Apocalypse - Infinite Resource System
Chapter 222: Flight
Waldo nodded. Although he hadn’t tried using it yet, just by the name, he could roughly guess the function of this ability. This power was something many people dreamed of. Waldo had fantasized about having the ability to fly freely in the sky.
With it, he could go anywhere he wanted, whether for traveling or having a superior vantage point. Most importantly, it was a life-saving ability. If he couldn’t win a fight, he could simply fly into the sky. How could anyone fight him if they couldn’t even reach him?
Next, Waldo shifted his focus to Source Stones and evolution points. He had already accumulated over a hundred evolution points and could enhance his ability level at any time.
After some thought, he decided on the direction to upgrade his ability. First, he would raise the ability "Flight" to level two, using up some of his evolution points. Then, he made a determined choice.
"Why not just upgrade the ’Flight’ ability to level three? In any case, this ability can significantly improve my self-defense capabilities, essentially providing an extra layer of insurance!"
Soon, Waldo made his decision.
In no time, he upgraded his sixth ability, "Flight," directly from level one to level three. Upon reaching level three, Waldo’s mind was suddenly flooded with numerous descriptions of the "Flight" ability. The more he read, the more amazed he became. In the end, Waldo was convinced that upgrading it to level three was the right choice.
At level one, the "Flight" ability allowed him to fly at a height of a hundred meters for ten minutes. At level two, the maximum flying altitude increased to three hundred meters, with a duration of up to half an hour. Beyond level three, the highest flying altitude was five hundred meters, and he could fly continuously for over an hour.
With a level three "Flight" ability, unless someone could instantly kill him, it would be almost impossible to take him down. If he sensed danger, he could fly directly into the sky, making himself unreachable.
Waldo was quite satisfied with his decision.
Clearly, the Zombie Lord didn’t possess the power to instantly kill him! With everything ready, Waldo immediately decided to head to the West district to face the Zombie Lord. The situation was urgent, and there was no time to waste.
However, before departing, Waldo made sure to contact Delgado. Once he went to the West district, all matters related to the United Forces in the East district would be Delgado’s responsibility.
Waldo reminded him, "There are a lot of variables involved in this mission. While I’m a hundred percent confident I can kill the Zombie Lord, there’s always the chance of unexpected events. If things go south, abandoning City 25 would be the wisest choice."
Delgado replied, "I understand. But I believe you can return victorious, Waldo. Stay strong! Our hopes rest on you."
Waldo nodded without saying much. Soon, they ended their conversation, and Waldo prepared to depart. Alanna and Helen accompanied him to the door. At this moment, both women had slightly reddened eyes.
Waldo’s journey to the West district was full of uncertainties. Level five zombies weren’t the same as level four or level three. No one knew just how powerful a level five Zombie Lord could be. Therefore, the two women couldn’t help but feel worried.
Seeing their reluctance and worried expressions, Waldo couldn’t help but smile wryly. "You both should go back. Wait for my good news! Even if I’m not a match for the Zombie Lord, I can definitely escape unharmed. Don’t worry. Besides, I’m confident I can handle the Zombie Lord!"
The two women naturally had faith in Waldo. Witnessing his confidence, they felt slightly reassured.
In the final moments before Waldo’s departure, both Alanna and Helen reminded him simultaneously, "Waldo, stay safe. We’ll be waiting for your return!"
"You can count on it. I’ll be back," Waldo replied.
Afterwards, Waldo drove his armored vehicle onto the road. The engine roared to life, and he quickly sped away, heading towards the West district. The armored vehicle paid no heed to the zombies on the roadside, bulldozing through and making its way to the West district.
On the road, there was a group of survivors from the United Forces on patrol. They couldn’t help but comment when they saw the armored vehicle speeding by without a care.
"Who is this? They dare to drive so recklessly!"
"Yeah, the zombies aren’t the same as before. One wrong move, and those zombies would tear the armored vehicle apart!"
"Plus, I see the direction they’re heading is the West district! Is this person incredibly bold or incredibly ignorant? Don’t they know how terrifying the West district is now? Even a level 40 survivor would have a slim chance of survival there!"
This small group of survivors found it quite unbelievable. The person driving the armored vehicle was acting extremely audacious.
"Isn’t this person from City 25? Because all the survivors from City 25 have been registered, so we should recognize them."
"Yeah, if it’s a survivor from City 25, they would have tasks assigned to them. It’s unlikely they’d be acting alone!"
Just as they were discussing this, someone in their group furrowed their brow slightly.
"Have you all noticed something? Doesn’t this armored vehicle look familiar?"
"Familiar?"
The others were slightly puzzled at first, but then they indeed started to feel a sense of familiarity.
"Oh my, it does seem so. I feel like I’ve seen it somewhere."
"Yeah, now that you mention it!"
"It’s similar to Waldo’s."
"No way!"
Everyone was taken aback for a moment, their heads spinning. However, with a little more thought, they finally realized that this armored vehicle belonged to Waldo.
"It should be Waldo’s armored vehicle. He just reached level 60 not long ago. Now, he must be going to the West district to deal with the level 5 zombie lord there."
As they approached the West district, Waldo retracted the armored vehicle.
"The West district! The first time I came to the West district, I was full of ambition, wanting to make a name for myself here. But this time, I’m coming for the strongest zombie."
At this moment, he had mixed feelings. West district had changed significantly.
"Level 5 zombies? A zombie lord? Your lifelong enemy is here, and I’ve come for you!"
Waldo seemed to mutter to himself as he activated his teleportation ability and instantly arrived at his destination: the city center of the West district, where the zombie lord was commanding all the zombies in the area.
