Amber Sword
Chapter 973 - 212: Preparing for Battle (1)
"Hmm?" As Brand walked out of the wind wall outside the Trade Wind Ring, where the fierce, perennial winds raged, his body paused slightly. "What's wrong?" Veronica asked, turning her head.
"Nothing." Brand shook his head. The moment he stepped out of the wind wall, he sensed a connection with his summon. Medisha and Char immediately reported what was happening back in the territory. In less than a day, there was movement from the Pallas direction. During this season, Erune's Frost hadn't fully subsided, and Count Rangdenier had acted sooner than Brand had expected.
In the mind connection, he had Medisha praise Little Roman a few times, but didn't show much surprise at the news. The Lengshan Domain had been preparing for this war for several months, waiting for this day. Besides, with the groundwork he had laid before, it would be unbelievable if they couldn't hold out for the first few weeks of the war. He also gave Char a few instructions, asking this young mage attendant to continue urging the druids within the territory to reinforce the defenses along the Griss River, and to report the progress of the battle to him once it started.
Brand suddenly realized that the mind connection ability of the Travel Mage was truly exceptional, allowing him to command the battlefield remotely. Although some magic items could achieve similar effects, during a low-intensity war at the edge of Erune, neither side could afford such a cost.
But then he immediately sensed a weak mind call that shouldn't have existed—"Medphis?" Brand gazed in disbelief at the figure before him, covered in blood, the black dress tattered, even exposing bare shoulders—a 'such a cute must be a boy' 'girl.' Medphis lay amidst a pile of rubble, seemingly unconscious, as if she had crawled up from the bottom of the canyon, probably thinking Brand was still above. But after climbing all the way here, she was exhausted and out of consciousness.
Yet at that moment, as if she felt Brand's summons—perhaps due to the special connection between a summon and a Travel Mage—the next moment, Medphis suddenly blinked and awoke.
The 'girl's' serene face showed a dreamy expression. Although the pale face was covered in blood, it instantly radiated an aura: "Master, you've finally found me. I've been looking for you for so long."
Brand finally understood that after Medphis was struck into the deep valley by Andesa, she didn't enter the graveyard. At that time, the two sides had both entered the mist below, losing touch with each other. In hindsight, it wasn't surprising. Medphis, after numerous enhancements, had power close to Veronica's, so it was improbable she would perish so easily. Later, it must have been due to the card's daily reset stage that her strength recovered, causing her to faint halfway through climbing. Seeing the cross-dressing vampire still around, Brand couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. Medphis already had Gold Level combat power, and could sacrifice to achieve an Element level and beyond, providing him an invaluable asset.
However, at present, Brand couldn't merely view his summon as a card. Seeing the 'girl's' condition, he couldn't help but feel guilty and asked, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Medphis shook her head, somewhat blushing and shyly said, "Just a bit hungry, Master."
So amidst Qian's flushed cheeks and Faina's strange glance, two sweet bite marks appeared on Brand's neck. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"Wait, you promised not to bite my neck—!" Regardless of how much someone looked like a woman, being bitten on the neck by a man was something Brand could hardly accept. But he didn't expect Medphis to be that fast. Even he couldn't react; vampires of the bloodline were known for their speed. Even Andesa, with two levels of higher strength, was approached, let alone Brand, who was at Gold Middle Upper Level.
Yet Mephisto revealed two cute little fangs, smiling shyly and replied, "Because Mephisto was seriously injured, the master's blood is necessary for the arteries, plus, the master's blood is very delicious..."
In response to such an answer, Brand could only look skyward helplessly. After all, it was indeed due to him that Medphis had been severely injured. Hence, he could only sternly instruct this cross-dressing vampire never to approach his neck again without permission.
