Apocalypse - Infinite Resource System
Chapter 135: Blueprint for Combat Robot
The hot air balloon slowly rose into the sky. The group looked down at the devastation caused by the massive meteorite, their minds filled with mixed emotions. Waldo also glanced at the ruins below, the remains of a place that had been their home for a short time, holding fond memories.
Controlling the hot air balloon, Waldo steered it towards City 25. They flew over the old town area and the central district.
They saw the massive meteorite lying still in the central square, the point of impact that used to be the base of the police station. Now, it was all ruins, and Waldo could only make an educated guess about the location.
Alanna gazed down at the ruins and murmured, "It’s truly a desolation, devoid of any signs of life, just emptiness and bleakness."
Helen sighed, "Indeed, so many lives lost, and not even ashes left behind. No one will ever know their names. This meteor shower truly made me feel the weight of the phrase ’apocalyptic world.’"
Chubby, on the other hand, shook its head and let out a howl. It didn’t understand the conversation, but looking at the ruins, it thought of its own forest, wondering if the mother tiger was still there.
Waldo didn’t want everyone to be so negative. He smiled and said, "After destruction comes rebirth. Look, there are already new sprouts growing amidst the ruins."
Following Waldo’s gesture, they saw numerous young shoots emerging from the crevices of the wreckage. Strangely, even under the heavy radiation, these plants seemed to thrive, growing at an astonishing speed.
Alanna and Helen looked down and saw a small patch of vibrant green.
Perhaps, in time, these ruins would transform into a lush forest. Eventually, City 22 would become a memory engraved in the minds of the survivors.
Waldo, Alanna, and Helen exchanged smiles. They were about to reach the outskirts of City 22’s ruins, and in the distance, they could spot sporadic buildings of the distant city. Despite the uncertainty of what opportunities and dangers awaited them in City 25, they knew they had to keep moving forward to survive.
The hot air balloon landed at the edge of City 22’s ruins. Waldo took out the armored vehicle, and the three of them, along with Chubby, got in. The engine roared to life, marking their departure. They had entered City 25 and were determined to make their way to the heart of the city for the best resources.
The journey was long, spanning several days. Waldo patiently drove the armored vehicle, hunting zombies and gathering supplies along the way. They encountered acid rain, and Waldo parked the vehicle by the roadside in a safe area to rest.
Now, they were in the suburban area of City 25. Once they crossed the suburbs, they would enter the central district where the four main city sectors were located.
Inside the armored vehicle, Waldo was having lunch – some simple bread and milk. Today was an exception since they usually cooked in the wild. Suddenly, Waldo slapped his thigh in excitement and stood up. Alanna and Helen were startled by his sudden movement.
They didn’t expect Waldo to act so impulsively.
Alanna patted her chest, barely avoiding choking on her food. "Are you crazy? You scared me half to death! What’s gotten into you?"
Helen patted Alanna’s back and scolded, "Waldo, can you please not startle us like that for no reason?"
Waldo put down the bread in his mouth and cleared his throat awkwardly. "Sorry, I got a little too excited just now. My bad. As compensation, how about I give you a kiss?"
Alanna blushed, no longer angry. "What kind of compensation is that? Well, I guess I wasn’t really mad. So, spill it, what got you so excited?"
Waldo took out a blueprint from his backpack, waved it in front of Alanna and Helen, and then handed it over. "Take a look, guess what treasure this is?!"
His eyes were gleaming with excitement.
Alanna and Helen opened the blueprint and were both stunned. After a few seconds, Helen exclaimed, "Oh my god, this blueprint is incredible! If we put it up on the trading platform, it will be a hot item for sure!"
Alanna nodded in agreement.
"Well, now that you mention it, I guess I can understand your impulsive behavior earlier," Alanna said with a chuckle.
"That’s right!" Waldo laughed. He didn’t expect that by drawing the most basic survival point lottery, he would actually obtain the blueprint for a "Combat Robot."
This was a platinum-level item!
Using S alloy and A alloy, along with an energy core, he could create a powerful combat robot. It could autonomously engage in battles, following only the master’s commands. With enough materials, he could even create a whole squad or even an army of combat robots.
Waldo decided to craft a combat robot and give it a try. He quickly purchased a batch of A alloy from the trading platform. As for the energy core, it was a material mostly used in automatic defense systems and wasn’t too expensive.
Afterwards, he opened the blueprint and started crafting.
This was the second platinum-level item he had obtained. Although he knew that he would encounter higher-level items in the future, he couldn’t help but be fascinated by this combat robot.
After all, what guy would refuse to have his own personal robot?
[Combat Robot] 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
S Alloy: (794/100)
A Alloy: (100/100)
Steel Plates: (1000/500)
Energy Core: (96/1)
[Craft one Combat Robot; do you want to proceed?]
[Yes/No]
Waldo quickly operated and clicked, eagerly completing the crafting of the combat robot.
Ding!
The combat robot had been successfully crafted.
The system’s notification echoed in Waldo’s mind. At the same time, a tall robotic warrior appeared before him.
Hiss!
Smoke billowed around the combat robot, making its appearance hard to discern.
It emitted an air of mystery and intrigue. The thick smoke caused several people to cough incessantly, and it took quite a while for it to dissipate.
