Xander stood alone.

The battlefield was quiet now, but it was not peace that filled the air. It was tension. The kind that lingered after power had been used and the world was still trying to understand what had happened.

Wind moved slowly across the broken land, tugging at the long strands of his silvery-white hair.

"Xander Asmodeus Kael’Dri..."

The name echoed softly in the distance, spoken by one of his team members behind him.

Names carried weight. For the Sins, they carried far more.

Each of them had awakened a true name when their power reached its proper form. Not titles given by kingdoms, not names written by historians, but names tied directly to the ancient forces they embodied.

Elaine had awakened as Belphegor, the Sin of Sloth.

Sixtie bore the name Lucifer, the Sin of Pride.

Regnare carried the name Satan, the Sin of Wrath.

And Xander...

Xander was Asmodeus.

In ancient stories whispered across civilizations, Asmodeus had been known as the sovereign of desire. Not merely the indulgence of pleasure, but the deeper, more dangerous hunger that lived inside every thinking being.

Lust.

Not the shallow craving of the body, but the pull of irresistible longing.

The kind that made warriors abandon reason.

The kind that made rulers destroy kingdoms for one fleeting dream.

The kind that bent loyalty, love, envy, obsession, and devotion into a single burning force.

Asmodeus was said to understand desire better than anyone, because he was born from it.

A demon king in forgotten myths. A manipulator of hearts. A being who could turn admiration into obsession and affection into ruin.

But myths were always exaggerations.

Xander stretched his fingers slowly, watching faint purplish-pink energy coil around them like invisible threads.

"Lust..." he murmured quietly.

To most people, the word sounded weak. Indulgent. Shameful.

They misunderstood it. Lust was the engine of wanting, the force that made people chase power.

Fight for love, conquer worlds, and defy fate itself.

Without desire, nothing moved.

Without longing, nothing grew.

Xander’s lips curved slightly. Behind him, the air distorted as power stirred, responding instinctively to his presence. Because the Sin of Lust did not simply represent passion... He commanded it.

Emotions bent toward him without permission, devotion formed where none should exist, and cravings sharpened in his presence like blades. The battlefield had gone silent because the creatures that had sensed him earlier were already retreating.

Even monsters understood instinct. And instinct told them one thing.

Something dangerous had awakened.

Xander rolled his shoulders lazily and began walking forward across the ruined ground.

The faint glow in his eyes deepened.

"Let’s see," he said softly to himself, voice calm and almost amused.

"How dangerous this name really is."

...

The wind stopped. Xander had barely taken a dozen steps when the world around him began to feel... wrong.

The ground pulsed faintly beneath his boots, as though something enormous had shifted beneath the crust of reality itself. A low vibration crawled through the air, too deep to be sound, yet heavy enough to make the bones inside one’s body tremble.

Behind him, the ten members of his expedition team stiffened.

One of them whispered hoarsely, "What... is that feeling...?"

Then the darkness ahead of them moved, not like a creature stepping forward, but more like a wound opening.

The void mist split apart slowly, and something began to emerge from within it. At first, the mind struggled to interpret what it was seeing. It had no stable shape, no proper anatomy.

The thing that crawled into view seemed to be an enormous mass of slick, oily flesh stretching nearly thirty feet across, but parts of it phased in and out of reality as if existence itself couldn’t agree on its dimensions. Long tendrils dragged across the ground like dying serpents, each one covered in rotating eyes that blinked in different directions.

At the center of the mass floated something like a skull. But it wasn’t bone. It was a translucent sphere filled with writhing shadows and screaming mouths. And above that sphere hovered a ring of fractured limbs that bent in impossible angles, like broken wings trying to remember how to fly.

The moment the creature fully manifested, half the team collapsed. Their bodies hit the ground instantly, trembling violently as their nervous systems simply shut down under the pressure of what they had just seen.

The remaining five staggered backward, clutching their heads.

"W-What is that—?!"

"I can’t... I can’t look at it!"

Their instincts screamed at them to run. To look away. To forget. Because the thing in front of them was not just a monster. It was something that the mind itself refused to process.

A horror. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Something born from a place where the laws of creation had simply stopped trying.

Xander stopped walking.

For a brief moment, he stared at the abomination in silence. The creature noticed him. All of its eyes snapped toward him at once. The pressure in the air multiplied instantly.

Behind him, another member of the team dropped to his knees, shaking violently.

"Prince... I can’t... breathe..."

Xander exhaled slowly. Then he raised one hand. The air around his team cracked like glass. A deep purple-black energy surged outward from his body and formed a smooth dome around the ten soldiers.

Destruction. His element answered instantly, as a shield.

The energy barrier hummed as it wrapped around them, isolating them from the mind-breaking aura radiating from the void horror.

The trembling stopped.

The collapsed soldiers began to breathe again.

Xander didn’t even turn to look at them.

"Stay inside the barrier," he said calmly.

The void beast screeched.

The sound wasn’t audible.

It tore directly through the fabric of the world like a psychic blade.

Xander’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Slowly... very slowly... his horns began to change.

The curved purple horns on his head glowed brightly before dissolving into pure energy. They elongated slightly, becoming sleek arcs of radiant demonic light that floated just above his temples.

At the same time, his eyes shifted. The dull pink vanished. In its place appeared a sharp, luminous pink glow that cut through the surrounding darkness like a blade.

Power rolled off him in quiet waves, not explosive, but controlled, and focused. The void beast lunged. Its tendrils exploded outward, ripping through the air like living spears. The ground shattered as several of them slammed down toward Xander at once.

He didn’t move.

For a fraction of a second, he simply watched them. Then he stepped forward.

And the battlefield erupted.
