmen..." Queniel couldn't help but bared his teeth.
"Close enough," Brand shrugged, looking at the forest that stretched out in front of him and the Griss River that was almost dyed red within it. "But I don't think Pallas is foolish enough to expose himself so obviously. That might be the position of one of his Knight Lords, uh..."
He thought for a moment: "But it should be enough as a surprise."
Brand turned his head again: "Scout, have you cleaned up the enemy's sentries?"
"It's been cleaned up," a centaur immediately replied. "But my Lord..."
"But?"
"Discovered a hunter's lodge..."
"Hunter's lodge?"
...
(PS: The cold hasn't gotten better, I had several nosebleeds yesterday, tragic. Speaking of which, it's another two updates, classmates, continue voting and keep up the support for two more updates tomorrow ~
Also, here are a few questions answered: Some classmates in the review section mentioned problems with background and setting being difficult to understand. How should I say this, as a self-created world, there are surely many aspects about human culture and the world's background. If I write a setting compilation, it would probably be hundreds of thousands of words; first, you might not have the leisure to read it all, and second, I couldn't bear it either. Instead, I prefer to lay it out bit by bit. If you find it hard to understand some settings, you can choose to skip them for now and treat them as background. I will detail and repeatedly mention the truly important settings, and even if you don't understand them once, you'll get it eventually after more exposure.
Second, the sword in Frey's hand is not the real Amber Sword, it's merely named so. Nemesia hopes to use the sword's meaning to counteract Erune's fading destiny. Also, someone asked on yesterday's forum if Nemesia is a transmigrant. I didn't answer on the forum because I thought many would want to know the answer to this question, and I won't say much since it concerns the plot, but I can definitely tell you she didn't come across through transmigration.)
