Chapter 284: Return Dawn

The United Fleet approached with great momentum. Survivors from the entire Eastern District gathered their attention on them.

This was the first fleet ever created and the first time people felt the fleet’s intimidation. However, no one had expected the United Fleet to fail. They were on the brink of collapse without even finding the Dawn!

From the blazing warships came the sounds of screams. Some people jumped into the sea in hopes of surviving.

At this moment, Waldo, who was closely monitoring the situation, immediately issued orders. He ordered the immediate deployment of combat robots to capture the enemies who had jumped into the ocean. At the same time, helicopters were dispatched to closely monitor all activity below.

In the United Fleet, there were five Level 60 Noah’s Ark Controllers.

Calvert nodded in understanding and quickly made the arrangements. Combat robots moved in, working in teams of five to capture survivors who had jumped into the sea. Two helicopters stood ready to locate the five Controllers.

These five Controllers were formidable Level 60 entities, and it was highly unlikely that they would perish in battle. As expected, not long after, the armed helicopters detected their whereabouts. Upon receiving the information, Waldo was ecstatic.

"These five are quite dangerous. Catch up to them at all costs and deplete their strength! But be careful not to be counterattacked!"

After the order was given, the two armed helicopters immediately took off. They possessed formidable firepower, including many high-explosive rockets that posed a significant threat even to Level 60 Controllers.

As expected, when the helicopters circled above them, the five struggling Controllers’ faces turned pale.

"Damn it! It’s a helicopter, and they’ve locked onto us!"

"No, we can’t let it hover above us, or we won’t be able to escape!"

"Hurry, figure out a way to bring it down!"

The five Controllers were getting anxious. However, before they could take action, another helicopter appeared in the distance, making their faces even more grim! One helicopter was already challenging enough for them, let alone two!

"Move fast!"

Burke quickly took out a rocket launcher from his backpack, intending to shoot down the helicopter. Just at this moment, he noticed another black spot in his line of sight.

"Could it be a third helicopter?"

Soon, his face changed completely because he realized it wasn’t a helicopter at all—it was a person! A person flying in the sky!

"How is this possible?"

Burke was utterly bewildered.

"What’s that? Look quickly!"

"It’s a person! A person flying in the sky! How is this possible? Is this his ability?"

The other Controllers also noticed the figure.

"Very surprised and envious."

Then, as the figure approached, the expressions of the five grew more and more astonishing.

"That person is Waldo!"

"The Waldo we thought we had assassinated!"

"No! This can’t be! Am I hallucinating? Wasn’t Waldo killed? Why is he appearing again?"

"What’s going on? How can it be Waldo? A dead person can’t be in front of us?!"

"Damn it! Could it be that the mysterious warship that was relentlessly pursuing us is Waldo’s? This is infuriating!"

At this moment, the five Controllers were completely stunned. They had received accurate information that Waldo had been successfully taken out. Now, he had unexpectedly reappeared! A resurrection? Impossible! The five Controllers experienced an unprecedented shock.

Next, they quickly tried to contact the rulers they had sent to assassinate Waldo. However, they couldn’t reach them at all. Those five rulers had met an unfortunate fate.

At this moment, the expressions on the faces of the five Controllers were extremely grim. It must have been Waldo who somehow learned of their actions, prepared in advance, and set a trap to capture them all at once. This moment, all five of them had thoughts of wanting to die.

Waldo in the sky appeared indifferent and said to the five below, "I didn’t hold a grudge over the last time. This time, you have no chance. So, how do you want to die?"

As soon as Waldo finished speaking, the five Controllers immediately took action. They knew they couldn’t survive, so they decided to make a preemptive move and fight to the death.

However, before they could make any significant moves, the two armed helicopters that had been waiting in ambush unleashed a barrage of firepower! Immediately, the five Controllers were sent tumbling, desperately trying to evade.

Boom! Boom!

The rocket projectiles from the helicopters directly inflicted severe injuries on the five Controllers. At the same time, with the cover of the two armed helicopters, Waldo personally got involved.

Before long, one by one, the five were shot and killed by him.

Looking at the five bodies floating on the sea’s surface, Waldo let out a cold snort.

"All of this is your own doing! How about the Noah’s Ark Controllers? How about the United Fleet? Anyone who dares to provoke me, Waldo, is destined to have only one outcome: death!"

After eliminating the five Controllers, Waldo left confidently. The Invincible ship achieved a complete victory and returned fully loaded. Two days later, they finally arrived back at the Dawn.

