Chapter 991: Retaliatory Attack
"What did you say?" Supervisor Delrick glared at his subordinate.
"We couldn't find them, sir. We've checked all the potential routes, but they're in none of them. There is also a chance that they're flying at a low altitude to avoid leaving any traces."
Supervisor Delrick gritted his teeth. This was the most reasonable scenario. Although Supervisor Delrick could think of a possibility that Clovis was not thinking about supplies, it was simply unbelievable.
When he saw the Libation Fiesta, there was no sign of heavy luggage. This meant they didn't bring any large supplies for prolonged travel.
Supervisor Delrick said, "Continue searching. Even if they can last for a few days without supplies, they will definitely need water. I don't think Clovis Hacfield is crazy enough to eat his beasts."
"Understood."
The elite teams had a hard time scouting the area around. This place was a high-level area with many Tier 8 beasts scattered around the area. If they had provoked them in any way, the investigation in that area would have encountered a dead end.
Because there was no base here, they didn't have any outposts, so beasts that were meant to enter the tower to resupply the number of beasts within the tower would come to attack them as well.
If they continued for a while, they would exhaust everything they had. People might start dying.
Supervisor Delrick never thought the hardest task ever since he took this job would be to find Clovis Hacfield.
"Goddamnit," Supervisor Delrick cursed while trying to figure out if they were still missing something.
…
In the meantime, Grend of the One Lion Group finally met Jeremy Skylark of the Sky Group.
Grend glared at Jeremy. "Do you think you can take over my company? You are wrong. I won't fall that easily."
"Well, who knows?" Jeremy chuckled.
Grend slammed his fist on the table while raising his voice. "You are merely taking advantage of your connection with the Hacfield family!"
"Whoa! Calm down for a second. We are the same, aren't we? There is a big war between the Prophet and the Hacfield family. Seeing this chance, you immediately come for my granddaughter. Dude, you are trying to bring my granddaughter to your bed? Her age is what? Half of yours? Do you have any shame?
"Besides, you are taking advantage of this opportunity and siding with the Prophet. I side with my in-laws, the Hacfield family. So, we are the same."
Grend gritted his teeth. "You use the Ghost!"
"Well, I didn't expect the Hacfield family to be related to the Ghost either. But well, the situation is… I pick the winning side this time. So, it sucks to be you, but don't be a sore loser." Jeremy shrugged.
Jeremy took every opportunity to stab Grend in the chest with his words. It was true that they were equal.
If the Prophet were the one winning, Grend could take over the OpenSky Company and even hit the Sky Group.
Unfortunately for him, the Prophet was defeated this time. The Prophet didn't expect that the Hacfield family still had one more trump card—the Ghost.
If they had known about this trump card beforehand, they might have been able to crush the Hacfield family.
Jeremy shrugged. "Well, we will see. Even if I can't take over your company, I can still dismantle your company. At that time, you have to start all over again. And I don't plan to let you off with just this."
"You…" Grend glared at him.
"You what?!" Jeremy was the one raising his voice this time. He pointed at Grend while looking at him in disgust. "Do you think I'm going to forgive you for trying to touch my granddaughter? No, I will never forgive you."
Jeremy didn't bother to wait for his response anymore as he just hung up the video call.
The One Lion Group was the biggest miscalculation of the Prophet. By shaking up the One Lion Group, Clovis could use it to smuggle the Libation Fiesta into Easton.
As a result, the battle on the main front had become chaotic.
Hana crossed her arms while staring at the multiple screens with Absalom's president.
General Sanders said, "The situation is not looking good. The enemy is pushing us in all directions." 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
The president replied, "There will not be any trouble with our economy. We will take some hits, but we can recover from them. However, we can't afford to have any of their elite teams enter our country."
"Yes, sir." General Sanders nodded. "We've been trading missiles. However, we are being surrounded right now, so we have to hold on somehow. The Hacfield family seems to be sabotaging Geraclus, and the Ghost is stopping Reastene. However, there are still three more countries joining this raid."
The president thought for a moment. "In that case, should I come out and rally our people? Just letting them know that we're okay and still brave enough to face them will improve our morale, right?"
"Yes, but you shouldn't do that. We will be working on a solution."
"…" Maya squinted her eyes before she received a message from an unexpected source. "Mr. President. I think it's time for our counterattack."
"What do you mean?" The president took a look at her screen. "Ah?"
General Sanders reported after seeing the situation on the big screen. "A missile hit Crugger! What? Who hit them? Hurry up and trace the trajectory."
"Yes, sir!"
The president grabbed Hana's Skyphone and showed it to General Sanders. "I don't think we need to do that, General Sanders."
"Sir?" General Sanders squinted his eyes.
The president smiled. "Curea has joined the party, so has Myhan."
Hana explained, "Clovis once mentioned that he managed to turn Curea into their ally, not just the Hashton family in Curea. Even their future Tier 9, Iskandar, owed him greatly. And Myhan was our ally in the assembly."
General Sanders finally figured out the entire scenario that had been laid out by the Hacfield family. "So, that's how it is."
The president stood up. "General Sanders. I want a retaliatory strike against our enemies. Don't stop until we're reaching the limit of a world war. I don't want to start World War II, but I don't plan to let our enemy off."
"Yes, sir!"
