Apocalypse - Infinite Resource System
Chapter 357: Poisoned
"Kill, kill, kill!"
In the next moment, the nine demigods present, representing the pinnacle of combat strength in the underground world, unleashed their full power without reservation. Suddenly, an immensely powerful storm swept across the sky.
Even the three red suns hanging in the high sky trembled slightly in the face of this terrifying aura. At the same time, this dreadful aura that pierced the heavens spread rapidly throughout the entire underwater world.
In the nearest Fourth Base, Fifth Base, Sixth Base, and other bases to the Third Base, numerous giants emerged from their rooms, staring in astonishment at the distant sky.
They witnessed the trembling red suns and the constantly refreshing, towering energy in the sky. Then, their expressions changed slightly.
What’s going on? Has something happened? Could it be the gods in the sky have taken action? It shouldn’t be the case, they went through the War of the Gods twenty years ago and divided the territories. There shouldn’t be any more conflicts!
Many giants were dumbfounded, extremely puzzled and worried. If the gods were to wage war, it would ultimately be the ordinary, low-power giants like them who would suffer.
In the foreseeable future, their bases might be destroyed, and numerous giants could be killed in the crossfire or casually dispatched by the gods.
"No, please don’t let it affect us! Please, Red Sun above, Almighty God above, we are just ordinary people. We don’t want to be dragged into a war!"
Fear filled the hearts of many. They looked toward the sky, toward the red sun that never seemed to set, pleading. They were genuinely afraid of the impending war.
They had enjoyed a rare period of peace and didn’t want to face the uncertainty of life and death once again.
This world had long suffered the ravages of war and was marked by devastation. They had had enough of war, and every war was a nightmare. But what could they do? They were powerless. At most, they could only pray to the sky.
And at this moment, Waldo finally engaged in battle with the nine giant demigods!
"Kill, kill, kill!" Waldo roared as massive fire dragons flew forth, incinerating everything.
Fire dragons landed on the ground, instantly causing raging fires within a radius of a hundred meters. At the core, a massive crater appeared, with rocks melting into magma, showcasing the horrifying power.
Waldo’s gaze hardened, and he let out a loud roar. He thrust his long spear, and an eerie, screeching sound filled the air. In the next moment, a blood-red figure was skewered from the void by his spear.
It turned out to be the giant enveloped in crimson.
"Damn, I’ve been discovered!"
This individual, shrouded in a blood-red shadow, was ranked third among the demigods, known as the Third General. His strength was among the top tier of the demigods. However, even he was detected by Waldo and skewered by his spear.
But it was in this split second that Waldo was ambushed.
"Ah!"
Waldo let out a pained cry. He was ambushed by three demigods, taking a heavy blow to his back and sending him flying.
A bluish mist enveloped his face, indicating that he had been poisoned. It was unclear which General had used the poison, quickly damaging his bloodstream, organs, and even nerves.
"This is a potent toxin I developed with the Void God! Even we demigods can be killed by it. Although your strength surpasses ours, you have no reason to survive, do you? Hahaha!"
The female demigod laughed loudly, her laughter filled with arrogance. She was the First General, the most terrifying and fearsome presence among the nine demigods. Her penchant for using various poisons and her powers were closely related to toxins.
"Surface dweller, you’re as good as dead. Within half an hour, you’ll be unequivocally deceased!"
The First General laughed coldly, her voice sharp and piercing. Hearing this, Waldo was momentarily stunned. Then, he abandoned the idea of detoxifying himself, and countless thoughts flashed through his mind.
"So, I’m as good as dead?" Waldo said with a look of despair.
"Hehe, you still have a bit of self-awareness. Of course, you’re as good as dead!" the First General said.
Then, she approached Waldo and spoke in a threatening yet seemingly negotiable tone, "But you don’t necessarily have to die. We can talk, and maybe, in the end, I’ll give you the antidote. You know, since I can create this poison, I naturally have the antidote. But if you want the antidote, you’ll need to answer my questions."
In Waldo’s eyes, a glimmer of hope emerged from the depths of endless despair. However, he still let out a cold snort.
"Antidote? I don’t need it! I’ve already prepared myself for a fight to the death, so I’m not afraid of death!"
"Hmph, you’re still being stubborn!"
"Let’s go, he won’t last much longer with my poison!"
The First General snorted.
"Kill, kill, kill!"
"Kill him!"
"Kill, kill, kill, don’t give him a chance to escape!"
Immediately, the other demigods seized the opportunity of Waldo’s poisoning and moved in to attack. Their auras erupted without restraint, and they were utterly terrifying. Even if an ordinary Level 99 survivor appeared here, they would likely be terrified and unable to move.
"I’m going all out against you!" Waldo roared.
His eyes were filled with madness and despair. It seemed that, at this moment, he had given up all hope of survival. He was willing to fight to the death against these giant demigods, even if it meant losing everything.
"Kill, kill, kill!"
Waldo bellowed as he engaged in battle with numerous demigods.
At this moment, he had become completely insane.
The deity behind him also roared, continuously striking, and injuring several demigods in succession. Then, Waldo leaped forward, sweeping his spear horizontally.
The First General exclaimed in shock and quickly dodged, retreating. However, it was too late. Her armor was instantly incinerated by the special flames on Waldo’s fiery spear, leaving her exposed.
"You, you damned!"
The First General’s face changed dramatically. Fortunately, there was a special aura circulating around her body, preventing the flames from burning her. However, her clothing was beyond repair.
Instantly, several demigods turned their heads away.
The female General shouted angrily, "What are you looking at? Haven’t you seen a woman before? Go and kill him!"
The other demigods averted their gaze and then roared, charging toward Waldo.
Waldo continued to fight, constantly spitting out black blood, and his aura became increasingly weak. As long as one’s eyes were working, anyone could see that Waldo was on the brink. It wouldn’t be long before the First General’s poison took his life.
Everyone believed that Waldo was bound to die.
However, was it really the case?