In that moment, Waldo felt a myriad of emotions. "If it weren’t for Binder’s urgent message, I might have been in danger this time. Even though I had the Invincible ship and wasn’t afraid of them, the Dawn would have been attacked first!"

With these thoughts in mind, Waldo promptly contacted Binder to express his gratitude. Binder was still shaken by the experience.

"In a way, it was a coincidence. If I didn’t happen to know that ruler, I wouldn’t have known such a concealed piece of information. Perhaps, that’s fate."

He hesitated for a moment and tentatively asked, "Uh, Waldo, you didn’t encounter the United Fleet, did you? According to the timing, you should have crossed paths by now. How’s your situation? Why haven’t we heard anything from you?"

In fact, he wasn’t the only one with such questions. Over these two days, many began to notice that something was amiss. According to the known intelligence, the United Fleet should have located the Dawn in these last few days. However, all news about the United Fleet seemed to disappear overnight.

Many suspected if the Dawn was exceptionally good at hiding, escaping so quickly that the United Fleet couldn’t find them. Naturally, Binder was no exception. Moreover, he had more insider information.

His ruler friend had once contacted Burke but received no response, as if the entire fleet had vanished. No one knew where they had gone and how the situation was now.

Upon hearing this, Waldo just smiled faintly. The United Fleet members were either killed in battle or captured, so there was no news spreading out.

On the Invincible ship, due to his considerable authority, survivors were neither allowed nor dared to disclose any information to the outside world. To the outside world, the United Fleet’s situation was like a massive black fog.

Filled with unknowns, Waldo reassured, "Rest assured, I’m doing fine now! The Dawn is safe and sound. As for the United Fleet, well, you just need to know that there’s no United Fleet from now on. By the way, you’ll need to reelect a Controller on your Ark. I think your ruler friend would be a good choice."

Hearing the first part, Binder let out a sigh of relief. "As long as you’re fine. You have no idea how worried I was."

At this point, Binder suddenly reacted, his eyes widening like bells. He hadn’t paid much attention to what Waldo said afterward; it was all filtered out automatically.

"No United Fleet anymore? So you mean the United Fleet is gone?!" he stammered.

Binder found it hard to believe. Although he believed Waldo could probably deal with this crisis and turn things around, he had only expected him to preserve their own strength. He had never imagined that Waldo could actually turn the tables and destroy the United Fleet.

"Is, is what you’re saying true? You’ve eliminated the United Fleet?" Binder asked in disbelief, stumbling over his words.

While he believed Waldo could likely handle this crisis and come out of it alright, he had only expected him to preserve their own strength. He had never imagined that Waldo could actually turn the tables and destroy the United Fleet.

Through the video feed, seeing Binder’s stunned expression, Waldo didn’t know what to say. He simply interrupted their communication, leaving Binder to grapple with the shock alone.

Not long after, Waldo set foot on the Dawn. Alanna and Helen had been waiting for a while. The moment Waldo arrived, they rushed out, scrutinizing him up and down. Once they were sure Waldo was unharmed, they finally let out a sigh of relief.

"It’s been so many days! Waldo, you have no idea how worried Helen has been. She’s been crying every night, and it breaks my heart to see," Alanna complained.

Upon hearing this, before Waldo could say anything, Helen immediately glared at her.

"Alanna, if you dare to talk nonsense again, believe me, I won’t be polite with you! It was clearly you crying at night and then blaming it on me. I can’t believe your nerve!" Helen retorted.

"I didn’t! It was clearly you! Don’t try to deceive me!" Alanna shot back.

"Argh, I’m going crazy! Alanna, I’m going to kill you for falsely accusing me!" Helen exclaimed.

Watching the two girls bicker, Waldo unusually relaxed, finding amusement in the scene. He even started imagining the two of them actually getting into a physical fight, assuming it would be quite entertaining.

Little did he know, the two girls didn’t actually fight. At a critical moment, they both turned their attention to Waldo, who was enjoying the spectacle.

They exchanged glances, seemingly reaching a certain unspoken understanding.

The next moment, they pounced on Waldo and started playfully hitting him.

Waldo’s face changed dramatically. "What the heck are you trying to do? If you want to fight, fight each other! What does that have to do with me? I haven’t done anything!"

Waldo felt unfairly targeted. "I really haven’t done anything. How did I become the target? Women’s logic is truly bizarre!"

The two girls were already at level sixty, and their strength was not to be underestimated. Even Waldo would have a hard time dealing with them. After all, he couldn’t handle them the way he dealt with enemies; there were many considerations to take into account.

"How is it not your business? Who made us sisters worry? It’s you, and you dare not admit it. You’re to blame!"
