Chapter 202: Chapter 128: Month’s End, the Giants’ Official Announcement

Tiffany Rockefeller and Jessica were sitting there.

They had clearly dressed up for the night, wearing tube dresses made of very little fabric and heavy, smoky eye makeup. A few bottles of champagne sat on the table before them as they partied hard with several handsome men who looked like male models or obscure internet celebrities.

"Hey, wait a second," Jessica said, sounding a little unsure. "Isn’t that Li Wei?"

"Who’s Li Wei?" Tiffany was already a bit tipsy. "Why does that name sound familiar?"

"Anya’s boyfriend. The high school Quarterback who went viral online," Jessica said. "You don’t remember?"

"Oh, right, I remember now." Tiffany looked at Li Wei’s profile and suddenly asked, "What do you think that bitch Anya would think if I slept with him?"

"Are you crazy?!" Jessica exclaimed, startled. "Have you forgotten she once broke Alex’s ribs?"

"I don’t care," Tiffany giggled, wrapping an arm around a male model and heading over. "I’m going to get some pictures with him."

However, before she could even squeeze her way to Li Wei’s side, she drew complaints from the other models. "First come, first served! You’ve already got one with you, little girl."

But some of the models, who were regulars at the club, had seen Tiffany around several times. It wasn’t long before her identity was recognized.

Everyone knew what her last name meant in the United States of America. Seeing they couldn’t get anything from Li Wei, they flocked over to Tiffany’s booth to cozy up to her, hoping to build up their socialite or internet celebrity personas.

’Look, I’m partying in a VIP booth at 1 OAK with the young ladies of the Rockefeller Family!’

Under the influence of Ecstasy and alcohol, Tiffany quickly became dazed. All thoughts of Yale University and Ms. Wood’s warnings were completely thrown to the wind. She soon started playing games with Jessica and the other male models and female influencers, letting loose wantonly as more than a dozen phone cameras recorded everything...

「Three days later, at the Horace Mann School.」

In the hallway, Anya had just finished an easy mock exam in art history. She wore a tailored Chanel jacket and held a drink made from blended vegetables and grains, ready to go touch up her makeup.

She was in an excellent mood. With another exam out of the way, she was one step closer to graduation, and her trip with Li Wei to Utah, Las Vegas, and California could finally be put on the schedule.

Just then, the sound of frantic and chaotic high heels shattered the tranquility of the hallway.

Anya turned to the side and watched as Tiffany and Jessica, looking like two turkeys spooked by a shotgun, charged madly into Ms. Wood’s office. Their hair was a mess, their makeup was garish, and even their backpack straps were dragging on the floor.

A few minutes later, Ms. Wood’s rare roar of anger echoed from the office, followed by intermittent crying and shouting.

Then, the door was thrown open, and the two girls ran out, sobbing into their hands as they made a beeline for the restroom at the end of the hall.

Anya raised an eyebrow but didn’t follow them in immediately. She stood her ground, thoughtfully watching the door that had just swung shut as a mischievous smile played on her lips.

’How strange,’ she murmured to herself. ’Didn’t Tiffany write in her application that she’s "genderfluid non-binary"? And didn’t Jessica claim to be a "transgender man"? At a critical moment like this, why did they still instinctively run into the women’s restroom?’

She took an unhurried sip of her drink, her brow furrowing slightly as she pursed her lips.

She’d been eating too much ice cream with Li Wei lately and her workouts had decreased. Now, she had to do an hour of Pilates and yoga every morning, followed by two of these drinks to maintain her figure.

With graceful steps, she pushed open the door to the women’s restroom.

The sound of a suppressed argument came from the innermost stall.

"This is all your fault, Jessica! If you hadn’t stopped me, I wouldn’t have gone to that damn booth to chase clout off Li Wei, and I wouldn’t have been filmed!" Tiffany’s voice was sharp and piercing, thick with tears and a nasal tone.

"Keep your voice down!"

"Fuck! To hell with keeping it down! Our admissions have been rescinded!"

