Chapter 359: One by one

"Huh?" The female General heard the voice and was momentarily bewildered. Then, in the next moment, her smile froze suddenly.

"Who? Who’s speaking! Come out! Don’t play tricks!" she roared in anger, her expression showing signs of panic.

The fact that she hadn’t located the person speaking filled her with anxiety. It meant she was essentially putting her life in someone else’s hands and could be controlled at will.

A dry chuckle followed.

At the next instant, a crimson-flame spear abruptly pierced the female General’s chest, puncturing her heart. Her eyes widened in disbelief, her expression filled with desperate astonishment.

As the crimson-flame spear pierced her chest, it unleashed a furious power that shredded her fragile heart into pieces in an extremely brief moment. In other words, she was doomed.

"No! This can’t be!" she screamed in despair.

"Die!"

At the next moment, the female General’s eyes blazed with a fierce fire, as she expended every ounce of her strength, launching herself at Waldo behind her. She was ready to take him down with her in a blaze of glory. After all, she was already doomed.

Smack!

The surface-dwelling human behind her, like fragile paper, was slapped to bits by her. But instead of turning into a blood mist, it was reduced to a wisp of blue smoke.

The female General hesitated for a moment.

In the next instant, she abruptly sensed that something was wrong, and her face changed slightly. Sure enough, she turned her head and found Waldo once again right by her side. He appeared completely unscathed, showing no signs of being poisoned.

In an instant, a deafening roar echoed through her mind.

Why was this happening? A chilling sensation crawled up the back of her neck.

"You called for me, didn’t you? Well, here I am. What do you want? Do you want to kill me? Unfortunately, with your strength, you can’t kill me. Even if that so-called Void God appears, it’s hard to say who will prevail," Waldo said with a smile.

However, his smile was chilling, sending shivers down the spine.

When the female General heard Waldo’s words, her mind was overwhelmed by tumultuous thoughts.

At this moment, she considered many things, most shocking of which was the realization that she and the other demigods had been deceived by the surface-dwelling human before them.

His true strength surpassed their wildest imaginations, possibly even reaching the level of a deity. All their previous displays were merely part of a scheme. Their ultimate goal was to separate and systematically defeat and hunt them down.

If that was the case, then all the gods on the Red Sun, apart from the three major deities, would be annihilated. When this thought dawned on the female General, she was overwhelmed by a tidal wave of fear. If it were true, the consequences would be unthinkable.

Just at that moment, Waldo let out a cold laugh.

"Figured it out? Unfortunately, it’s too late. Die for me!" Without a second thought, he struck.

The female General was already doomed. Her heart had been obliterated, and her remaining lifespan was a mere formality due to her tenacious vitality. However, Waldo’s action served as an insurance policy.

The crimson-flame spear thrust forth.

With a splash, a blood-soaked head flew out, with a massive bloody hole right in the center. The deceased female General’s eyes were wide with despair and an expression of disbelief.

"You’re just the first; there won’t be a second. Every demi-god in the underworld will eventually fall to my hand!" Waldo glanced at the dead female General, his tone cold.

In fact, he had long planned this. From the beginning, he pretended to have weak strength. Later, he pretended to be poisoned. All his actions had a single purpose, which was to deceive these demi-gods.

And he executed it flawlessly, thoroughly fooling the demi-gods.

In the final explosion, he also released a doppelganger to attract the attention of the other demigods, leading them to chase his doppelganger. His true form, meanwhile, remained hidden in plain sight, invisible.

Then, taking advantage of the female General’s isolation, he struck decisively. The other demigods had no chance to escape.

As he spoke, Waldo’s form began to change discreetly. In the next moment, he had transformed into the likeness of the female General herself.

From appearance to aura, and even the overall presence, he was an exact copy of the female General. Even if the real General were to appear, she would likely not be able to distinguish between the genuine and the impostor.

"Prepare to meet your end! Today marks the end of your era of deities!" Waldo spoke with the voice of the female General.

As he talked, he made his way towards a distant target, the crimson demi-god who had previously concealed his presence.

This particular demi-god seemed to be the third General and preferred operating alone. At this moment, he was heading to a nearby base, searching for Waldo’s whereabouts.

Unbeknownst to Waldo, within the city of Dawn, the high-ranking officials and leaders of the city couldn’t help but find his recent actions quite perplexing.

Waldo’s behavior of repeatedly burning the clothing of the female General was nothing short of shameful and audacious. Alanna wore an unimpressed expression.

Helen nodded in agreement. "I think you’re right. It could be some sort of strange fascination he has. When he returns, we must give him a stern lesson."

Seeing these two women gossiping and discussing teaching Waldo a lesson, the likes of Calvert, Silva, and others dared not utter a word.

Only these two women dared to speak openly. In this world, it was Waldo’s dominion, and disrespect towards him was met with swift and severe consequences.

Although Waldo hadn’t fully unified all realms, his influence and power already made him the de facto strongest figure. Anyone who dared to disrespect him would quickly find themselves reported, arrested, and sentenced. This was true for both the surface and the underwater worlds.

Look at those demigods who had previously attempted to teach Waldo a lesson. What had happened to them?

Waldo had completely outmaneuvered them, and the most formidable of them, the self-proclaimed first General, had been killed by Waldo. The fates of the other demigods didn’t look promising either.

"This time, the Lord of the city had truly shown remarkable acting skills."

"Indeed, in the beginning, even I almost fell for it. If it weren’t for the fact that I know the Lord’s true abilities, I would have been seriously worried!"

"Hahaha, these underground demigods are in for a world of trouble!"
