Chapter 165: Steel Behemoth

Before nightfall.

A steel behemoth emerged from the cave, roaring all the way with its engines at full throttle, bulldozing its path ahead. The armored vehicle followed closely!

"What’s that sound? The commotion is so loud, aren’t they afraid of attracting zombies?"

"I’m not sure. There were reports of continuous explosions in this area earlier this morning."

"Haha, whoever’s making such a racket probably won’t last long."

Nearby, a few survivors conversed. They were drawn to the sound of the engines’ roar.

During the morning, they had heard continuous explosions in the area through their communication channels. Some suspected that survivors encountered a large group of zombies here and fought desperately.

Others speculated that someone might have inadvertently provoked the zombies while searching for something. There were various conjectures.

This incident sparked widespread discussions on the communication channels during the morning. However, no one dared to venture here to investigate.

After all, regardless of the various speculations, they all indicated that this area was infested with a large number of zombies.Unless they were fearless of death, survivors wouldn’t come near this place.

Yet, there were always daredevils.

Just like the three survivors who arrived near here in the afternoon. They came here to find out what had happened earlier in the morning. If lucky, they might even scavenge some things.

After all, times had changed, and competition was fiercer than ever.

On the communication channels, survivors had already claimed to have encountered Level 2 zombies. Some even went so far as to say they had detected traces of Level 3 zombies.

This was astounding news.

It was this news that forced these individuals to take risks and come here.

Upon arriving at the foot of the mountain, they heard the roaring sound of engines.

It immediately captured their attention.Truly, the world was filled with wonders; such audacious individuals still existed in this world.

Indeed, their ability to survive until now was quite miraculous.

Comparatively, the three of them weren’t weaklings, yet they generally hesitated to drive vehicles. On the other hand, these folks didn’t care at all, roaring their engines so loudly as if they wanted to attract zombies.

"You’re right. Moreover, the most critical thing is that this is West City. Who knows how many zombies are lurking around!"

The three of them each added their thoughts.Their eyes were filled with disdain and mockery.

It seemed they had already concluded that those who drove vehicles like this were reckless idiots who relied solely on luck to survive.

And soon enough, the roar of the engine grew closer.Hearing this noise, their expressions changed slightly.Something seemed off.

The sound wasn’t like that of an ordinary car’s engine. Moreover, it was far too loud!

Soon, their eyes widened as they stared blankly at the ground before them.At that moment, they could feel the ground trembling distinctly. The small stones on the ground were even vibrating gently.

Something was amiss; this wasn’t an ordinary car.

"Not a car? Then what could it be?"

"Considering the sound and commotion, it’s probably something huge!"

The three of them were astonished.

What was going on?

This didn’t sound like an ordinary car’s engine.

What kind of engine could produce such a massive sound?

Soon, what left them in shock unfolded before their eyes.In their field of vision, around a bend, an enormous steel beast appeared!

With pristine steel armor, a massive turret, and a colossal barrel, it presented an intensely overwhelming visual impact! This was an unparalleled, naturally intimidating steel behemoth!

On the battlefield, it could plow through obstacles, undefeated, almost flawless!

"Oh, damn! It’s the Land Dominator!"

"Good grief, no wonder something felt off. It turns out to be this monster!"

"If I’m not mistaken, this isn’t just any light tank; it’s a heavy tank, the Apocalypse Tank! It could easily flatten cars into scrap metal!"

"Actually, I had a weird feeling before. Who on earth dares to make such a ruckus? It’s actually a tank!"

"Wow, who are the people inside? They’re so impressive, driving a tank and all!"

"I seriously suspect that the explosions this morning are related to this group of people!"

"Most likely. After all, with such a behemoth around, it doesn’t matter how many zombies come; they won’t be of any use!"

The three quickly exchanged their thoughts. When they saw the tank within their line of sight, they were almost dumbfounded. This was the main battle tank!

In City 25, this kind of behemoth was practically invincible.

There was hardly anyone or anything in this world that could stand against a tank.

Rifles, grenades, landmines—all of these were like scratching an itch to a main battle tank, utterly useless. When facing zombies, there was no need to even fire a shot; just roll over them.

"Quick, look! They’re attracting zombies over!"

Suddenly, someone noticed that on the distant road, some zombies were drawn by the noise, heading towards the tank. The number of zombies was quite substantial; not just on the road, but on both sides of the road as well.

"Damn, there are at least a hundred zombies! They’re being surrounded. Wait, we’re surrounded too! Should we escape quickly?!"

The three were taken aback. It turned out that the noise had attracted a massive number of zombies from all directions, desperately converging towards the steel behemoth.

It seemed they wanted to encircle the tank. And the three of them happened to be caught within this encirclement. At once, the trio paled.

They didn’t possess strong heavy firepower. Facing such a large number of zombies, their situation was precarious, and their chances of survival were slim.

Their faces turned white. Even their voices trembled as they spoke:

"But how do we escape? There’s nowhere to go!"

"Maybe we can break through in a certain direction. At that point, whether we survive or not depends on luck!"

The three were panicking.

Yet, one of them, slightly more composed, suddenly realized and hastily said, "Those zombies are headed for the tank. As long as we hide ourselves, we should be fine!"

"After all, the tank is their target, not us."

So long as they didn’t expose themselves, the problem shouldn’t be too big. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Soon, the three of them calmed down.
