Chapter 435: Wilderness Pursuit

Meanwhile, the fire dragon struck with sudden ferocity. The other two, lacking Alfred’s means of escape, knew they couldn’t flee. Roaring in defiance, they turned to face the massive, raging fire dragon.

Boom!

A huge blaze shot into the sky, shimmering with multicolored lights, instantly filling the safe house and exploding from its center. In an instant, it was like a mushroom cloud of fireworks erupting.

"Ahh!"

"Ahh!"

Two screams rang out. Then, two charred figures were flung from the safe house, crashing to the ground and creating deep craters.

Following this, a figure with a powerful aura, reminiscent of an ancient beast, leaped out. Like a massive weight dropping, the ground shook with his landing. Dust billowed like a giant serpent rising to the sky.

Beneath Waldo’s feet lay the two trialists who, just moments before, were plotting against him, their eyes wide with unwillingness and extreme fear, now void of life.

Crushed under Waldo’s full force, their fate was even grimmer than being trampled by an ancient elephant. Even the orc, known for his robust physique, exploded into a pile of mush under Waldo’s devastating stomp.

It happened too fast!

The speed at which Waldo killed these two was astonishing. In a mere instant, two powerful trialists were slain. It was undeniable that the gap in strength between a second-level trialist and a first-level trialist was immense.

"I became a second-level trialist mainly due to my multiple max-level abilities. In this aspect, I am far beyond others. Abilities are important, very important!" Waldo thought to himself.

Then, as if sensing something, his eyes seemed to blaze with fire, capable of seeing through illusions and discerning all things in the world. He suddenly turned, looking into the endless darkness.

"A fish that slipped through the net? You can’t escape either."

With a cold snort that resounded like distant thunder, causing hearts to tremble, the winds of the dark land howled fiercely.

In the midst of this, a pale figure emerged - it was Alfred. At this point, Alfred was already more than ten kilometers away from the safe house.

As soon as he appeared, he looked around in all directions. He was surrounded by pitch darkness, standing in the midst of a desolate wilderness, momentarily unable to determine his direction.

Suddenly, a tremendous explosion sounded from behind. "Damn it!" Alfred’s face instantly turned pale. Looking back, he saw a huge blaze shooting up into the sky in the distance. Faintly, two abruptly cut-off screams of agony could be heard. Alfred’s expression grew even grimmer.

"If it weren’t for my critical decision to use the Blood Shield technique at the expense of my lifespan, I would have met the same fate as the others, killed by Waldo!" Alfred thought about his narrow escape and felt a sense of relief, like one who had survived a great disaster.

Then, his feelings turned to fear and anger. "Despicable Waldo, going back on your word! One day, I will make you pay!"

Alfred snorted coldly, his face showing a mix of panic and fear. He dared not stay a moment longer. Choosing a direction, he unleashed all his power and fled with all his might. Despite his harsh words, he knew better than anyone that he was no match for Waldo at the moment.

Whoosh!

Alfred moved with incredible speed, covering more than ten meters in a single stride, like a thunderbolt. In a blink, he had run several miles. Desperate to survive and avoid being caught by Waldo, he was pushing himself to the limit, ignoring the exhaustion of his body.

"Waldo, I won’t let you get away with this! Since you killed my companions, I’ll let everyone see your true face. I’ll make you struggle to take a single step in the land of darkness, hunted by thousands!" Alfred thought fiercely.

Then, he accessed the communication channel and started recording a video. "Fellow trialists in the land of darkness, I am currently undergoing an unprecedented pursuit!"

Alfred shouted, his voice filled with immense hatred and anger. His plan was simple: expose Waldo’s vile character to everyone. He also wanted to reveal that Waldo possessed a large number of Super Source Stones. To any trialist, the allure of Super Source Stones was immense.

If given a choice between a rare beauty and a Super Source Stone, Alfred wouldn’t hesitate to choose the latter. Super Source Stones were key to dominating the land of darkness and surpassing other trialists in this assessment task.

Once it became public knowledge that Waldo had four or five Super Source Stones, countless people would surely be envious. Many would take the risk to trouble Waldo. And Waldo would find it difficult to move freely in the land of darkness. Perhaps one night, he might even be killed.

So what if he is a second-level trialist? There are more than just one second-level trialist in the dark land.

Moreover, it’s easier to dodge an open attack than a hidden one. Constantly surrounded by wolves, there’s bound to be a moment when one lets their guard down. That moment will be Waldo’s downfall.

At this moment, Alfred’s brain was like a high-speed supercomputer, rapidly processing countless thoughts. Since Waldo has chosen to be unrighteous, he can’t blame Alfred for being merciless. This was all brought upon himself by Waldo! He deserves what’s coming to him!

Meanwhile, the chat channel was still buzzing with activity. Many people saw the live broadcast initiated by Alfred. "What’s going on? Who is this guy daring to broadcast live? Isn’t he afraid of revealing his location?"

Trialists are no novices; they understand the importance of privacy, especially their whereabouts. Exposing one’s location could invite a lot of unnecessary trouble, and sometimes, it could even be fatal.

"Who is this person? That’s too bold, isn’t it? Being a trialist, how can he be as naive as ordinary survivors and not know to hide his tracks? Could this be some sort of plot or conspiracy?"

Many trialists saw the broadcast. They felt something was off at first but decided to check out the live stream anyway. As soon as they tuned in, they heard a voice filled with anger and hatred.

"A pursuit? Who is pursuing him? Wait, could it be the natives we heard about before?"

The trialists noticed that Alfred in the video was in a very ragged state, with multiple injuries. His face was particularly pale, devoid of any color, and his body was stained with blood. It was clear that he had just been through a major battle and was severely drained.

The trialists, being veterans of countless battles themselves, could tell at a glance that this person, who was running for his life, was not lying. He was indeed being pursued by someone.