"My fault? Who was the one so high on Ecstasy that you were still making out with that male model while those damn bitches had their phones shoved in your face?" Jessica shot back, not to be outdone. "And look what happened! Columbia University sent me a rejection letter too! Ms. Wood said we’ve been blacklisted by the Ivy League!"

"My dad’s going to kill me... My trust fund... WAHHHH..."

Anya stood before the mirror over the sink and turned on the faucet. The sound of running water couldn’t quite cover her soft chuckle.

Hearing the laughter, the stall door was thrown open with a BANG.

Tiffany and Jessica stormed out. The expensive mascara on their faces had run, giving them panda eyes and making them look utterly miserable.

They were both surprised to see Anya there, but when they caught sight of her radiant, smiling face in the mirror over the sink, the shame of having schemed behind her back instantly transformed into towering rage.

"What are you laughing at?" Tiffany shrieked. "You knew all along, didn’t you? You let your boyfriend go to the club that night. You set us up on purpose!"

"Set you up?" Anya washed her hands unhurriedly, watching the two miserable women in the mirror before turning to lean against the sink. "My dear Tiffany, I never once thought of setting you up. Seeing you like this, I truly feel sorry for you."

As she said this, her eyes crinkled into a smile.

"You damn Russian bitch!"

Her sore spot having been poked, Tiffany completely lost her mind. New and old grudges surged within her—Anya had stolen all the limelight, had the perfect boyfriend, and was now the sole winner heading to Yale, while she was left with a ruined reputation, her disgraceful behavior filmed and posted online for all to see.

She screamed and lunged at Anya, her red-polished fingernails reaching to scratch at Anya’s delicate face, even wanting to pull her hair.

"I’m going to rip your face off! Let’s see you keep that punchable expression then!"

Anya didn’t even flinch.

She just calmly turned to the side and reached into her open Chanel bag, as if to grab something.

As she moved, the inner compartment of the bag was stretched open.

Between the expensive cosmetics and silk handkerchiefs, the cold, dark glint of metal was particularly glaring under the restroom’s pale fluorescent lights.

It was the grip of a Glock 19 pistol.

Tiffany’s forward charge stopped as if someone had hit a pause button. Her hand froze in mid-air, just inches from Anya’s face, but she didn’t dare move another fraction.

At the same time, Jessica let out a short gasp, her face instantly turning deathly pale.

"What do you want?" Anya’s hand remained in her bag. She tilted her head, her blue-gray eyes devoid of any emotion, as if she were looking at a buzzing fly. "Go on, Tiffany. You want to rip my face off? Come and try."

The air froze for three seconds.

"You’re insane... you’re a lunatic!"

Tiffany trembled, the rage in her eyes instantly replaced by immense fear. She staggered back two steps, nearly tripping over her own heels, then grabbed the equally petrified Jessica and scrambled out of the restroom.

As the sound of their frantic footsteps faded, the restroom fell silent once more.

Anya never took the gun out.

Humming a little tune, she rummaged around in her bag, pulled out a makeup pouch, and took out a Dior lipstick.

She turned back to the mirror and carefully touched up her already perfect lip color.

Anya gave her reflection a sweet smile, then took out her phone and called Li Wei, her voice sweet and delicate.

"Hello? Darling... where are you? I just ran into Tiffany in the restroom. They were crying like crazy, it scared me to death... My exam’s over. Can we go get some ice cream, please?"

「Just like that, March slipped by quietly, and soon it was the end of the month.」

During this time, Li Wei had accidentally triggered two more missions, gaining 0.2 free attribute points, which he allocated entirely to Spirit.

His Spirit stat was now at 2.3. He only needed another 0.7 free attribute points to reach 3.0 and complete the final evolution of Knight: Silver Body (Extraordinary).

’Hopefully, that’ll solve my appetite problem,’ he thought, downing the protein shake in his cup. ’Otherwise, I’m afraid half the Cadillac will have to be filled with chocolate bars.’

One day, he suddenly received a call from John Mara, the owner of the Giants. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

The official announcement was coming soon, and he was told to get ready.
