Apocalypse: I Build A Doomsday Train
Chapter 1205 - 465: Hawaii Living Dead Island (Part 2)
They raised their rotten faces, squeezing out more concentrated, anxious roars from their throats. As the Sky Dome Train lowered further, the powerful thrust airflow pressed downward violently, creating a huge depression in the sea surface. The edge waves rolled and exploded into white foam, while fine sand on the beach was blown up, enveloping trash and rotten debris into patches of turbid sandstorms.
The zombie horde on the beach seemed to have been pushed by an invisible giant hand, their stiff bodies swayed unsteadily in the wind. Some, with already missing limbs, were directly blown to the ground. Golden sand was lifted by the surging airwaves and slammed hard against the zombies’ rotten flesh and building remnants, producing a chaotic crackling sound.
Whoosh!
A sharp psionic impact sounded, and these dense zombies looked up, seeing a black shadow standing suspended at the bow of the gigantic train. Ryuji lifted his hand, and a wave blade directly obliterated a swath of zombies along the beachfront into ruin. The Sky Dome Train then slowly lowered its altitude, stopping on the beach open space near the seaside street.
At the same time, countless drones, like a hive in motion, flew densely towards the island’s urban area, beginning a blanket search.
On the main bridge, Lin Xian and the others were gazing at the distant beach city, each with a sighed expression.
Qian Deli was the first to speak: "Arrived steadily and ahead of schedule, flying is indeed fast."
"But also dangerous," Ning Jing frowned, wiping a cold sweat from the recent escape: "If flying always faces such situations, it’s indeed not a good idea."
Luo Yang nodded in agreement: "Our track-bound train is still more reliable."
Lin Xian stepped forward, taking a breath: "If we’re not rushing, there’s truly no need to be so adventurous in flying."
Chen Sixuan then said: "The island has a track branch line leading to Panama Transport City, from where we can enter the Caribbean Sea to land. Then we can go straight through the heart of South America to Ushuaia along the Liberation track, then through the Storm Strait into the Polar area. This route avoids the largest 13th Star Abyss at sea and doesn’t fall within the pathways of North America 2nd, 10th, or Atlantic 11th Star Abyss, making it a relatively safe plan."
"Will it be so smooth?" Monica looked at Lin Xian.
Lin Xian smiled helplessly: "I don’t know, the European Storm Alliance, Dawn Center, and Noah are all moving towards the Storm Strait; we should catch up."
"Lin Xian," KIKI flew over at this moment and asked, "Should we meet our caravan in South America?"
Lin Xian nodded: "The train caravan will also take the Liberation track. With our speed, we should arrive ahead of time. Then for safety, lead the caravan to continue track movement and avoid ascending without special circumstances."
"Our Sky Dome Train is really amazing!" Sha Sha now said: "Capable of supersonic flight, managed to fly out of that storm, incredible, and spacious too!"
Just then, drones dispersed for reconnaissance transmitted information through nodes and summarized to Viola.
Viola, with hands behind, said to Lin Xian:
"Preliminary detection of a large number of zombies and some evolved uncanny humans. This city seems not to have experienced a large-scale invasion. Based on the zombies’ preliminary data comparison, they are tourists and city dwellers. No survivor caravan or armed personnel found yet."
"What do you mean?" Chen Sixuan frowned: "Are you suggesting that since the Apocalypse Day, no one has been here?"
"It seems so," KIKI took out a mobile terminal, tapping the keyboard: "Leaving this island only through transoceanic flights, ocean-going ferries, or that branch line track. The first two are impossible. If it hasn’t been landed by a sea group like the Holy City, it can only come from the Panama track line, but that should be difficult. No other survivors indicate that line is already inaccessible."
"So, this place hasn’t been ’searched’ by anyone yet?" Qian Deli put away his small fan, smiling: "That’s rare, no monsters, only these cute and friendly zombies, we can sleep well tonight."
"Captain Lin," at this moment, Shu Qin spoke: "Now it’s not dark yet, should we go out to search for some resources?"
"I indeed have this intention."
Lin Xian relaxed, looked at his watch: "According to the distance, we are at the cross intersection of 8th Star Abyss and 13th Star Abyss diffusion points, there might be a dual Dark Tide, but relatively far should not affect much, otherwise there should be more uncanny humans here. But to be safe, everyone must be withdrawn by 18:00."
"We still have Level 1 Marks that needed clearing before nightfall," Chen Sixuan added.
"Alright, this is the arrangement."
16:45, the crimson sun sank heavily westward, casting distinct shadow lines along the coastline. The Sky Dome Train’s hatch opened, Ning Jing stepped onto the decaying ground, followed by the shadow-like presence of Ah Bai and Xiao Qing, alongside several engineering drones responsible for resource transport and information relay: "Let’s move quickly, avoid making too much noise."
Meanwhile, two other teams also dispersed, with Qian Deli’s signature floral open shirt particularly conspicuous among the moving figures, while Luo Yang was operating four powerful mecha drones, repeatedly saying: "Finally on land, otherwise these guys couldn’t show their might!"
"Heh, using mecha to battle zombies seems a bit excessive." Lv Chang closely followed, smiling: "But helping to carry more things is great, we have distributed a portion of supplies to Hawk Sea Group, it might be insufficient to cross South America."
"Actually, no need to worry," Qian Deli shrugged: "Only about twenty of us, and when we meet the main force, are we afraid of lacking supplies?"
Shu Qin was more cautious, saying: "It’s better to stockpile more supplies; our Sky Dome Train is spacious, and in this apocalypse, no one despises excess food. Moreover, upon arriving in South America, the plan might not go smoothly, Dawn Center will have significant battles crossing North America."
Qian Deli, hearing this, nodded: "What you said reminds me of my dear Xiao Meng, ah, I miss her, having her around surely lets me worry much less."
On the other side, Monica got on the off-road vehicle opened by Da Lou; Sha Sha flew the Flying Peach at low altitude with Ryuji behind them. Upon learning about the city’s situation, Chen Sixuan brought Sun Yuzhen, Mo Xiaotian, and Little Yuanmiao Lou out to help. Sun Yuzhen has flying abilities, aiding greatly in search tasks, while Little Yuan and the others, having not ventured outside for long, were quite eager.
"Wow, so beautiful! I used to dream of traveling to Hawaii during school, didn’t expect it’d be under such circumstances." Miao Lou said excitedly from the car’s rear seat, gazing at the clear sea.
"Be careful, many zombies outside, we still have marks on us." Little Yuan cautioned.
Chen Sixuan sighed: "No worries, after suppressing ourselves for so long, we ought to relax a bit. Drones have already scouted the path; we just need to maintain some caution, and not suppress ourselves excessively."
"No problem, I’ll watch over you from the air," Sun Yuzhen prepared Mo Xiaotian, then signaled Chen Sixuan with an eye gesture, soaring into the sky.
Woooo~
As the teams departed, the Sky Dome Train slowly ascended again, under Lin Xian and Viola’s control, heading towards a branch track station in another direction of the city, preparing to stop overnight and use it as a gathering point.
Besides Lin Xian, two people hadn’t set out, Brother Huo and Ding Junyi.
Ding Junyi was currently immersed in her new research ideas, while Brother Huo leisurely arrived at the train’s Sky Bridge canopy with an umbrella and sunbed after the Sky Dome Train parked into the track station’s track, opened the umbrella, and began sunbathing, much to Lu Xingchen’s delight to this kind of task.
Clang~
At a large supermarket’s rear warehouse door in the city, Ryuji and Monica separately launched massive impacts on incoming zombies swarming the alley. Da Lou, in Black Dragon Battle Armor, tore open the warehouse door, accompanied by a foul odor rushing out, with Sha Sha immediately throwing in several small illuminating drones inside. As the lights illuminated the giant shelves several meters high, everyone walked in, carrying surprised and complex expressions.
Sha Sha let out a long breath, staring wide-eyed at the huge warehouse, murmuring:
"We’ve really struck it rich this time..."
